@@SirCharlzTV not really. The show begins around the same time as the first book. At that time Geralt is around 50-60, which for a witcher is quite young (there have been witchers over 150) as they age slower. I'd say the depiction is on point in all iterations.
@@orojackson9454 The faces are pretty detailed but still in a manga style and not too realistic looking. I believe that the Jim Lee version would have looked even more badass if that's possible.
I cannot convey how much I love this man's artwork. Thank you for this! Now to study it.
So I've been getting into comics recently as an animation student and from my gathered understanding, HOW AND WHY HAS THIS CHANNEL NOT GOT MILLIONS OF SUBS!
Mr. Lee, this is one of the most interesting inking jobs I've seen you do. I think you could make a great tutorial editing out all the pencil drawing and voicing over this explaining in great detail your inking process and what's going through your head/ why you made certain choices. Great work!
Less than 20 seconds into this video and I'm already loving his construction lines. Thumbs up for me plus I already know Jim Lee is one incredible artist!!
I am glad i got a comic with your authograph. Just bought it yesterday. Also glad that you are doing these videos. I got back at drawing recently. It's been a while. Gonna take classes soon. You are an inspiration. Thanks.
I didn't look at the title. And I was like. Damn this guy draws just like Jim Lee. Then I looked below and I was like, "Dolt!" This guy is my idol. Also an artist that inspired Manga artist is a true testament of how good he is.
Naw bro. Jim is one of my inspirations along with Nagel and Larry Elmore. He heavily influences my art style. His Marvel years had the biggest impact for me.
Legit the hardest thing I ever tried to draw about a couple months ago. If you don't get Geralts proportions just right he looks totally different. Jim Lee does it once and it's literally him. He's cool, very skilled, versatile, Jim is a class act all the way.
Although it's obviously based on the game, your Geralt definitely has some Henry Cavill's facial features (even if they were put unintentionally), and I find this mix in the art of yours an interesting one, in a good way, it makes the character even more brutal and unique. Anyway, I love your works, I admire black-white artists most among the other ones since it is a real talent (with years of practice, of course) to be able to create such a beauty using, basically, just one color, since white comes from canvas, and it is up to an artist to use it in a right way.
Now this is the type of art I always loved in comics. Not the overly-simplified, 'flat' style used today in many(because I don't think they're capable of anything more) comics. Great work!
There is no possible way for a man of his level to "lose his step".when you make thousands of drawings per year the quality is bound to vary a bit between each one.
@@blackeesh463 I used to think that but..Alex Ross has lost his step and he was my favorite painter of all time..I've also lost my step a time or two. It's a very real thing, glad to see Jim isn't done making the magic though as he is who got me into comics hardcore.
@@josray2557 man you are missing out if you can call a comic book illustrator your favourite painter of all time.If you lose your step a couple of times and then regain it,is it really a major problem?
@@blackeesh463 it's not a problem if you get back into it...however sometimes artists fall off for good. @Emiliano Marshall Glad I could help xD
"Oh, it's so hard to draw a character for the first time..." says poor Jimmy-boy and then proceeds to nail it incredibly.
he didn't nail it. He made him too old.
