Or with bellamy you just have to cgi his hands and feet for a few seconds while he is attacking and he will look the part. But with zoan its different. The whole body has to look good and authentic constantly. Whether they are talking or fighting etc... Thats why everybody was worried about the fishmen and chopper because they have to be constantly cgi. Even in the trailer the fishmen definitely is not bad but not great either.
Bro, Oda has said that Luffy is intended to be the equivalent of Brazilian descent if he was in the real world, that's why the live-action casted a Hispanic actor and has the accent. The entire cast took inspiration from Oda's reimagining of the Strawhats' ethnicities which are Luffy (Brazilian/Hispanic), Nami (Swedish/White), Zoro (Japanese), Usopp (African/Black), Sanji (French/White). Hopefully we get Chopper (Canadian caribou/reindeer), Robin (Russian), Franky (American/cyborg), and Brook (Austrian).
The devil fruit abilities are really great; not too goofy, not too forced. The fishmen takes a while to sink in but they're actually pretty good. Yeah, the accent can throw you off every once in a while but that's accurate to the lore. I guess it's just that we're so used to the Japanese voices, that's why. But other than that, this series looks good to go. Overtime I'm sure they'll improve on things but right now, this looks promising. See y'all on August 31!

He is fantastic in it. And Buggy looks great too. The dude playing him was in Agents of S.H.I.E.LD. I don’t know who is playing Roger but he might as well be Johnny Depp. I think we see Bellemere. I think she is the female Marine in dark blue we see running at 26 seconds into the trailer. It looks like Arlong is at Buggy's big top and Baratie. I'm going to guess that he is tracking Nami and he catches up to them at Baratie. Nami saying “You’ll have the excuse them, they're idiots" is to Arlong and she is trying to spare their lives as she betrays them My only complaints are that I’m not sure if I'm a fan of Luffy naming the crew himself. He doesn’t think that far ahead. Unless they give him a line where he makes it clear he came up with it on the spot. The other thing that we are two trailers in and all Usopp has said “hit the deck”. It’s probably not on purpose but he’s a main character.
i think they made suble changes in luffy to make him more beliavable. bcs unlike mostly ppl think, he's actually intelligent, not in a academic/tradicional manner,but in a intuitive one. And his cleverness is shown mutiple times. Like that scene whem he saw a Wind Vane and some episodes after he show the Gomu Gomu no Kazaguruma. So i think there's no problem. Other line that i think show's this difference is the Zoro one. whem he goes to fight position and put a sword in his mouth and luffy was like "so that's where it goes". It's a visua way to show luffy can forseen his potential (and probably creativity, once this is probably his mostly fundamental quality).

8 of these eps are equivalent to around 24 anime eps and considering One piece anime's atrocious pacing I think in 8 eps it can fairly well adapt the whole of east blue quite well.
also like the fandom has a theory that the narrator is someone from the story retelling it in an epilogue, like usopp or brook. so without a narrator you kinda lose that potential foreshadowing.
Honestly the actors have me pretty sold. I still feel like it's going to be hard to some of the weirder characters and locations. Cause on a weirdness scale fish men are like a 3 maybe.
The biggest thing that gives me hope about this being an alright adaptation instead of a trash fire is that the people who made it seem to be doing it because they love One Piece. It doesn't feel like a souless cash grab to capitalized on its popularity. There are a ton of little details sprinkled through that make a long-time fan like me all giddy inside. It obviously won't be as good as the source material, but I think I am going to enjoy this.

8 of these eps are equivalent to around 24 anime eps and considering One piece anime's atrocious pacing I think in 8 eps it can fairly well adapt the whole of east blue quite well.

also like the fandom has a theory that the narrator is someone from the story retelling it in an epilogue, like usopp or brook.

Honestly the actors have me pretty sold. I still feel like it's going to be hard to some of the weirder characters and locations. Cause on a weirdness scale fish men are like a 3 maybe.

The biggest thing that gives me hope about this being an alright adaptation instead of a trash fire is that the people who made it seem to be doing it because they love One Piece. It doesn't feel like a souless cash grab to capitalized on its popularity. There are a ton of little details sprinkled through that make a long-time fan like me all giddy inside. It obviously won't be as good as the source material, but I think I am going to enjoy this.
