- While going through my collection of older games I stumbled across my copy of NHL 2k11 for the Wii. I wondered how good 2k was at making goal horns. It then turned into this video.

-If a horn had changed in the time since NHL 2k11 was released it was not included in this video.
-These are my opinions.
-Horn blast patterns were also not taken into account (aside from Dallas).

Minnesota's horn is actually correct in the 2k version. I can't believe that EA still hasn't gotten it right over the years.

Vancouver and Montreal were not included because their horns changed after NHL 2k11 was released so it wouldn't be remotely fair to compare them. Winnipeg wasn't included because they didn't exist in NHL 2k11.

Same here, I like NHL2K better then NHL EA Sports because the shooting and passing is easy for pressing buttons. Shooting and passing with the analog sticks for NHL EA Sports is horrible

I love how the net physics actually work in 2k11 but not even in NHL 19
In NHL 2K11 the net doesn't move but has real physics that you would see in the daily basis
2K's sound like the old school goal horn recordings from UA-cam's early days.
And I love that for no reason.
I think it may have been the other way around, with some of those videos getting the horn sounds from the game.
To be fair, when the Penguins moved into CONSOL Energy Center they made the horn sound less raspy, so that's why there is a considerable difference.
2k should of won for LA Kings. Iv been to Kings games and the 2k one sounds the closet to it.

A lot of the 2k ones I noticed have a more crisp realistic sound which you hear especially with buffalo

I think the flames wasn't scored right. Over the years it has kind of changed. In 2011 it sounded exactly the way it was in NHL 2k11 and today it sounds exactly line in NHL17 so to say that EA is correct might be a little off.

The Blackhawks 2K goal horn was from the earlier 2003-2008 days. And still can't believe FOR almost 30 years of existence, EA still hasn't cracked the Blackhawks goal horn. Or Wild (even though they didn't exist for 30 years), or Islanders, or Panthers, or Sharks.

2k makes the goal horn sound like its coming from someones house but EA makes it sound like its in the arena

i used to score so much from right in front of the net on 2K11. just flick the wii stick and it would go in. it's funny, back on that game, i used to like to go down instead of up on the screen.

Detroit Red Wings 2K horn is the one they had from 95-2004, which actually sounds better but EA has the modern one.
The Florida panthers 2K11 goal horn sounds like the Blackhawks goal horn
on the blues goal horn the 2k11 version is the same as the 2k10 version. ea sports got it rite it jus needs to be a tad bit louder so u can actually hear it and the crowd at the same time

Good idea. But I think Chicago and Columbus used to be slightly different before.
Columbus just had a different start before and Chicago's was changed(new compressor and solenoid valve) in 2009 so 2k had time to make it correct
the blue jackets had a different horn in 2011, they changed it in like 2012 or 2013 I think

14:00 is definitely the better of the two.
Rangers in EA was the best in my opinion, and so was Carolina's for both. As a Caps fan, neither 2k or EA got the horn right. It sounded too high pitched

Because when they scored multiple times, they blast the horn 3 or 5 times if they scored 3 or 5 times
You also should have had judged by how long ea has had that horn since like the Rangers for example their 2K was great EA until the goal horn update in NHL 16 was not accurate

Are you kidding me?! The NHL 2K11 goal horn for the Colorado Avalanche was so off. I live in Colorado and have been to games. The NHL 17 one is so much more accurate.
I disagree only because the 2k horn is off in its pitch. EA may have a lower horn, but 2k has a more authentic sound.
