UPDATE:
- EA updated the Buffalo Sabres goal horn, it has 3 blasts now, which makes the horn more accurate.
- The Philadelphia Flyers use 3 blasts now instead of one, so the horn in the game is now outdated.
- The Calgary Flames use 2 blasts again, so I guess the goal horn presser was just hyped on opening night or something :D
Is it just me or is the blue color for every team slightly off?
@@Woofdogman The format changed during the transfer from PS5 to PC, so that might be the case.
Columbus Blue Jackets goal horn was slightly fixed so the broken start barely can be heard.

This is exactly why a PC version of the game is badly needed! With mods it can easily be fixed, at least for the offline modes. We just have to accept that EA will never deliver the accurate horns and songs. Whether it's for licensing issues or pure laziness they will never get it all right.
Not only the horns but so many details that could be fixed or added with mods in place! Ex : accurate goalie masks, more accurate player faces, real coach and referee faces, more historical jersey not in the game, more teams/leagues added, accurate arenas for non-NHL leagues, more scoreboard choices, and so much more.
Don't know if you knew already, but it was possible to put custom music in PS3 NHL games (11 to Legacy Edition) via USB stick. This included menu music, goal songs, goal horns, and many other choices. I just don't get why they decided to cut that feature off. You can still put a USB stick that contains media files to PS5, and I assume to XBOX as well.
@@ThePuckPlace Yes I do remember that! One of the best feature idea they had in franchise history! Such a shame it has never been brought back. Nowadays they don't care at all about these quality of life features that makes such a big difference at the end.
@@ThePuckPlaceyou can but you can’t add custom music to nhl 24 in the game like you could on ps3 and Xbox 360. It’s so stupid they can’t take it out I used to download the horns and songs to make them accurate back in the day. What’s the point of using a usb stick now if you can’t change the horns?
It sucks that all of NHL video games get the Anaheim Ducks goal horns wrong. This is why it breaks the immersion of the game. I always like it when the goal horn is accurate, and this is how to feel immersed when scoring a goal. In NHL 2k5, the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim goal horn is the 1995-1996 New York Islanders goal horn. I mean, wtf. At least, the NY Islanders and Detroit Red Wings in NHL 2k5 were accurate, which is why I often play these teams. Other fans of their favorite teams with in-game inaccurate goal horns will know that unrealistic inaccurate goal horns break the immersion of the game. The irony in this video is that the JLA Red Wings goal horn is inserted (yeah, immersion feels unrealistic), but there are Red Wings fans that want to keep that goal horn. The JLA goal horn is one of the best goal horns in NHL history, and that's quite an honor for even Mighty Ducks/Anaheim Ducks fan to say that. Computer-generated goal horns and poorly recorded goal horns shown in this video really makes my ears bleed. Well done for putting this video together. Thanks a bunch!

i wish we could import custom music in game like we used to be able to do back in the Xbox 360 days. The goal horns, penalty kill music, powerplay (etc)

Their inability to capture the actual energy of the game just spoils it. The celly cams they're doing now are stupid,. 99.9% of goals the head-pat circle is done somewhere in the offensive zone. Not the red line by the penalty boxes. Goal celebrations are usually just excess emotion boiling over and being expressed to the fans the moment the puck goes in too. That's the energy of a celebration. It feels so soulless to me, because I've played hockey for my entire life.
Also never having any of the goal songs bothers me. Like seriously just put some effort in to that part maybe. Also the fact that there's a few glitch goals every year, and all the other quirks drive me batty.
Why would they bother to change anything when they know they have people still willing to drop 70 bucks on the same game every year?

The hawks should never have raised the horn into the rafters back in 18. It sounded so much louder and more powerful when it was lower.

The old horn used at JLA is definitely classic and what I think of for Detroit. But, it sounded horrible at LCA. I like that it’s an actual horn and the new tone is kind of synonymous for this era of the Wings. They’re getting closer and closer to being a playoff contending team
@@UO51777 for that reason, the horn makes no sense. We made the playoffs every single year we had the old horn at the joe. The horn at the LCA before was weak, but at least it still sounded like the one from the joe. I just wish they'd taken more time to make it sound more like the original, because it definitely sounds more generic to me now

As a Blues fan, I actually like the song after the horn better this year… The organ sounds more pronounced and accurate to me. I just wish it would fully complete before the next puck drop - it gets cut off early almost every time.

Generally… the hurricanes one last season sounded refurbished and more powerful near the end of the season and into the playoffs. Way more growl than it used to have. Was kinda looking forward to it being in the game as they are my favorite team. But no. Either they or EA just doesn’t care enough

The Montreal Canadiens one is pretty accurate, i can tell bc i have gone to a game, but in nhl, its a bit quiet, it needs to be louder.
Nah its not, I went a few weeks ago and have recordings on my channel. The recording is outdated and last season they added a bell to make it sound better.

something i’ve noticed about newer NHL titles is that EA barely pays any attention to sound and rink ambience, go to older titles, 14 is a great example of attention to detail with sound design

As an Oilers fan, I also hate our goal horn lol, but the game is not even close to 10/10 accurate. The pitch is way off, its more like a 6/10.

I think you have to take the sound of the arena in real life, cause let me tell you something, what you hear on tv, broadcast whatever... you have equalizers and compressions that alter the sound. of what you hear in this video.
Example:
Ducks horn: "oh its too high pith compared to real life its really bassy." Maybe its like that for real too, but don't make your opinion on what you hear on broadcasts cause it's really different than irl. I'm a musician and sound engineer, I know what i'm talking about.

i am so dissapointed by the lack of attention the goal horns get each year in this game. there are youtube channels who make better reproductions of them at home.

Carolina goal horn still sounds like it was played over a telephone.
EA doesn't add the song at the end of the bruins goal horn, the song is pretty much the best part
Worst ones
- Columbus still has what I call the "Bissell Vacuum Recording" from NHL 07. The PS2 horn for Columbus was closer.
- Washington's recording is from the KOLZIG era of the team. That's how old the recording is.
- St. Louis fixed their horn the year before the Gloria run. There's no excuse to still be using the, at the time, mostly accurate horn from the Backes years.
- Anaheim, shafted on each end like always. NHL 2K9 and 2K10's horns actually sound close. Y'know why? They sent their AMERICAN audio people to get recordings of the actual horns in an empty arena. EA is literally situated in Burbank. Do the same.
They should just let Famous Goal Horns do the goal horns

10:57 it’s the real goal song, but it’s an outdated version. Early in the 2010s they remixed it and you don’t hear the “let’s go rangers” vocals anymore.
The new horn is just like the horn at JLA. They brought in a horn like this for the season.

Cool sound replication. Too bad the game pretty much plays and looks like it did 10-15 years ago. I just don't understand this franchise that puts out great looking game but can't manage to innovate their sports franchises.
There was a brief period when ESPN did release their own version of NHL and they used different camera angles. EA just sticks to this tiresome overhead view and the movement looks as dead and wooden as it did in early 2000s. Give the damn franchise to somebody else.

People always flip out over goal horns in game every year and for arena details, what they FAIL to realize is it takes time lots of time to get every fine tuned detail there is legal aspects due to LICENSING! Teams must sign legal papers to allow their intellectual property to be used in game (logos, arena name and appearances, goal horns, mascot (if they have one) and uniforms, aparently all of these "karens" doesn't realize there's a thing called COPYRIGHT PROTECTION and there is permissions in order to legally use intellectual property!
Why would the teams hold out on letting them use their goal horns? Like unless you have actual evidence of that ever happening, it sounds like you’re just making excuses for EA.
