Towards the end of Return of the Jedi, Palpatine did defend himself against Vader. He wasn't just spazing out in a rage. He was using force lightning and overloading Vader's life support circuits. Palpatine was paralyzed because Vader's cybernetic hand crushed his spine. Novelization of ROJ.
Could be that even they would be repulsed by that; maybe they did have some scruples? Or Palpatine just assumed they would rat him out? Because it would’ve unfolded everything Palpatine has done! Just one word from the Kaminos would have toppled his entire agenda and he would’ve been executed or in prison.

Me too he looked like a demon possessed character, almost creepy with those yellow piercing eyes and evil look on his face. I thought it was the best moment in the entire sequel trilogy.
From what I've seen in Star Wars canon, cloning regular beings like soldiers (clone troopers/Jango/Boba Fett) was easy to do, but cloning FORCE USERS (Luuke Skywalker, Starkiller clones) was an imperfect art and had lots more challenges. I always assumed the Imperials wanted Grogu to try and fine-tune their creation of a new body for Palpatine.
The sad reality is that this whole story about Palpatine is just an attempt at retconning the disaster of The Last Jedi. While I personally didn't mind TLJ, I think that it completely destroyed the chance of making Snoke a Viable villian. With all the information about Snoke being an ancient species, and the images from the first two movies depicting a create like Snoke, showing that he had his story changed at the last minute.
That was planned out, actually The Palpatine lineage in Rey is way more obvious now, the First Order being secretly controlled by Palpatine is HELLA obvious now, and, honestly, we should have seen it coming anyway Did you really believe one the greatest Sith ever, one who knew how to manipulate life and death, dies from being thrown down a nuclear fuckin well? It was the rushed job of implementing him and his connection to Rey in TRoS, like most of that movie’s actual problems, that were due to TLJ, those specifically were due to JJ not being straightforward about his plans with RJ before he took over, and JJ wanting to use his own ideas anyway Hell, Rey’s Palpatine lineage isn’t even a true retcon, it was Kylo talking shit to manipulate a Rey into joining his cause, he never established it as fact, nothing really did, and Kylo never established himself as trustworthy enough to just take it as such, at face value, with zero evidence Him coming clean later is a guilty conscience coming clean in an effort to earn redemption, not a hastily planned retcon
- My question is what was Rian Johnson's idea of the big bad in the third movie? Surely, he didn't think that Kylo was it? What were any of them thinking with they justified the death of Snoke?
Midi-chlorians or the Force itself cannot be cloned. So the “human” body that was cloned cannot contain the Force. So the Force strikes back at the being that tries to contain the Force in itself and literally consumes the body, deteriorating it, feeding it back to the Cosmic Force. Whoooaaa....
cgonz idk about this necessary, unless it’s canon elsewhere. I know force unleashed isn’t canon anymore but Star Wars has explored the cloning of force users before. I just think that palpatine wasn’t ready yet and had perfected the Kaminoan cloning process
Its quite possible that this is the case, but i wouldnt say its impossible to acheve an ideal clone, just something really, REALLY hard. Like he said, maybe Baby Yoda's genes(a species that is really strong in the force) would have been a key ingredient in such an achivement.
So not only is Rey Palpatine alive BUT Sheev spirit is too?? WHAT'S TO STOP HIM FROM COMING BACK AGAIN?😂? If it was a clone.. & if he was a clone in Jedi then then why wait 30yrs & start a new crew (1st Order) without knowing they were force diad ??? STUPID!!!!!‼

LJ no he should have stayed dead. The best thing he did since coming back was that fight with Obi-wan on Tatooine. All his other development seemed like filler. For good measure, he was chopped in half, it’s dumb if he survives that.
Hey if he transferred his consciousness into another body then that would be good enough but the fact that Vader could've only killed a clone is just ruining the prophecy
@@Aristocratic13 yes but palpatine never died. Everything just repeated. Did Anakin really do all that just to have balance for 30years? I'm not saying that evil shouldnt have come back, but to have Palpatine to never die and really just go on a hiatus kills the prophecy.
@Jacob Underwood pretty sure the prophecy was two parts. In the prequels, that Anakin would bring balance to the force leaving 2 jedi and 2 sith(but expanded canon has given us more jedis). And then for the return of Anakin in episode 6.
It seems that after Palpatine realises that Ben and Rey are the dyad, he reminisces about the time when he wanted to create a Dyad between himself and Anakin. Bloody hell, Palps...

If he can send his consciousness to other vessels, then he is effectively impossible to kill. That means even at the end of the sequels, his consciousness is still alive.
That is possible, but not the only possible conclusion. E.g. It's clearly possible that the essence transfer requires a vessel and that the 'spirit' as such would die without any remaining conduits. (The ability to transfer consciousness between conduits does not entail that the consciousness can survive independently without any conduits.)
@@proprioceptive_ultragamer I'm sure he sent it to one of his more than willing clones or acolytes. He's definitely still alive and impossible to kill.
Yes, but consciousness without a body is harmless. Basically the same thing happened in sauron, Saruman and Voldemort. After their deaths their spirits remained, but they were unable to take any sort of form anymore. Voldemort’s spirit got stuck into some impotent fetus that dumbledore said that Harry couldn’t help. So this is quite similar to that.
Because he doesn't see obvious idiotic plot Band-Aids.. in clone wars they mass produced hundreds of walking functioning troopers.. yet post clone wars Palpatine's lackeys couldn't get ONE right? Yoda's species is the most force sensitive and attuned in the Galaxy.. yet video creator thinks it's his 'life span' they were after for genetic splicing. Lol.
As Yoda said to Luke, "Cosmic beings are we, not this crude matter!" So I guess immortality through transferring your essence/consciousness makes a lot more sense than preserving your original body.
Your body isn't you, it is part of you which your consciousness controls, the body died but his consciousness is him which lived on therefore he didn't really die.
They shouldve never brought him back lol edit: ive drawn a suirrel if anyone is interested :3 (kinda cute/disgusting) could try a star wars character next

@cris tian. It makes perfect sense, 30 years ago a graphic novel 6 part series came out called The Dark Empire. Its literally all about sidious coming back as a clone, it tells how, why, what, when, where and who. It also explains the decay of the clones and why sidious had hundreds of clones of himself stored away.
What disney deems Canon or not is besides the question and completely opposite this topic, you state that what happened makes no sense what so ever. I'm saying that it makes perfect sense, and that Abrahms did the best he could, being a true starwars fan boy who could only do so much with a series that was under scrutiny and intense pressure by not only the public but by Disney and their need to keep an image. If you read the dark empire or were at all a star wars fan. You'd have known that Abrahms did show cloning chambers hosting decayed and destroyed clones of sidious, which was a direct reference to the dark empire and a tip of the hat to James lucenos Darth Plagueis. I'll chose fact over uneducated opinion any day. And whether disney says Canon or not, star wars Legends series will forever be Canon. I bet you don't even know why the death star was created... Plagueis is referred to in ROTS, so he’s canon.
Canon or not, his importance has and will ever be eternal. Nothing this lazy directors can do about it.
In ROTS Plagueis is mentioned as a legend heavily implied he actually existed but certainly not as recent as to be Palps master. So I’m glad they kept that

Love how clonimg is imperfect, but there was literaly a war like 70+ years before this called the clone wars where cloning was the whole base of the war
more like 50+ years
Clonning a force user is far more complex, even in legend.
I'm guessing splicing midichlorians hasn't been perfected. In the clone wars, we even saw mutated clones.
Maybe cloning was the secret to immortality, and the reason why palpstine created the seperatists was so that he could support the cloning efforts and claim it for itself since he allowed Camino into the galactic republic. After claiming it, he shut the facility down, moved all the tech and research he could get to Exogul and begin his cloning process. Problem is, the camino people wouldnt follow him and the empire had them executed as palpatine thought he had the knowledge to clone himself but where he didnt thats why it kept fucking up.
in Star Wars Force Unleashed II they also couldnt clone Starkiller so....
I’d rather watch Obi-Wan saying “hello there” on a 3hr loop then watch a single Disney film that stole ideas from Star Wars

The reason it was made legends was not to de-canonize the material. Instead, it was done so they could use characters from legends without being forced to stick to already established story lines. It's actually a brilliant move and has worked successfully.
@@brianborstein8456 oh yeah, the sequel trillogy has been super successful.

@@pablofski3239 Disney had nothing to do with what was, is or would not be considered canon. This is a sad misconception that has propagated itself through social media and fan speculation. The decision on what was to be canon, originated from George Lucas, and if you did a bit of research you could come across multiple interviews with him giving his thoughts on the EU, as early as the late 1980's. Maybe because Kaminoioans were experienced in normal cloning, but not in cloning bodies for force sesitives or people with a high midichlorian count.
Why didnt Vader just go to the Kaminoians to get a clone l too

From what I've seen in Star Wars canon, cloning regular beings like soldiers (clone troopers/Jango/Boba Fett) was easy to do, but cloning FORCE USERS (Luuke Skywalker, Starkiller clones) was an imperfect art and had lots more challenges. I always assumed the Imperials wanted Grogu to try and fine-tune their creation of a new body for Palpatine.
Every time I hear “Eternal” I’m referring to Star Wars I always think about the Eternal Empire

Orson Lepherd yeah, Valkorion lasted for many millennia. Palps lasted for like 50 years. Big difference, right?
The sad reality is that this whole story about Palpatine is just an attempt at retconning the disaster of The Last Jedi. While I personally didn't mind TLJ, I think that it completely destroyed the chance of making Snoke a Viable villian. With all the information about Snoke being an ancient species, and the images from the first two movies depicting a create like Snoke, showing that he had his story changed at the last minute.
That's what I keep telling people, an everyone just calls me a hater.
Simone Ellmers agreed. But just going off of this novelization, the person did a good job of trying to fill the mess of holes the film left behind.
Duh
That was planned out, actually
The Palpatine lineage in Rey is way more obvious now, the First Order being secretly controlled by Palpatine is HELLA obvious now, and, honestly, we should have seen it coming anyway
Did you really believe one the greatest Sith ever, one who knew how to manipulate life and death, dies from being thrown down a nuclear fuckin well?
It was the rushed job of implementing him and his connection to Rey in TRoS, like most of that movie’s actual problems, that were due to TLJ, those specifically were due to JJ not being straightforward about his plans with RJ before he took over, and JJ wanting to use his own ideas anyway
Hell, Rey’s Palpatine lineage isn’t even a true retcon, it was Kylo talking shit to manipulate a Rey into joining his cause, he never established it as fact, nothing really did, and Kylo never established himself as trustworthy enough to just take it as such, at face value, with zero evidence
Him coming clean later is a guilty conscience coming clean in an effort to earn redemption, not a hastily planned retcon
That and the imperfect essence transfer

If he can send his consciousness to other vessels, then he is effectively impossible to kill. That means even at the end of the sequels, his consciousness is still alive.
So many plot holes
Yet another reason why the sequel trilogy is crap.
