    I am using a grappling dummy to practice throws and takedowns. The grappling dummy i have is 90 lbs of dead weight. I use judo and wrestling to grapple with my grappling dummy. The grappling dummy training is essential in these tough times to train without a partner for bjj, wrestling, judo, and grapppling. I love to ground and pound the grappling dummy just like khabib nurmagomedov.

    Grappling dummies may not help you be better than someone else who is grappling with people, but it will help you become better than someone with zero grappling skills. And dummies don't spread viruses. Its a good thing to have.

    I'm from Brazil and I love your videos. English is my fourth language so I'm sorry for some mistakes.
    I'm a black belt in Kyokushin, also a black belt in BJJ and a brown belt in Judo, I have to say that your hips are almost in the perfect position and this is so hard to achieve Congrats!!
    I have some tips for you, first is about the hip throws. As I said you do the move almost perfectly so there is nothing that someone can say about it, but there's is a "lack" in your move, you need to train with more speed your uchikomi footwork to generate that momentum. Do this footwork with a minimum force, just speed, try to maintain your foot light as possible to not hurt your knees. Here in Brazil, we don't have theses dummies so when there is not a partner we train the footwork on the wall, just putting your hands against the wall and doing the footwork with high speed, sometimes we use rubber bands too for the same exercise.
    And about the double leg, single-leg, or high crotch, you have to shot your knees closer to the dummy cuz in a real situation the opponent will try to defend your takedowns to the leg with a sprawl.
    I apologize if I sound arrogant or aggressive, it's not my first language but my intention to help you is genuine.

    Bravo, bravo,...fyi...the days I practice bjj i havent had trouble sleeping sir. Thanks for showing some MMA combos. Im struggling with the most simplest things bro...just simply spinning of my back which leads to spinning arm bar or pendulum sweep has been a challenge. At home im over here just practicing to spin off my back on the floor. I think it helps to sort of bridge and point hips up in the air while doing it. If you can could you inform me of some bjj drills I could do, dummy-less that could later translate to technique for bjj that would be nice? Domo Arriagato!....P.S. i forgot how difficult kazushy was with a live person, i was reminded today in class but we agreed to not kake and fully execute the throw since i mentioned before not trying to concuss at this time. ⛩🏳️🧎🏾‍♂️⛩

    I plan to get in the ufc and also be a very good fighter what’s your opinion on this?
    I want to be a complete fighter by using useful techniques from other styles like the conditioning In karate/muay thai, also learn both striking/grappling moves from other arts such as judo and bjj. I do wrestling so a can practice judo throws sense thier very similar and some ground combat from bjj. Boxing is basically just punching so I can just practice on the speed and power of the punch. And strengthen my grip in grappling. And also learn kicking techniques aswell the ones I know I’ll use. Basically use all the necessary things for combat from other styles and apply it to my fighting style. Ima obviously get hard real training .
    Thoughts?

    • @SENSEIJASON
      @SENSEIJASON  3 роки тому +2

      Yes this is the ideal approach, especially if you wanna make it big in UFC. Try to discover your specialty in the process whether that striking or grappling. Maximize your strengths and minimize your weaknesses by learning and continuing to improve. Best of luck on your journey young Champ!

    Try not to sit so far up on the body when in the top mount position, you lose a lot of control of the body the further up you sit. Also, never rest your arm on the ground in any gnp situation, you're setting yourself up to be put in an arm bar or a reversal.

    is it heavy like a person

    • @SENSEIJASON
      @SENSEIJASON  3 роки тому +5

      Feels heavier because of the dead weight. When you grapple with a human, they are supporting their own weight, which reduces almost half of the force your have to grapple with. When you train with a grappling dummy, it is a complete dead weight, you ever have to drag anybody or pick someone up who doesn’t want to comply? That’s the feeling. Initially it will feel heavy and awkward to Balance and maneuver, but eventually you will become freakishly strong and intelligent when handing the dummy. 90lbs is a good weight for me, I walk around 145lbs.

      @@SENSEIJASON would you say it’s worth buying? i’ve been really into mma lately but no where is open to train, i have all the shin guards, gloves, pads etc but i want to up my grappling game.

    • @SENSEIJASON
      @SENSEIJASON  3 роки тому +5

      Dude! Hell yes! I love my grappling dummy (not in a weird way)! The convenience of training anytime of day you want, the ability to take punches and nonstop ground n pound, the ability to be thrown over and over. Dude they are priceless and a must have if you are a serious mma athlete. It’s like a heavy bag for boxers, the grappling dummy does just that for grapplers. They are both indispensable tools if you want to keep training outside the gym or do not have access to training partners. Just keep in mind though, that when you throw it to the floor, you are the one picking it back up. Normally your partner would get back up, but with the dummy keep in mind you are doing the work. Other than that, it will actually make you stronger!

      First of all my dummy is 90lbs 20 more than his 70lb dummy. Second of all he is twice my size. Be careful not to mistake “entertainment/aggression” for “effectiveness”. If you watch khabib, the greatest grappler in MMA, watch how he handles the dummy.
