I am using a grappling dummy to practice throws and takedowns. The grappling dummy i have is 90 lbs of dead weight. I use judo and wrestling to grapple with my grappling dummy. The grappling dummy training is essential in these tough times to train without a partner for bjj, wrestling, judo, and grapppling. I love to ground and pound the grappling dummy just like khabib nurmagomedov.

Basics are all you need! Nice work champ!
Grappling dummies may not help you be better than someone else who is grappling with people, but it will help you become better than someone with zero grappling skills. And dummies don't spread viruses. Its a good thing to have.
I agree, similar to a heavy bag for strikers, it is not a real opponent, but good to have outside the dojo/gym.
I bought Elon Musk's prototype chip and installed it in my training dummy's head, and oh boy, is that thing dangerous now. It knows every move in the book from every land.

ha ha ha I like it
I got one of those dummies definitely a legit thing to have!
The fireman and arm bar 🤘🏾 nice cousin 🔥
i dont have anyone to spar with so this is a must have for me
Absolutely, the ideal training buddy for training solo, or if you don't have access to partners or a gym.
I don't have anyone to drop him on his head when I'm angry, so this is handy.
Thanks bro for your work, my english is no good i need this work with a dummy
This dummy is by century martial arts. But there are also many dummy on AMAZON
I'm from Brazil and I love your videos. English is my fourth language so I'm sorry for some mistakes.
I'm a black belt in Kyokushin, also a black belt in BJJ and a brown belt in Judo, I have to say that your hips are almost in the perfect position and this is so hard to achieve Congrats!!
I have some tips for you, first is about the hip throws. As I said you do the move almost perfectly so there is nothing that someone can say about it, but there's is a "lack" in your move, you need to train with more speed your uchikomi footwork to generate that momentum. Do this footwork with a minimum force, just speed, try to maintain your foot light as possible to not hurt your knees. Here in Brazil, we don't have theses dummies so when there is not a partner we train the footwork on the wall, just putting your hands against the wall and doing the footwork with high speed, sometimes we use rubber bands too for the same exercise.
And about the double leg, single-leg, or high crotch, you have to shot your knees closer to the dummy cuz in a real situation the opponent will try to defend your takedowns to the leg with a sprawl.
I apologize if I sound arrogant or aggressive, it's not my first language but my intention to help you is genuine.
Thank you for the helpful tips brother, and don’t worry your English is definitely clear. You gave very constructive and specific feedback, and I can tell you are a high level knowledgeable practitioner. OSS!
-Jason 🔥🙏🏽❤️
@@SENSEIJASON I'm very thankful for your content, as I said my karate roots are in Kyokushin, with your videos I was able to add some of the Shotokan footwork and combos in my strategy for MMA and helped me a lot, like A LOT lol

Bravo, bravo,...fyi...the days I practice bjj i havent had trouble sleeping sir. Thanks for showing some MMA combos. Im struggling with the most simplest things bro...just simply spinning of my back which leads to spinning arm bar or pendulum sweep has been a challenge. At home im over here just practicing to spin off my back on the floor. I think it helps to sort of bridge and point hips up in the air while doing it. If you can could you inform me of some bjj drills I could do, dummy-less that could later translate to technique for bjj that would be nice? Domo Arriagato!....P.S. i forgot how difficult kazushy was with a live person, i was reminded today in class but we agreed to not kake and fully execute the throw since i mentioned before not trying to concuss at this time. ⛩🏳️🧎🏾♂️⛩
Hey Stan, good to hear your BJJ journey is back. I would recommend hip bridges, simply lifting your hips off the ground, also learning how to butt scoot forward and back. Those are great to help increase mobility and movement on the ground

Hello my friend, yes my instagram, is @jkillasensei
Hey, amazing video! One question though- what should I do with the mats when it rains? Shall I leave it there or pick it up and put them away
Hi! Every time I train I always set the mats up, and when I finish I take them apart and store them inside my house.
Lol was looking for mats to practice break falls with 4cm thickness then I saw yours, back to square one bahaha. Might get some like your so much cheaper.
They definitely are reasonably priced and get the job done. Not as good as tatami tho
@@SENSEIJASON how much cm are your math man? Sorry i dont speak english very well
I am 170cm
Glad I got those mats. Been using them for awhile now. Yeah they slip a little if you did side to side movement but overall got mine from Target in Australia only $10 for a 4 pack so bought 3. Prob could barely buy 1 1x1m MMA tile for that price. Also my kid loves to play on it and the cat already scratched the hell out of it. So thanks again Jason
@@warhawksmemories3071 Hey brother that is what I like to hear! Must be a great investment, with all the gym closures and restrictions. But hey,, things are slowly starting to reopen!
God bless man,
Jason
I plan to get in the ufc and also be a very good fighter what’s your opinion on this?
I want to be a complete fighter by using useful techniques from other styles like the conditioning In karate/muay thai, also learn both striking/grappling moves from other arts such as judo and bjj. I do wrestling so a can practice judo throws sense thier very similar and some ground combat from bjj. Boxing is basically just punching so I can just practice on the speed and power of the punch. And strengthen my grip in grappling. And also learn kicking techniques aswell the ones I know I’ll use. Basically use all the necessary things for combat from other styles and apply it to my fighting style. Ima obviously get hard real training .
Thoughts?
Yes this is the ideal approach, especially if you wanna make it big in UFC. Try to discover your specialty in the process whether that striking or grappling. Maximize your strengths and minimize your weaknesses by learning and continuing to improve. Best of luck on your journey young Champ!

Dang bro u really messed that dummy up
Works ur judo good
Oh yes! It is so good for judo!
I live on the 3rd floor, laminate flooring. Will it make a lot of noise and do you need mats for a 125 pound dummy?
What I do when my internet buffers
LOLLL
i want the 140 pound for strength work but i hear its just too heavy, im 180 on a good day x] anybody have any suggestions?
I’d say with grappling dummies, less is more. 140 is a lot of deadweight to practice grappling on. But if you have the space, and the proper flooring, it is totally fine to go for 140lbs.
Dude..teach me 🔥🔥🔥🔥
hey I loved video man , just wondering how many square feet or feet x feet did use to create that space with the foam titles
Hey brotha, each puzzle mat is roughly 2x2 ft, I have 4 puzzle matts splayed out length wise, and 3 width. Hope that helps my bro!
nice man were is the zipper on the dummy located ?
on the back ?
Hey brother there is no zipper, this dummy came fully stuffed at 90lbs and stitched tight
It's not available currently in Amazon :( where else can I find it?
This specific dummy should be found at century martial arts website, give that a try!
@@SENSEIJASON ya I checked bro, there also it shows as out of stock.
Hmm there might be a shortage world wide because many people may have invested in one during the pandemic. And maybe a lot of BJJ/Judo clubs bought them too so that members can start training again without partnering with real human.
Can you pls do more of this
Yes for sure in the future
What do you fill your dummy with or do you buy it already filled?
The century grappling dummy was already filled when it arrived.
🔥
Nice
Thank you! And happy new year!
Try not to sit so far up on the body when in the top mount position, you lose a lot of control of the body the further up you sit. Also, never rest your arm on the ground in any gnp situation, you're setting yourself up to be put in an arm bar or a reversal.
Thanks for the tips brother!
I want the same doll to practice where I get it
century martial arts
I’m thinking of getting this one for wrestling and judo. Do you still recommend this dummy?
Would be a good investment!
Hey Man I wanna buy one like yours how much does your dummy wieght?
It weighs 90lbs
If I use a combat sports dummy do you think the arm is long enough for a Judo throw
It is a perfect length. Grappling dummy is like heavy bag for strikers, not quite the same as real opponent, but can teach you direct principles that transfer to combat. Same thing for dummy, it is like a heavy bag for grapplers (judoka, wrestlers)
can you punch and kick the grappling dummy without it breaking? cool video
Yes it is excellent for that!
@@SENSEIJASON cool thanks for the quick reply jason
🙏🙏🔥🔥
Where to get dummy like this????
Check link in description
How much did you pay for this dummy? I end up using boxing bag 150cm and fill it with unused cloths and shirts. Very expensive here in my country, cost more than US$ 600
🤔🤔🤔
It was maybe around $200/$300, I can't remember the exact price, it was a long time ago :)
👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
is there a way you can stand up the dummy
Well, the maximum it can stand on its own is about 1-2 seconds. I'm not sure of any method to keep it standing. I suppose you can put it against a wall.
What are all the martial arts you study
Primarily Karate, Muay Thai, Boxing, Judo, and BJJ. Karate is my base martial art, and I'd say Judo comes in at a second. Everything is supplemental to my skills.
Is there any alternative for this dummy or other website where I can buy this grappling dummy ? Or do you know other great grappling dummy's under 300 euros ?
Combat sports:
amzn.to/3Ww2p9y
Thanks, but the shipping is not possible to my country, and the Century dummy is out of stock. Do you Knox any other alternatives that are under $300 ?
The closet thing would be getting a heavy bag, and just throwing it on the ground.
However it won’t have arms or legs.
There are also the dummies where you fill up with your own material, but I feel like those types are poorly made.
This is all the info I have.

how heavy is it?
90 pounds
How do you fill this dummy?
this dummy in particular already came stuffed
I've used my dummy so much that most of the stuffing has gone down to it's legs so its really leg heavy is there any way i can fix this?
hmm..so far this hasn't happened to my dummy, so can't really tell you much, if most of the weight is going to the legs, that must mean there is room to fill inside the dummy. Are you able to refill it? or it is stitched shut?
@@SENSEIJASON Yeah it's stitched shut so there is no way i can refill it thanks anyway!
@@SENSEIJASON Oh and my dummy is also kinda like bend over in a way so i don't know if you know how to fix that maybe?

@@SENSEIJASON wo thank you!!!
Haha jk that’s dope
whats the weight
90lbs
is it heavy like a person
Feels heavier because of the dead weight. When you grapple with a human, they are supporting their own weight, which reduces almost half of the force your have to grapple with. When you train with a grappling dummy, it is a complete dead weight, you ever have to drag anybody or pick someone up who doesn’t want to comply? That’s the feeling. Initially it will feel heavy and awkward to Balance and maneuver, but eventually you will become freakishly strong and intelligent when handing the dummy. 90lbs is a good weight for me, I walk around 145lbs.
@@SENSEIJASON would you say it’s worth buying? i’ve been really into mma lately but no where is open to train, i have all the shin guards, gloves, pads etc but i want to up my grappling game.
Dude! Hell yes! I love my grappling dummy (not in a weird way)! The convenience of training anytime of day you want, the ability to take punches and nonstop ground n pound, the ability to be thrown over and over. Dude they are priceless and a must have if you are a serious mma athlete. It’s like a heavy bag for boxers, the grappling dummy does just that for grapplers. They are both indispensable tools if you want to keep training outside the gym or do not have access to training partners. Just keep in mind though, that when you throw it to the floor, you are the one picking it back up. Normally your partner would get back up, but with the dummy keep in mind you are doing the work. Other than that, it will actually make you stronger!
@@SENSEIJASON thanks man i appreciate it i’ll order one as soon as i can, may god be with you 🙏
