I knew something was off the moment we stepped foot in that bunker. The dimmed light in the room when you meet the cannibals impersonating governor’s kind of emphasized the whole impression . I wasn’t wrong
Most of them went mad. There is a note you find that someone they ate was suffering of some kind of brain disease. Most of them got sick and went mad. The illness is real, akin to the mad cow disease, and it is transmitted by eating the infected human brain. Most obvious symptoms: trembling arms and incontrollable laughter. This disease is also hinted in the "Book of Eli" where he identifies cannibals by their trembling hands..
I'm playing the enhanced version and where miller kills the major in the control room its got weird white clouds coming off the floor? is this normal or is there something wrong I don't know if its the RT or not
Dude when I listened to the audio of the radio call with coleneol or however you spell it idk how he wasn’t a bit suspicious of how the radio operator was talking
Two recommendations if I add. It's phenomenal and one of the few series in which I will go out of my way to make the game as hard as possible. Since the sense of oppressive, monstrous, "millions dead" atmosphere of Metro's particular apocalypse is its selling point and legacy, I feel like that is done some justice when a simple, small pack of mutants begins circling me, and I panic as I check ammo, slap a compensator on my rifle, and come up with an actual plan... Other games have you shoot and kill... Metro puts you in this dudes clothes, and you get to fuck with all the gimmicks of that, out of necessity even, because otherwise you break shit, waste ammo, make too much noise, run out of gas mask filters, forget to plug the hole in your gas mask and choke anyway... It's not impossibly hard, and this is why I enjoy it so much: it demands a slow, methodical, tactical approach to almost every fight, checking corners, listening, timing, environmental awareness, etc, because your gear inhales and exhales a steady cycle of batteries dying, filters clogging, guns jamming, etc. It's so much fun. So yeah. Play redux if you haven't, and play this because it's turning out to be my favorite in the series, after 2033 maybe more than depending how I feel when I finish it.
Yep, according to the Metro Wikia article on him, before the war he was a marine guard at the US embassy in Russia who managed to get into the metro before the bombs dropped and afterwards ended up in Polis, joining the order.
Yes Im glad that Colonel Miller allowed him to join Spartan Order, because after the apocalypse its not about if you are Russian or American (maybe in Reich) but to fight for People of Metro and defend Metro... Also Order needed people
Theres also a line Sam says that If he finds a boat he would go back to the US and he jokingly says he hopes he still remembers how to speak English. I can probably guess Sam is either his real name or they call him that for the Uncle Sam reference
Most twists in video games are predictable. However I highly doubt you just knew their was gonna be a bunker of cannibal Russians lol. I knew in my soul they we're gonna be bandits, but cannibal bandits? Nope didn't see that coming, and that ending scene was great ha
@@ChristsVisage Agree with you, I believe a person say they saw the "twist" of those in the Ark not being who they claim to be being right. But seeing they were cannibals, Nope don't believe anyone saw that twist since their was no indication of them being cannibals on the way there (especially as their behavior was akin to Bandits, especially all the overturned shit on the way there, reminded me of the Bandits from Last Light's "Bandits" level when they would overturn the trolley cars of those they killed). You're not "edgy" and so smart to see these's predictable VG twists anymore when it's obvious to everyone Owen
I hate this part. I don’t believe somebody can be as dumb as Miller or Artyom, and it took me out of the game completely. I didn’t believe their characters. Then you get there and big surprise it’s cannibals, haven’t seen that before; and everyone of them is a 40 year old guy that looks basically identical. They’re dancing around like gay Rambos shooting at me from the hip and I have to turn it off and call it a day. Oh and they take my wife, who I never speak to btw, who Miller and I took along for the ride because we are utter idiots.
The Combat Medic It’s not bate, mate. I’m dead serious, the dialogue and characters in this game are terrible and the fact that people eat it up is extremely strange. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised anymore when movies like Jurrasic World are popular. The cannibal part wasn’t as bad knowing they were affected by radiation later on. The characters and their interactions however just got worse as the game went on.
To be fair on the Miller part. The Invisible Watchers were able to fake being legit with the Government (since with the Ark as it is and what we find out, it means the Government never made it there, and so the IW's lied out of their asses, and got lucky Miller was too much of an old dog and patriot to look further into their claim, and the "Battle of D6" and the loss of ALOT of Spartan Rangers before and DURING the battle thanks to the Red Line along with losing his legs likely made it worse). Miller was desperate to believe that all his hard work in preparing for the government he was loyal to still being around hadn't gone to waste (sad as it might be, remember that he sacrificed ALOT to establish the Order, only using them as a force against the Mutants and bandits to prepare them for when they would likely be fighting NATO, which as Sam guessed was likely no longer around, or no longer gave a damn. D6 looked like things were getting better.....the Korbut and his damn Red Line had to happen, ruining everything because they wanted D6 to rule over the people of the Metro with the weapons within, rather then "prepare for the inevitable" in Miller's mind, as he did prepare to destroy D6 then let a monster like Korbut who would likely kill untold amounts of those still surviving just to gain full control of the Metro.....and all of it was made pointless as there is no occupying army, no government, no....nothing. Just everybody doing business "as usual"). It's likely why he quieted down abit after this, especially in shaming Artie for his actions in forcing him to commit "treason", which isn't saying much or have any meaning seeing how the IW were bigger traitors for claiming themselves legit by a government even THEY had no idea still existed (though I will agree he was abit TOO naive). As for Artie, I think he was just trusting Miller to be "right this time", same with Anna. And Anna was STILL a ranger don't forget, so she's a ranking member of the Order (and they don't know about the Cancer, I don't think Anna knew up till this point, still stupid of her to HIDE IT afterwards). Remember that in 2033 and Last Light Artie had as much respect for Miller as he had for Hunter, but meeting the Dark One Child and finding out the Dark One's had meant no harm and wanted peace and of course had wanted him to be their envoy (and all that ended up accomplishing was him forgetting that fact and blowing them up, hyped on by those he looked up to telling him what to do over his own choices). In Exodus before this point, Artie trust in Miller was shaken when he discovered Miller knew the truth of the outside world still functioning and kept it from him, however Miller DID give some reasonable excuses for his actions (and did try to dissuade Artie even if by shaming him for not "acting like a man" and putting his wife and responsibilities ahead of "dreams".....though understandable since the last time Artie "followed orders", he killed his "adopted family", and even though the Dark One child forgive him. That guilt doesn't go away easily. and the cause of doing it either. I won't fault you that there is some bad writing here and there in this story, but since the Ark isn't that important other then showing that the Government was not around and the Invisible Watchers were an unofficial conspiracy faking their legitimacy (and even that's unimportant, other then giving Miller a wake up call that he was too easily duped. Plus since I'm killing an enemy I'll not SEE AGAIN after this level. I can forgive reusing assets. Honestly it was an excuse to "go wild" which I like ever so often when the Metro games throw these's at you (still remember "Defense" from 2033, that was fun LOL).
@BenkethePirate the troops and workers going insane also could come from their morals gnawing at their minds. Remaining morals kuru and the mental strain of killing and eating people for 20 years would destroy ones sanity

Those cannibals are worse than humanimal
Most of them went mad. There is a note you find that someone they ate was suffering of some kind of brain disease. Most of them got sick and went mad. The illness is real, akin to the mad cow disease, and it is transmitted by eating the infected human brain. Most obvious symptoms: trembling arms and incontrollable laughter. This disease is also hinted in the "Book of Eli" where he identifies cannibals by their trembling hands..
Considering that some of the people they were eating had radiation, I think they were about to transform into the humanimals aventually
Sanctuary welcomes you!
You come for the cutscene at 10:44
sam and idiot are my favorite character

Dude when I listened to the audio of the radio call with coleneol or however you spell it idk how he wasn’t a bit suspicious of how the radio operator was talking
The difference in ammo you and me had whilst playing makes me think that I'm playing the game wrong.
Can i ask you is it good game to buy?
So far it's really good if you liked the last two games you will love this
Two recommendations if I add.
I picked it up last Sunday And have been enjoying it a lot.
Jup Now Buy it, you wont regret it!
2 years late, but absolutely! I picked it up 3 months ago and I’ve been having a blast playing since

@@andershargrave7246 thank you for the translation.
Are they Spetsnaz
G3tshot Heett basically the post apocalyptic version of Spetsnaz
Wait sam is an american ?
Yep, according to the Metro Wikia article on him, before the war he was a marine guard at the US embassy in Russia who managed to get into the metro before the bombs dropped and afterwards ended up in Polis, joining the order.
Yes Im glad that Colonel Miller allowed him to join Spartan Order, because after the apocalypse its not about if you are Russian or American (maybe in Reich) but to fight for People of Metro and defend Metro... Also Order needed people
Hunter in metro 2033, american.
Theres also a line Sam says that If he finds a boat he would go back to the US and he jokingly says he hopes he still remembers how to speak English. I can probably guess Sam is either his real name or they call him that for the Uncle Sam reference
Bruh. Why are u scoping people downrange? Just point and fire away!!!
I adore this game but your nonspeaking character unable to warn of the more and more obvious trap is pretty annoying
The silence of the main character allows the player to associate himself with him.
I saw this twist coming from a light year away, so lame
You knew that the government bunker was gonna be full of cannibal Russian who would later cause you to find out that Anna is dying?
Highly doubt that.
I agree. I even guessed it was going to be cannibals, it's such a common trope in post apocalypse to lure people in and eat them.
ЕШЬ!
I'm just distracted by how terrible this guy is at the game. You work for Polygon or something?
u slow af
RobSchneiderIsAStapler Yeah this is definitely bait
