    $30k - $40k is cheap. I'm keeping this at the top of my list. Would love to fly to work at a constant 90mph every clear day

      The money is easier to come up with than the right place to takeoff/land from and it's not IFR so you're stuck at work if the weather gets bad or it's dark

    a real sign of the times when 90%+ of the comments are negative! it's sad that we can't seem to find the positive in things anymore...if you don't like it, move on. no need to be ignorant.

    Oddly enough, I think this thing would be great to mount 2 airsoft miniguns on and have fun at your local field.
    Edit: to those of you saying that the rotor wash would effect the pellets.... No it does not. I don't know how much you guys understand about physics, but once the rounds leave the muzzle, they're already nearly out from under the rotor wash. They're under the effect of the wash for less than one hundredth of a second, meaning the wash has almost no influence on the trajectory of the rounds. Furthermore, any influence on them is uniform, meaning each round would still change to the same new direction.
    Also, a quick UA-cam search will find you videos of people playing airsoft with actual helicopters.

      downdraft from the rotors would throw off your shots, add the winds, you won't hit a barn door at 50 yards.

    • @pauld.b7129
      @pauld.b7129 6 років тому +3

      Exactly what he said. This is why aircraft generally don't use say NATO rounds, they don't travel fast enough. Has to have a way high fps to make up for the wind resistance, rotor wash and your forward speed. Although i bet you could still have some fun shooting paintballs out the window 😂

      Military helicopters routinely mount M134s and m240s both of which are chambered in 7.62mmx51mm NATO. I'm not quite sure what you are refering too.

    Auto rotation ability is basically a "SHTF" feature... If the power goes out, you run out of gas, or some other butt puckering incident while you're still in the air, the rotors will keep spinning enough that you can PROBABLY still land safely.

    Guys like us I forgot... the cylic stick between your legs! the basic formation is a figure eight, and then a 90 degree figure eight on top of it like a clover formation. one in one direction then switch, then switch, then switch, then switch....add power then pull the collective a smidge...every input needs continuous management all the time. remember touch control, sometimes just thinking about it is all the motion you need. next thing you know your in the air.. both figure eights can go in either direction depends on the need to control.
    the tail rotor needs to be worked to counter the frame or body rotation.
    the body goes right with the blades so you need right pedal to compensate, pushing air right.
    nobody said you had to free fly it first build yourself a frame on the ground spring loaded, start it and get comfort able, then apply controls to learn how much you need, that is what the military does...they dont put you in a chopper and tell you to get troops, do they. BUT get formal trainng first, safety safety safety...but it is NOT as hard as you think!
    have fun......

    • @GuysLikeUs
      @GuysLikeUs  6 років тому

      Hahahaha! Thanks! Yes I would have to get training and lots of it before I fly. It sounds easy enough when you explain it but with my luck my big dumb @$$ would crash it on first take off!!!! Hahahahaa....Thanskagain for the comment!

    • @willieboy8798
      @willieboy8798 6 років тому

      thats is the point of the hoola hoop making it so sluggish and not being able to ground flip it. in that continuous correcting just to get it in the air...then comes wind alloft and needing to maintain the previous controling..the controling on the grond is different than the controlling at slow flight and then at high flight.
      I may get brave enough in it to fly over the woods that is next to his larger garage on my next trip in the fall.
      I got a kick out of coacsing his kids to try it.. we both stood on the skids so they could feel what the controls are doing...i think they will be piloting it in a few years. I met him in the Army we were both Crew Chiefs on Kiowa and Hueys.

      you will crash in 5mph wind? are you serious...?

    • @boashna
      @boashna 6 років тому +2

      The effect of fluid movement or air movement are expediential meaning if 4mph an hour is producing 4lb of force on your sail, wing, etc the 5mph will produces 6lb and not 5lb.
      in a boat , aircraft etc you have a cube effect .. a 2oft boat vs 21ft boat difference is not 1 feet because typical measurement is 20ft long 8ft wide and 2ft depth and when you multiply all you get 20X8X2=320 vs 21X8X2=336 or 5%
      Bigger is safer in Auto ,boat and aircraft because they are effected by outside forces like road hazards, waves or turbulence as much ..

    crashed mine due to a factory default. furl line collapsed. Luckily I had just taken off. other then a few scratches I was ok....can't say that about the craft though. I will say this. comp did take care of me. I'm thinking they didn't wanna have this go to court or get a bad name cause of them being fairly new they didn't want to get any bad press so early on. All that being said...the craft is an amazing craft. The guys were very nice and helpful and seemed genuinely concerned about my well being and not just a court case. I don't mean for any of this to sound like I'm putting the craft or the company down cause that not what I'm doing. simply just mentioned what happened to me. turns out the fuel line prob was just on my craft and not a problem for all. So yeah...I'd would chk all fuel lines very well be taking off just to be safe. what we ended up doing was have somebody watch the lines while giving it throttle to mk sure everything was OK the first couple of flights. Now everything's fine. hope this helps somebody. have a great time in the air and be safe. maybe we'll pass in the night like 2 ships....lol. 😂

    if you bolt a pvc pipe hoop on the bottom (skids) it wont flip, it will change the handling just enough to enable you to fly it as a beginner. easy to add weight to it. Once you can fly it you can put a computer ballast on it like a bow hunter to counter the wind changes and smooth the ride out. Might as well make the weight of the ballast a extended range gas tank. the tank is the center of the ballast. if your wondering Engineering. thats how they teach you to fly bug smashers isnt it, ever hear of a pilot learning on a 747?????

      I was in the army rotor wing aviation for five years as a crew cheif, some days I was only on the ground for hours a day. almost anybody can learn to fly one it is all together different than a plane to fly, glide. But the first thing to remember is TOUCH CONTROL tiny inputs and sometimes allot of them, it is all hydraulic on most of them. the same goes for RC I put a hoola hoop on mine I was hovering in thirty minutes. when you make your hoola hoop on the bottom go past the rotors by six inches, then attach hard plastic strips in an x overthe top by six inches. protec the rotor if it does flip. that will also boost your confidence in flying if your not going to trash it on crash....
      So the copter is protected by a dome of plastic....go have a blast!
      I was flying all over the place, I left the cage on it the entire time of flying for ten years in SCal....I let kids fly it, people of all kinds...most never dumped it. Same for gliders put a flat dome on the glider, it kills the aero as you can imagine but you learn to fly it faster....

    • @bmw328igearhead

      Jetson One needs to be bigger.
      4 Passenger/1500lb capacity
      16 rotor
      Battery flight time of 30 minutes
      A fuel engine running a generator to recharge the batteries in flight, with say, a 50 gallon fuel capacity to extend range.

      It is actually under ultralight class. You do not need a license but they recommend 8 hours of training so you get the fill of how to operate it safely. In 20 plus years of service only 3 have gone down. 2 due to homebuilt kits that had some things improperly done at home. Say that is pretty damn good odds it is safe.

    already watched another video on these. for that price it is a kit that you build. if they build it they are 100.000.or more depending on how you want it.

      Robert Rockwell $43,000 if you build it. If they build it’s $54,000 but if you live in the US you have to build at less 51% of it.

    Do you need a license for this thing?

    • @harrybright636
      @harrybright636 4 роки тому

      No you don't need a licence to operate this machine, when I got mine and I have never flown one b4 I used the harness system to the ground which only allows it to lift off the ground by a meter, in turn if you make a mistake when you try to lift off it stops up tipping over, just practice till you get it right took me less than a day to release my bird love the freedom as I use her to fly to where others cant get to do Gold prospecting, which has paid for its self time and time again. I will get the new 2 seater they are building and doing trials on at the moment, anyway good luck when you get yours and I recommend that you do resale prices are still good cheers

    The MZ 202 has a lower burn rate on fuel consumption than the 285...MZ is 64 HP and burns around 4 to 5 gals depending on manuevers....and gives the pilot the same lift and speed like ,the 285....but with greater time in the air...maintenance is easier as well.
