I've been pondering about this since you mentioned it Matt, I certainly don't have your skill or any machinery to do it though. The beam I envisaged was similar to a De-dion tube on the Caterham, with the axle behind the hub centre it gives you longer links giving less angle arch changes, it allows a bolt on or weld on carrier with access to press in the stub-axle and even use that for the coil-over if desired. Worth looking at some Caterham photos for ideas perhaps? Stu
Nice, You could always put a gusset on the axle in the future, if it flexes to much. Or make / buy a carbon fibre tube. Easy Composite have loads of sizes available and they're not far from you.
Thanks for the comment buddy, to build a project to have to use shop stuff or you won’t end up with a project, I like to show the workings out and stuff over just flat out building something as I think that’s more important and the viewers may pick up some tips and tricks. I’m sorry if you wasn’t happy with it, hopefully you will stick around and maybe enjoy another episode Matt
I think I see what you have in mind but was so locked into your film that I was gutted when it stopped - looking forward to the next one!
Thanks buddy 👍🏻

This thing will be a one off for sure but I may make two so I have a spare or even two different width to try different wheel off seats

I did think about that, a guest that spans the width and sits a inch or two off the axle in the middle
👌

Looks like fun turning polyethylene. Not messy at all. I think I see where you're going with this. Kinda. Looking forward to seeing it.
It’s a pain in the bottom, it is better with a aluminium tip in the tool but I couldn’t be arsed to change it haha
