    Best detailed instruction on Yoko Tomoe Nage I've seen so far combined with first video with examples is great. Nice translating by the way too as that's hard on the fly and deserves credit. Thank You.

    I’ve never been able to pull off yoko tomoe nage (side ways sacrifice/circle throw). People have tried to use it on me and I usually just cart wheel out of it or squat down to stack on them if they don’t get me off balance. Work on those cart wheels and backwards shoulder rolls, and body awareness/control if you want to avoid being thrown by this.

    Very good instruction sensei. I always had problems with tomoe nage since I have long legs. Go judo!🥋

      OLOHEKAI wouldn't that be yoko tomo nage?

    • @OLOHEKAI
      @OLOHEKAI  6 років тому +2

      Yes, it could be considered a “Yoko Tomoe Nage” although he states it directly as a variation on the classical throw rather than as a specific definition of a variation. Really it makes sense from a cultural context for him to put it in that way.

    How are they black belts but have never heard of this throw???

      It's a variation of a throw you learn in white belt. There are tons of variations, and black belts usually know techniques, but details from experts are valuable.

      I am black belt but I was never interested in this technique. Even though I knew it. I guess when you wanna make some changes with your style you are looking for variations. Just my personal situation here
