How u got 39 subscriber with uploading a single video 🤣
but, Manisha, media outlets, including yours, are still controlled by only a set group of ppl who have connections in high places, like Pranoy Roy for example. Democratizing news, decenttralising its control centres, these arent there yet, IMO! not to mention, the absolute lack of understanding of south India, by "national" media & many youtube channels alike!
You rocked!!

I thought "Looks doesn't matter" was a cop-out for ugly people, as an ugly person myself that's what I used to think to stay positive about my bleak chances.
😅

Salam to you.

I have several times gone back and paused to catch every word of this video to get it's essence.A commendable job. Thanks News laundry.

"RAVISH KI REPORT" series and Ravish ji is the only hope for indian tv news journalism
True
Ravish sir should be given bharat ratna..
Day is not so far..
Award name Propgenda ravish

Loved the addition of Madhu Trehan and Shammi Narang..
Gawddamn dude, This has to be the ultimate Newsance episode.

Firstly! Wow!!! What an episode! Just wow! And huge shout out to the founders of Newstrack for their pioneering effort to bring news to people.
Also a huge shoutout to OG Ravish Kumar. He has been calling a spade a spade no matter the government. Hats off!!
Wow what a brain wash from pappu and tukde tudke gang
*News laundry is just a GEM of this era. The fearless journalist.*

Extremists are bad, whether it is right of left.
@@ayanmandal834 Why fear right wing, every soldier in indian army is right wing extremists. Left always supports enemy of nation. Their deeds and statements always helped enemies of India. Left creates fake

Even after 1 year this episode gives me goosebumps. Hats off to the Newslaundry team.
"There's something very poetic that a Zee News anchor going down a well in search of TRPs"
After 75 years of independence this is the first time I am more interested to watch this video from news laundry than the PM at Red Fort..
They have degraded the value of PM Post :(
‘Saare darwaaze ab right mein he khulenge’ - in Shammi narang’s voice - whose line was that? Too good. This is TV Gold. This is news Gold. I wish I could shout from the rooftops how good this episode is.
Much love Much Love Much gratitude.
Oho welcome Mr Shammi Narang…so nice to see you.it’s overwhelming to see our polite decent newsreader👍👍👍
This is the only thing I felt like watching this Independence Day.
Fantastic work 👍👍👍 I am 45 years old and I literally have been witness of each word you guys said... Now I am proud subscriber of Newslaundy and like news outlets 😊😊 I am subscribing it as my democratic duty as citizen... Let's hope and pray our democracy will be saved by following "Pay to keep news free" concept 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
just realised, manisha and team, you are part of this history, a history still in the making.
Proud to be part of Newslaundry through little contribution.
Brilliant episode, so well explained! RESPECT, KEEP RISING!
Oh Manisha and team! This is heartbreakingly nostalgic! And I'm only five minutes into this episode. And thank you for getting Shammi on air! I was suddenly a child who was fascinated by the black and white, and then colour, TV back then! ❤️
Please start a podcast with Shri. Shammi Narang giving him a chance to read the real news. That would be a really good reply to the other group.
when she introduced ravish,i got goosebumps....He was doing amazing work as always
Shammi Narang ji still remained the same till this date and time. Even Mr n Mrs senior Goswami get nervous and get shiver, when they look at their boy.
Will always remember the Doordarshan days.
19:48 “Aur inke papa log, India ki GDP badhane ja rahe hain”
That was epic. Deadpan sarcasm at its best.
I laughed so hard at that. Ravish was and is way ahead of his time.
and today you dropped masterpiece mam!!!
hatsoff to the entire team of newslaundary.
Thanks for watching Abhay! Do share the episode so more and more people watch!!

You guys took us 40 years back and it was good to see the iconic news readers after a long long time and some news programs. Thank you...very well made..
70% of people are in rural area, without Internet, try starting a newspaper for them, they are good readers.
How do u think u get newspaper with more than dozen coloured pages at the cheap price of 4-5 Rupees? Newspapers get all their revenue through advertisements they put. To start a newspaper u need heavy investment in infrastructure, people, network & all that and more to it a revenue model to sustain it, which is not guaranteed by subscription based model. Advertisers help to sustain it but at the price of compromised journalistic ethics & principles which defeat the very purpose of journalism. So, let them remain on the digital platform & help them to grow bcoz it is a future & also it's not that hard to reduce digital divide in India..
I 've been waiting for madhu trehan for long. I love her बेवाकी in journalism . Love you newslaundry.
More of Shammi Narang sir on Newslaundry, specifically in Newsance or टिप्पणी ❤️
This episode is collectors item ! Only if we could just burn a “VHS” copy of it and order it for private collection :))
Yes newslaundary should think about it.
Physical media can be sold as collector edition or limited edition like we have for video games
Heartening to see Ravish sticking to his guns till date. Superb episode... what a journey for TV news!

Well made episode. Kudos to NL team for such an amazing history lesson.
Salute to Ravish Kumar. He was a great journalist back then and still rocking. 🙏
Best episode till date ... Lots of love and wishes.
So much hard work to bring such a marvelous documentary on history of news. Thanks.
This perfectly summarizes why we should protect our freedom of media and freedom of speech
that was a well researched and artfully presented piece, thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't help but feel a little nostalgic.
Beautiful presentation ❤️
Respect to Shammi Narang ji and Madhu Trehan ji. 🙏
Happy Independence day to all 🙂
This will be a very good revision for the new generation.
240+ dislikes are of viewers who decided to continue their "suffer" in the same "TV news trains ".🤣😅
Watching this for first time, Shammi Narang, Sarla Maheshwari, Salma Sultana... amazing days. Salma Sultana and Pankaj Pachauri were with BBC Radio hindi services...A comprehensive documentary.

Never imagined that I would feel nostalgic about DD News 😄
Wowww such a trip down nostalgia lane! I remember when Aaj Tak had alien news on every other day, we used to discuss it in school 😂😂
I suddenly feel old now :/
Can't believe you got him to feature in your episode. Proud of having subscribed to NL.
I remember the rescue of Prince. I was in class 5th that time and that rescue was just like biggest thing happening in the country.
I wonder where that Prince guy is now...🤔
Really liked the BA AA part especially Arnub's face on Jesus. He truly is the new Jesus of TV newsance.
Loved the way you began the show, thanks. Seeing Shammi made me nostalgic.
I have been subscribing to Newslaundry since 2019. Never regretted and shall never.
I can see a lot of work has gone into putting this together... A lot more was probably there to be shown, given we've seen so much... Good effort !
Manisha ji, you brought those days alive when we viewed news and programmes in air force mess while dining. Nostalgia! Kash koi lauta de mere bite hue din.
I shared this video with my dad.
Of course i had to break things down in vernacular but it settled a lot of differences.
He has his healthy doubts now.
Otherwise his idea was simple India has become the world leader since 2014 and all the sacrifices normal indians face are penance for electing past govts.
Thanks Manisha and Newslaundary team.

Down memory lane:I watched kandahar plane highjack on zee news at 1990.that was my first contact with 24/7 news Channel. It was huge thing for me, because our house haven't tv then, and we all 9 years old kid gathered to a friends house and watched the news in playtime interval. Fun thing is during loadsheding we all 14 kids played highjack game with a fridge box(which is theft from a neighbour auntie.)
I never thought of news subscriptions seriously until today. Thank You
I can't forget this word "towering news personalities " when ever it comes to my mind I start laughing 😆
Happy 75th Independence Day to the Newslaundry family, this is best newsence episode since i have been following you for a year. The evolution of news, newspapers and journalists have come, a long way. And yes ravish kumar had the guts, to take the name of former Prime Minister in a, live television.
Hats off. 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 👏
Watching and listening to Shammi Narang...... Pronoy Roy - The world this week..... and many more.... One of the best era of TV News.
This is really one of the remarkable things for 75th Independence Day.
Kudos.
Manisha Suno...
Happy Independence Day! 😍
Best episode ever.
Ohhhhhhh I remember the good old days, I miss them my country was so good
19:27 ravish was savage at that time also. Taking digs at essentialsof a nation....sadak, khamba, manmohan Singh, literacy, school, gdp.
😂😂😂😂
Excellent. It was great to go down memory lane and revisit these milestones, some of which I actually have memories of my own about! Like renting the newstrack video from the local video library and calling friends over to watch it together. You skipped BITV, but that's ok. Keep up the good work. From a Happy Subscriber.
"From the mumbai studio to bla bla bla" was the best
This is what you call a "real journalism"
Hatt off to you manisha for showing us how the journalism has evolved through out the year. I think you could have added the vernacular press act by British.
Very well thought out, researched, and presented!
Realized midway through the episode that the concept of stations comes from Shammi Narang's Delhi metro voice! His voice in the Delhi metro is super memorable.
After a long time, Respected Shami narang sir voice listened.
Thank you sir to be a part of TV newsance.
NDTV were champions of news since beginning.....
This was great, now I realise my parents' generation never really consumed proper news in their youth.
And now you 'think' your generation consumes 'proper' news in your youth. Earlier at least they didn't consume hate in the garb of news.
@@sujithkumar2041 First tell me from which generation do you belong, if you are before millennial generation, you should realize that news now a days is not served to you, but today you have to use your mind and find a logical opinion on the news. Today we are lucky that we have lots of sources of news, we can see every aspect of the same news ,can hear lots of opinion from all side, and can form our own opinion, ourselves. One need to have little patience and logical thinking capability to have a valid opinion on a news. Our older generations didn't get those opportunity. News were served to them by govt. Today we can search for truth, and can avoid the lies, only you need a sane mind for that.
They did. With newspapers.
Omg as a kid i remember my father use to watch world this week
Wow what a Newsance Manisha keep it up.... Never such episode in any other channels God Bless you
One for the algorithm...
But, really guys you have made news worth watching again...

One of the best episode in the history of newsance because it contains old days
one of the best ever episode in your history
I can't believe how much I learned in 30 mins. It's really evergreen.
The most important thing that you missed is the grueling interviews of boe-tied Thapar :)
Thapar was doing those interviews in his bow ties, hissing and snarling at panelists long before these guys were born.
I still remember his famous Jethmalani interview ☺️
25:37 "Arnab's debates became a catharsis for this man" - not sure if talking about Meghnad or typical Indian Middle class male
Its very referencing to see Shammi Narang ji after so many years. I am a millennial and i can proudly say that I grew up watching them.
Undeterred, unafraid and unapologetic journalism- excellent work, thank you!
