la maquina no tira en colores, lo que hace es cristalizar los atomos de carbono con mayor o menor potencia primero quema mucho y despues poco por eso lo deja mas claro
I believe this mark used "mark contour" to do an outline around the engraving area after the inner space was filled. You can uncheck "mark contour" in the hatch settings to skip this step which will lessen this effect.
Amazing work. When you clean it at the end, is this the same as "annealing" the material? Beside of the final look, it helps protecting the surface? thanks.
Not exactly annealing, since it is basically lightly ablating the loose material off the surface to help clean and brighten things up. In some cases I would put that second pass in the same "category" as the anneal though, since we'll use it as a secondary pass to clean or enhance in some way. It can be used stand alone too as its own mark too, just depends on what you're looking for on results and what material you're working with.
Absolutely! Fiber galvo's are fantastic at marking/engraving and are super agile. Co2 is great too though, especially with organic materials like wood.
Hey, love your content. I want to sign up to support the channel and also to receive your parameters library. I see there are two options. Would either choice get me the parameters library?.
We have many machines tested and in our workshops now, but this project was done with a 30w JPT fiber laser from Mactron using a 110 lens and ezcad2. Here's the link: market.makerremix.com/laser-machines/galvo-fiber-lasers/mactron-mt-fp-series-jpt-20-30-50w-fiber-laser-engraving-machine-for-metal-plastic-engraving-and-cutting-work/
I have a question and I’m a nobe to laser and I just received a jpt 60w mopa laser. I don’t find all the parameters in my library. How do I acquire these for my ezcad2 program? Thanks
We have a starter parameter pack and also a community library available on our website :) We have videos on the channel here to help you import them, if that is needed as well.
Hello. I want to join your academy. The type of laser I have is a 60w JPT Mopa with 69 mm rotary axis. 110*110 mm lense with a working voltage of 110-120V and 50-60HZ. Will your Academy help me with settings etc? Thanks so much for your time. 😊
The LMA is mostly a means to support the existing content we upload for free for everyone but yes you'll absolutely find settings for that laser type by signing up as well as an amazing community of supporters that will help you work through the material. Hope to see you over there!
Hi, I'm learning a lot from you my friend. Hey when you did the "clean it up" run, i'm confused how it makes the black marking into white like that. Can you explain what's happening please?
Higher frequency (25 -> 45 khz) means less energy per pulse. Less energy gives a lighter look and does a better job pushing the carbon scoring out of the way leaving a nice clean finish!
In this video we used a 30w JPT Fiber from Mactron, and it's been great for engraving jewelry. If you wanted more capability/power, going up from there. You might be able to get by with a 20w, but for the cost difference, a 30w is probably the better buy unless you need an ultra portable light machine. There's links in the buying guide posted in the description if you want to check it out
If you head to the Laser Everything website, there is a link to our shared library right on the homepage. All made free, possible by the community support over at the Laser Master Academy, check that out too if you get value from the community resources :)

Prices have come down a lot over the last few years, but this model in its current upgraded version from the manufacturer is probably around $4k USD. It depends on the options/upgrades you want. Can check it out on the Maker Remix Market, Mactron has it listed
The outline is the spot before marking and it allows you to make sure everything is centered and straight before pulling the trigger. The red dot alone isn't sufficient for alignment.
@@LaserEverythingNot sure what the lens was but I just completely fucked my laser by turning the frequency down to 25kHz. it's completely dead and I need to send it back to raycus to have it fixed. I found in the literature later that the laser source is not designed to go below 40kHz and following your settings completely destroyed it. What's worse is that this happened in front of a customer looking to buy one of these lasers. I appreciate the advice but you should maybe consider warning people to look to the manufacturer specs for your specific machine before blindly following your settings because between this post and the last it has cost me thousands of dollars and completely ruined my day.
