Looks good man! Lots of good tips to better recreate it outside of China. Really nice video quality too.
Cheers, added a link to this video in a pinned comment under our Jianbing video. Really nice resource for those outside of China that don't wanna go super crazy like we did with the whole Jianbing pan/scraper set-up.
Chris, you and Andong must be twins, separated at birth; I'm huge fan. Hi to Steph, I always love her hair.
Lived in Beijing for a year and this was BY FAR one of my favorite dishes. Crisp, savoury, fresh, and probably most importantly, CHEAP! (Less than $1)!! Thank you for sharing this recipe!
动手能力很强!建议在鸡蛋液没有凝固之前撒上葱(spring onion),这样葱就不会粘在锅上了。
Thanks for the video, will be trying this out. When I was living in Beijing, I bought this twice a day from the same guy every single day. Once in the morning and once after work. The combination of the crispy and smooth textures as well as the spice and coriander was unlike anything I'd ever eaten before.
I can relate this thing is addictive when I stayed in china ate this every day.
Honestly this brings back a lot of memories, I want to make these so badly!
adding pork floss is awesome as well!!
The recipe is great but I used a crepe pan, with low sides, which I find more practical, when it comes to flipping the pancake 😊
Or even a flat griddle if you have access to one, since that’s what the street food vendors appear to be using.
@@ragnkja that's sounds great, too!
you can also try flipping your pan over and cooking on its bottom.
I saw one jianbing video and the batter was 100% mung beans and water. As the video stated in the beginning, so many variations.
Great video!
My chinese history teacher made these for my class at the end of the year in college and they were amazing. I havent been able to find anywhere in california that makes them!
what city do you live in?
@@wheninroam3248 it was in ventura. But now I live in a small town of 20k
@@tn00bz i was curious. i thought i might help you locate a good place near you. you can always use yelp to find a place.
Just finished making some. Thanks for the instructions. All the flavors blended nicely. Simply delish
I ate this everyday in China too, I used to buy it from a lovely young couple who were extremely clean and modern in their cooking.
They had a secret that I'll share with you, you can use plain tortilla chips (including Doritos) as your cuibing!
That's what they did and it was amazing.
Way more convenient than deep frying..
thanks for the tip it seems way easier now lmao
Nice recipe, 👍👏👌
Crepe makers are perfect for jianbing. I recommend experimenting with cheese/sausage slices for some nice western fusion of flavours.
Daaamn I can taste the jianbing and some cold Harbin in my mouth already lol
这个超实用,家里这么做很方便
I really got to thank you Andong! This is the right way we could prepare Jianbing in Australia!
I had these years ago and they're seriously a perfect on the go food!! Looking forward to recreating them at home ❤️
Tyrrells chips (sea-salted favor) taste exactly like Cuibing in the chinese pancake
Great recipe. Here are some things I've added to get my own personal version: add more water to the batter to make it more liquid (similar to crepe batter). Use medium/high heat and use a flat pan. Once you put in the batter in the pan, spread the batter and put the rest back to your bowl in order to get a thin jianbing.
Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to taste an 'authentic' jianbing yet, but I can tell that this recipe is pretty delicious.
Keep up the great work, Andong!
I love jianbing
Thank you. Made it! Sooooo good and so nostalgic!!! The wanton skins were such a great alternative
I lived in Beijing and this was my absolute favorite as well!!
i always watch those videos and think to myself: I'm never going to cook that :D
Would you consider doing a recipe on Shandong Jiānbing? The crepe batter seems to be more dough like, and the sauce seems different from all the Jianbing Guozi I had while living in Shanghai. I’d be interested to see what the differences were, but can only ever find detailed recipes on Jiānbing Guozi.
Thank you so much! We lived in SH for 2 years and in BJ for 7. SH jianbing is sooooo much better than Tianjin. We took our first swing at it today and did it pretty much right. We didn't know about the mix of flour for the batter, so THANK YOU for that.
The best thing I ate in China. A classic and delicious breakfast food.
I love jianbing😍. missing the cold Changchun weather along with it❤️
Hi, Nice video.
You mentioned that the batter is made from different grains which are difficult to get outside of China.
I was wondering what they might be?
If you are able to be detailed about that, also please comment as to proportions.
Thanks much.
Wouldn't it have been easier to use a French crepe pan / crepe rateau to make the Jianbing?
I love how you present the way to make jianbing 😆 so fun
I think I'll make a texmex breakfast burrito version of this with tortilla chips for the crunch.
Great video brother! Way to make it easy and relatable outside of China!
Im in Hangzhou China trying to Remember the Chines name for this. soo good and one of My faves.
No wonder you can call all the native names of Chinese dishes. You.ve been in Shanghai haha . I’m based in SH and Berlin . Definitely following your channel
Another great recipe! Respect from the bitter land of Huang Taiji.
I got lucky finding mung bean flour at an Indian store. Maybe its a more common item in Indian cuisine, I couldn't find any at any of the 3 Asian markets in my town.
Buddy, sure it was mung bean flour and not chick pea?
I would also recommend adding sesame to garnish.
太有才了
i just check back your jianbing video after watching your pancakes around the world
This is perfect! Tastes fantastic.
I've been having that everyday in the last two months
This was super yum. Thankyou so much 🔥
I wonder if a pizza stone would work like that? i understand that pizza stones are rough but what if it was a layered over with clear starch sealant like rice several times to give it a smooth coating and then baked, just like grease is done over a cast iron plate, or well perhaps a plate cast iron plate for cooking tortillas might work too. as long as it's been seasoned? interesting though. thank you for the information on how to make one.
I started watching your videos with the hand pulled noodles episode and wondered how your pronunciation was so good, explained in this video! But since you lived in Shanghai you should know you need to make xiaolongbao, right?
Thank you this was awesome!
I never thought it's so easy!!
@@mynameisandong is it ok to use chickpea flour? Awesome Video
Doufuru sounds like a Japanese guy saying Tofu in a over the edge thick accent
面糊需要用高汤和,然后里面还需要加上八角小茴香桂皮花椒香叶等等打成的香料粉。海外天津人看饿了
That was an awesome recipe. Thanks so much und liebe Grüße
Looks so good.
My favourite jianbing place in Shanghai actually doesn't flip and leaves the egg on the inside. At the beginning I thought that's normal then I found out that it was one of the fewer places that did so, but I living, cleaner hands in the end hahaha
*Thanks Andong*
1:14 I’m impressed by your pancake pronunciation in Tianjinian👏👏
As always 😍 als ich in China gelebt habe war das auch mein all time favorite!
谢谢andong for the video 💕
Ach... Wie wäre es mal mit 小杨锅盔? Ist auch immer so ein toller Snack für zwischendurch
Chinese learning cooking skills from german
I'm having trouble finding the ingredients for the sauce. Is there a different name for fermented tofu and fermented bean paste?
I request a homemade recipe for Gyro
I don't like deep fake, I just like deep fry. 8 )
看起来很好吃吧,我没吃过这个。
Nice work, thank you!
In Rio they make them. also it is the same though of the "pastel"we have here
Yess!
I want to try it toooooo
Jianbing are sooooo good! I try to have one here in Shanghai at least once a week 🇨🇳🍳
Thank you for the wonderful recipes. Subscribed! 😁
Amor eterno

Lol great info&great attitude! Definitely subbed(: much love💖
I've also heard of people using potato chips in them
Nice!! Need to look for that mung bean flour. TY.
great video!!!!!! love it love your tips
Have you ever heard of qian Chen bing? If you have could you try doing a video on it?
Dude, you crack me up 🍎👍
Nice recipe👍
I can't get chinese pickles anywhere near me :c
What are you doing to me?! My Back Hurts (the reason why I did not cook today), it is 3:42 am, and I made the mistake to start one of your Playlists....Well...i am on my way to the Kitchen😂😂😂😂😂 thanks for the motivation 😂😊 (sorry for any spelling mistakes)
@@mynameisandong just some noodles with leek and garlicXD oh and salt, pepper, etc 😂 i always want to cook when I watch you.
can you recreate this video?
well done!!!
老哥6得一批,这都会做。。 你比很多中国人厨艺好多了
Just replace the deep fried wantaon wrap with potato chips, it will work or even better!
Hi Andong,
Although we are both from Berlin, i'll keep writing u in english, 好吗?
To pick u up on this subscribers' request moment, id like to ask u, wether u could bring up more starter dishes. I already, really appreaciate ur shredded potatoes recipe, a dish I loved ordering in China. In general, what impressed me the most somehow was the vast variety on awesome, cheap starter dishes there were. Id love to see more of them being published, 行不行?Urs Gudi
U can use potato chips to replace crackers
I am from Tianjin, I like your video. Wish you could have the spin tool to make it!
you might be able to do this with a crêpe-maker
Your written recipe says mung bean flour not mung bean starch. I researched it. There is no difference.
please tell us what the original dough ingredients are as well, here in Amsterdam everything is available

Awesome
Well unfortunately I took a wonton wrapper stated as "Soup Wonton" in my Asian supermarket, any downsides?
It will work, no problem!
well I guess when I instagrammed my brother in law's "'jian bing" I was wrong. It was a different bing. Bing is basically bread in Chinese. And I just wikipediaed a few different bings and guessed at that one.
Anyone know what that crunchy sesame seed bing is called?
you can find the franch crepes maker for this. its much better thust me.
你太厉害了!!!
lol finally made that currywurst sausage, was nice af thanks! will try this recipe and the eggplant recipe next cheers awesome channel👌
guess what? they have crèpes in european cooking too. you can use your crèpe maker to do this. yrwlcm
I'm going to name my son Cregg
in SH? 10 years ago it wasnt there though.... I lived there and never saw it...
Is this called 蛋餅 (dan bing) in taiwan?
They are different. He said at 0:15 that "there are so many different varieties of Chinese pancakes"... and dan bing is actually another kind of pancake. 煎饼 (jian bing) or 煎饼果子 (jian bing guo zi) was originated in Tianjin and popular in Northern provinces, but now it's widespread in all large cities in China.
JIANBING LADY! She's everywhere! But wonton wrappers instead of fried 都皮? I don't know man... A nasty bit of chicken and some lettuce would also be classic.
Okay, subbin!
santolify me too. Good enthusiasm and helpful tips.
Cregg 😂😂❤️❤️
Do a video for 蛋烘糕👻
