Does anyone remember going through a Kmart and hearing music from Kmart radio? I absolutely loved that kind of music which tells you how old I am LOL. Chris used it in all of his K Mart videos.
I worked at Kmart when I was in high school in the automotive section doing oil changes ! I always look forward to going to the cafeteria and getting a ham sandwich and a slushie !

Hey Wallie, great video! I live in Michigan and I am planning on visiting and filming this location soon. I live about 90 minutes away from Marshall, Michigan and I am very eager to see it as Michigan was where Kmart was born and I know it won't be long til this location is slated for closing. If it were to close, it would be an honor if we met and filmed this location on its last day as this will mark the end of Kmart in Michigan and perhaps the end for the whole company in general. Thank you for posting this video and location and I really hope to visit this place very soon and film it for my channel.
Marshall is one city I have driven through many times, but never stopped to explore. It’s less than an hour and a half away from me. Fun tidbit: Marshall was one of the finalists for a relocated from Detroit state capital, in fact they even built a building. Lansing was a compromise (it didn’t even really exist back then!)
I'm from Michigan, but not near Marshall. They have torn down at least 2 of the stores in my area. The Plymouth store was demolished along with the very first Kmart in Garden City. The Westland store is now a U-Haul location.
Yep, I'm right there in Plymouth. 5 Mile & Beck. Sad but that's what happens when we get old, all our memories are torn down for so called "progress" they're ripping all the forests down over here for condos and office buildings. Only forest that will ne around will be Mayberry Park, that's protected from the rich evil developers 😈

Dude! Those pizza 🍕 bags were AWESOME! HERE in Louisville Ky we no longer have any KMART stores. Really miss KMART. They had the best holiday decorations. Bought lots of Halloween and Christmas at KMART.
This video brings back a lot of memories. My first job was at a Kmart in Indiana. I worked there for four years (2009-2013). They’re still using the same signage, fixtures, even selling the same men’s house slippers! 😆 I don’t know if we even have any Kmarts left in Indiana which sucks because I miss shopping there.
I should check this location out it’s only 45 minutes away from me. I love the video it’s really cool to know you still love kmarts just as much as I do.
The Kmart in Adrian Michigan had that same layout and front except they had a "K Cafe" . The building itself still stands but half of it was sold to Big Lots for a new store. Adrian had 2 Kmarts at one time in the late 80s/early 90s. On top of also having a Hills store in that time frame. Nearby Hillsdale Michigan also had an Ames store that closed in early/mid 90s and is now Kroger.
I would love to have one of those bags! They closed our last Kmart in town back in 2014. I went and took some pictures the other day as it's still sitting empty. I'm gonna try to go film it when I get the chance!
The "plan-demic", I caught that Wallie! ❤ This video hurts, because it made me realize that probably sometime this year the very last K-Mart will close and they're never coming back.

I'm glad I got to visit this Kmart as well, just this past Saturday. The Little Caesar's was open when I went! I bought a lunch combo and one of the bags.
By my late grandparents house in Garden City Michigan. They just tore the original store building down in summer 2020. Sad. I have memories of the old Kmart as a child in the 70s. Again those Little Caesars areall over this part of Michigan their not "endangered" lol
This is such a beautiful Kmart and it reminds me SOOO MUCH of my store! Super cool to see this Kmart again! On a more funny note... I'd literally pay you for one of those pizza bags those are SO AMAZINGLY AWESOME! 😍😍😍😍 Lol I gotta add, that would literally be my reaction being caught on that rocking horse XD
Thanks for the video. Brings back a lot of memories for me. Worked in 10 Kmarts from 1992-2016 in Maryland, Virginia and Ohio. I finally left and hooked up with Meijer. Ironically, as a kid, when Kmart came to my hometown in 1982, I was not a fan of it. For toys I much preferred us going to the local Hart's, Rink's and Woolworth.

This store has been added to the 7 Kmarts scheduled to close in August. Seritage Growth Properties (Lamperts Hidden Gems) terminated 7 leases due to Covid19.
I just visited this Kmart today, and everything was fully stocked, the pharmacy was open, and Little Caesars was open. But one thing that really shows the lack of money is that the cashiers use these old white yellow-stained IBM cash registers
WallieB, you need to have some kind of giveaway/contest for one of those Little Caesar Kmart Pizza Bags!!! I want one!! I hope you grabbed every last one they had!
Man, sad. Our last one closed in 2016. We went as they were being liquidated just to give it one last visit. My kids still miss it and wonder if anything is going to open in half of the old location. One part of it opened as a grocery store, the other side is empty. They put a wall inside right down the middle so they could have 2 stores there.
@@jackwilliams5474 OH I see I thought it was 40 stores in general but your just saying 34 Non closing stores but the stores that are currently liquidating are not closed yet I'm sorry I doubted you :(
The grocery and home goods are hard to come by for stores right now. Since there is a shortage due to the virus, companies like Target and Walmart are being forced to pay more for those products. Kmart can’t afford to pay more, so they are likely just going to have to wait until prices stabilize before they can get those products back on the shelves.
I really Miss are Kmart it’s been along time. I live in Michigan and all are Kmarts are gone. Been going to Kmart since I was a child my mother took me School shopping their. Kmart where great back in the day.

The Little Caesers was open today (July 7th). Unfortunately though, they have started blocking off parts of the sales floor to hide some of the empty space, like at the other stores you have filmed recently.
I worked at 3 kmarts and thats how they all start a year before they close they stop getting stock in ussally the garden cell/ the back slowly and then boom ypur closeing
Went here in October and it looked the same basically. They closed off the whole electronics corner and LC was still closed. All the traffic was at pharmacy and the only open register was at customer service desk. I got a book for me and a dog bone for my dog.
I miss the Kmart in North Hollywood, California. It had so few people that if you shot a canon through the store, no one would get hit. Please visit one of the few remaining Kmarts in California
Cool, y'all made it to my state of Michigan. I didn't know it was any Kmarts left here. But that one looks nice but pretty dead though. I wonder how much longer it's gonna stay open.
Two Kmarts that used to be in my area (Dayton, OH) had fully functioning Little Caesars all the way to their closing. I ate at both a couple times each!
It is... surreal to see the store I work at through a UA-camr lens. XD (If you love retro I wish i could show you an old clipboard I got that they were throwing out.) We at least got rid of the awkward old plastic banner on the top running boards in the pharmacy that featured people that were "just like you and your life" type of photo sets. The pharmacy also used to not be red at the top outside, but we had it painted a few years ago and updated the logo sign.
Cool to see a Kmart in operation, you're from around here so you know there gone. Were you at feffer wokutch auto in Millvale last week? I was going to stop and say what's up, but we were headed to the next job.
My parents still live in Marshall. We never really shopped at that kmart but it obviously is was worse than it was. I have seen it within the last 6 mo and honestly dont know how it hasn't closed yet. The movies/games section used to be pretty well stocked. I'm thinking that, around when I moved out in 2013 is when it started to shrink in size before closing. I'm not sure if the little Caesars is closed permanently or due to Coronavirus, but even when it was open it seemed odd to be there because another little Caesars is like less than a mile away. Didn't realize the garden center is totally closed. That was still open when I used to live there.
I would love one of those pizza bags. I feel really bad I have no memorabilia from my old Kmart. I worked there for 10 years and I was a department manager for electronics. Sad. I miss it.

So a little info on this store, it's literally the only store for miles in that area, Marshall keeps it alive, but I doubt Sears/Kmart will stay viable as the pandemic continues. I monitor this store being that it's only 45 minutes from me. As far as the coke and pepsi things go, it's the virus situation. Especially being that Kmart isn't high on our vendors list of places to be stocked. We have a hard time getting pop in in general in Michigan. As far as electronics goes, they cleared out their electronics area within the last 3 years.
I can remember when Kmart had the blue light specials. All of the Kmarts where I live in Louisiana closed 10 years ago. The old super Kmart store is now a super Target.
I was actually in town and was in the store a couple weeks ago. I remember going here as a child and it’s definitely seen better days. They get JUST enough business to stay afloat and there’s a rumor of it closing like every month and a half. (If you must know what I needed there, it was dark chocolate M&Ms and some makeup. Got the M&Ms but had to go to the Rite Aid in the plaza to get the makeup I was looking for.)
This is a decent-looking store as some of the other comments mentioned, but the draw for me was the Vintage exterior entrance area and the fact that the store has a Little Caesars. I'm sad to see Kmart stores and the company in this state. Kmart used to be one of my favorite places to shop for jeans and shoes but didn't have anything that appealed to me for years before they closed all their locations in my area. And wall they locations around me or outdated, they gave off more of a sad and depressed vibe than a cool vintage vibe. I would love to see an old location that hasn't been remodeled since the 80s or earlier at the Time Capsule to what Kmart was like in its Glory Days. But unfortunately I don't think there is one. Anyway, good video.
Sad to see stores that we grew up slowly fade into history
Most in my area thankfully got reused as other stores and most you can tell still look like kmart thankfully.

I love all your videos keep making them
6:14 the newest model listed is a 2011, so that's probably a good 10 years old!
i always used to use those blood pressure machines as a kid out of boredom
I love these videos ☺
Dang I remember when we lost my Local Kmart in Southgate Michigan 😔
Pz9 The best fighter yeah it is
I used to go to the movies right by there ! Across the street ( Fort )
I remember when Taylor Super K closed! :(
Y4123 I was there on the last day 😔 can’t believe out of all things it’s now a Kroger
@@brader2k6 Southgate Super K was my great grandparents' go to place for grocery shopping until it closed
Taylor is now Ford offices, it's sad
I’m planning on getting there soon !
I thought it had already closed. Wish I knew you were going there. It would have been a short trek there for me.
Wow awesome video 👌👍
Now closing.... ugh!
I would love one of those pizza bags. I feel really bad I have no memorabilia from my old Kmart. I worked there for 10 years and I was a department manager for electronics. Sad. I miss it.
Where do we go now? No other store feels the same.
Schaumburg, IL used to have 2 kmarts in 2001. Fairly decent store, bought stuff for my first apartment there.
I’ve never seen a Kmart with that kind of entrance
The entrance looks like the old walmart smaller store that we use to have near us and now we got the supercrapstore.
OK that makes sense. At first I suspected looking at the entrance that maybe this building was something else before it was a Kmart.
@@peterjszerszen I live in Roscommon MI, and yeah I believe you're right, West Branch's was similar.
@@ericschultz6395 i was thinking the same thing! I live in East Tawas so West Branch kmart was a favorite of mine! Sure miss that one as well aa the Oscoda store.
@@gaylenewood7707 Crapstore had ceiling fans in their vestibule, this one doesn't, but it was always a Kmart, just like this Collinsville, IL store which also opened the same year (1989). VERY short lived Kmart prototype.

Here in Florida we have 1 Kmart left but a ton of Sears remain
Where do we go now? I hate shopping at most other stores. No Sears either. Help!
The two Kmarts in the Kissimmee Fl one closed in 2017 and the another one i think it closed in the early 2000 or 1990s
Nice clean looking K-mart. There is nobody shopping! Too bad they had to close up. In NY state I believe that they are all gone! Sad really sad!
