  • Travel back in time with me to 1990 as we explore this pristene 90s era Kmart. This is nicest kept and busiest Kmart i have seen since the late 90s. If only it had an electronics department and updated merchandise. Ill also be giving you an in depth look at a rare gem, the Little Caesers Pizza Cafe.

I’d like to see Kmart make a comeback. Perhaps we should organize a Save Kmart movement

Sounds sounds like something Manny Quacia would say LOL I do highly agree that Kmart’s need to be saved when I visited the one in Marshall Michigan I had a chance to meet the manager of the store and he was really nice I told him what I thought of the store and that if this one ever closes it would be an absolute shame to not have a kmarts in the state where it was first conceived. I told him at least one store and especially this one should be preserved. I told him he should do some sort of a franchise or buy out the building so he can continue to run it as kmarts once the actual kmarts company decides to completely close down. I told him that there have been instances of restaurants or other businesses continuing under their current name after the company folds someone privately buys it out and continues operating it and this should be done it would also Allow the store to be modernized with more updated products and I think the store would thrive even more than it already does

Someone needs to figure out how to break off some of these remaining kmarts from Eddie fart face The new movement should be called free the Kmart‘s from Eddie fart face that way we can save them and preserve a few of them maybe even modernize them so that they will be more profitable you know do exactly what all the other big box stores have done over the year update

Heard this location is closing too, now. I miss our old local Kmart here in New Jersey. Went from a Kmart, to Big Kmart, to Sears Essentials, and back to Kmart again before it was shuttered for good a few years ago. Their early 2000s prices were really good, but after it became Sears Essentials, while still a nice place to shop, was disappointing when their prices started to go up more. They stayed that way even after Kmart reverted back from it. But definitely a cool store overall. Kind of sad to see our old store still vacant and empty. Wish Walmart would move into it or something.

Good thing I did research. The Kmarts I planned on going to were long closed and some websites, even Kmart's, list them as still open. This was the only one I found near Illinois that is truly open.
Staff was as friendly as could be. (Something Walmart gave up on a decade ago.) The cashier asked we'd like to join a loyalty club (or something akin) and if we'd like to apply for a store card. I like their, "Never say die" attitude, but the store has seen better days. And corona has certainly not helped.
Still, if I can cut the route down to 2.5 hours one way (instead of 4) I'll go back whenever time and finances permit.

5:50 you know that Music & Video section WAS electronics at one time, right? They had electronics, including video games until about 2014-ish when they began phasing them out. A worker told me back then it was because of the smaller margins, which is true, most stores make just pennies off electronics, it's the clothing with higher markups, and look what Kmart has gone heavy on- clothing! Sure, it looks good on paper, but it ignores the fact that someone may want a video game, buy it, but while there also may pick up a shirt or something. The games bring people in, the clothing gets the profit! Moves like getting rid of electronics shows why Eddie Lampert has no idea how to run a retail store.

It used to have a big electronics section but it shrank to almost nothing. Years ago they had a big garden center and a big cafe. With only about 30 left the only way they could make a comeback is if some chain bought them and put some serious money in them. Since there are so few discount department stores left it might work. When it's only Walmart and Target people will miss Kmart, Ames and the others.

I remember back in the day, I used to work for Kmart when it was owned by S.S.Kresge Company. When,I worked for Kmart it was from 1985 until 1996 in Mt.Clemens, Michigan located at Groesbeck Hwy and Cass Ave.
Kmart Corporation closed the store in 1996, because the store wasn't making money.
The store then became a Farmer Jack, which went out of business. Now, it is a Planet Fitness, in the Kmart section, in the garden shop section of Kmart is a Subway.
In the supermarket section was a Kroger which closed before Kmart. The Kroger, is now a Dollar Tree store.

This is more than likely the last year for Kmart and Sears there are rumors going around that they are going to close all of them very soon still no legit news from like ABC or Fox or CNN just waiting for a legit source to post the news about them all closing

Eddie Sucks So Much For Making Kmart Dying. He Did Not Know What The Hell He Was Doing And Ruined The Company

He knew exactly what he was doing. He was only in it to make a quick buck and bounce. Get rich and bye bye. If only he had invested in the company and made it successful, he’d be even richer but I guess people like him are stupid and lazy.

Our Hagerstown MD store closed in February this year. There used to be stores in Frederick Md, Chambersburg and Waynesboro Pa and Martinsburg WV all within 30 minutes from Hagerstown. We have two Walmarts here. Big whoopee. I'd rather shop at the Salvation Army thrift store.

Much rather support kmart than Walmart. Sad to say that as bad as kmarts ceo Eddie lamprt is Walmart tops him by a long way when it comes to it’s crazy customers, crappy work ethics, rally’s for supporting China and the list goes on. Boy I miss kmart

Walmart is the worst company ever. Trust me I worked for them. Super shady. That’s unfortunate because the produces themselves and the store itself is nice just hate the company behind it. You should try meijer or target. Meijer is pretty fantastic if u live in the Midwest.

Kmart's decline began the day that they stopped selling Ammunition and firearms.

    • @TiltedTripodMedia
      @TiltedTripodMedia  4 роки тому

Richard M hmmm I think it was probably more when they stopped updating and selling electronics and being competitive with stores like target. So yes guns were a factor in all of it yes

Maybe guns played a part in killing kmarts in Texas and the backwoods of the south. As spongebob once said Texas is dumb. Having lived there I agree. I miss kmart
