    I'm a graphic designer and just got this keyboard + mouse combo for christmas. As you said, the mouse isn't the most ergonomic but it does its job fairly well. Besides, it maches my white setup so I really like that. Loved your review btw, I just subscribed. :-)

    The keyboard for the MK470 doesn't have an on/off switch. There is a sleep mode that the keyboard goes into when not in use that helps preserve battery life.

    Might be small, portable and silent but man my wrist hurts by looking at it, vertical mouses are the greatest thing for work as you WON'T develop carpal tunnel problems and it can help you get rid of them if they're not too advanced already

    • @CameronDoughertyTech
      @CameronDoughertyTech  2 роки тому +1

      That's a totally fair point. I've never tried a vertical mouse, maybe that could be a future video...

    The keyboard itself is pretty good bang for the buck. I have quite a hard time distinguishing between it and the MX Keys in terms of the way the typing action feels. The only things I don't like about it are the lack of an on/off switch and the lack of a caps lock indicator.
    The mouse is ergonomically horrid but I think the keyboard is worth the price on its own.

    Does the mouse goes to auto sleep if we dont switch it off or we need to switch off always while not in use

    Nice review, as per usual! Is there a priority on multimedia Play / next functin over F1-F2 ones ? If not is it possible to invert priority in software? I like using next / previous without pressing FN + Play. Do you still enjoy the keyboard overall after few months?

  • @tsankotsankov760

    Hey man, great review!
    How would you compare this keyboard to the mx keys mini in terms of typing experience?
    Aslo, which one would you personally choose for work between this one and a low profile mech keyboard like the keychron k3 (if you have tried such)
    Thank you very much in advance.

    • @CameronDoughertyTech
      @CameronDoughertyTech  2 роки тому +1

      Certainly! The MK470 and MX Keys (both full size and mini) have very similar typing experiences (similar key travel, sound, etc.). The MX keys are concave and have a soft touch coating whereas the MK470 is flat and more solid plastic. In the end this creates a premium feeling on the MX that is missed on the MK470.
      The value on the MK470 is fantastic so if that’s a priority, you won’t be disappointed in the keyboard. If you decide to spend the extra for the MX, you get additional features like backlighting and multi device capabilities - if either of those are important to you then definitely go MX.
      I haven’t tried the Keychron low profiles yet but it’s on my radar to grab one soon. Thanks for watching and good luck with your decision!

      @@CameronDoughertyTech Wow many thanks for the extensive and detailed answer, raelly appreciate it man!
      Woulg be great to see a comparison between a low profile mech keyboard and the mx keys, as I am sure many people in the market for a premium keyboard are asking this same question, and there is not a single such review on youtube.

    I would love the number pad, if it wasn't for the fact that I have four languages and the number pad only works in English because the other language is not Roman alphabet such as Thailand language, and those numbers don't work unless I change back to English

    Hey, is the USB dongle common for the mouse and keyboard?

    • @CameronDoughertyTech
      @CameronDoughertyTech  3 роки тому +3

      Great question. Yes, it’s a single dongle that is used for both. It’s also a common standard with other Logitech products so you could add a wireless headset, for example, and still just need the one.

    Hi Cameron, Could you please tell about laser light at the back mouse? It does not have the light such as red light, isn't it?

    • @CameronDoughertyTech
      @CameronDoughertyTech  3 роки тому +1

      Great question. Many modern mice use infrared light in their optical sensors. Since infrared is not visible to the human eye, you won’t see any light when the mouse is on unlike what you’re used to seeing with the red lights in older mice.

    So help… I have a dell xps13 and I LOVE ITS keyboard. I recently got the k380 and I hate it. I can’t see to adjust to the buttons and its slowing my typing speed.
    Are the mx better in that sense? would they be easier to navigate? Are they worth that much moneyV

      I don't know what you ended up getting but I feel the mx keys have too much travel from key to key. Don't know how people can say they are amazing for typing. I have normal sized hands too. I'm currently looking for a new keyboard. What did you end up getting?

    Keyboard typing demo is the most important to me. There was 3 seconds of you touching the keyboard. Would rather see and hear you use the keyboard than describe it with words. So, not so helpful. But thanks anyway.

    Hi Cameron, could I use the keyboard only? I already have a bluetooth mouse that I love working with. I am just looking for a SILENT keyboard :)

    • @CameronDoughertyTech
      @CameronDoughertyTech  3 роки тому +1

      Yep, absolutely. They don’t sell the keyboard as a standalone unfortunately, so you’d have to buy both. But you can use the keyboard with a different mouse. The mouse is technically the only thing they advertise with the “silent” branding, but the keyboard is one of the most quiet I’ve used as well.

      @@CameronDoughertyTech thanks for your reply. I give classes online and type a lot while speaking, and sometimes the keyboard noise gets annoying and I am always afraid it also annoys people listening to me haha. Would you know of any good silent keyboard (no combo)? Or else I´ll buy the combo and keep the mouse as a backup :) Thank you!

    • @CameronDoughertyTech
      @CameronDoughertyTech  3 роки тому +2

      Honestly I think this keyboard would suit you just fine for what you’re describing. Of the ones I’ve tested, this would be my recommendation for sure. Doesn’t mean there’s not others out there as well though.

    Compatible with Mac?

    • @CameronDoughertyTech
      @CameronDoughertyTech  3 роки тому +3

      These will connect to a Mac, but the keyboard specifically is not designed for it. Since it doesn't have the proper button layout on the keyboard (i.e. Command instead of Alt) you'll run into some funky situations if you use it.
      The mouse should be fine and can be purchased on its own. For a keyboard, you could check out the K780 ($59.99) in you want the number pad or the K380 ($39.99) if you don't. Cheers!

    Is this still good in 2023?

    • @CameronDoughertyTech
      @CameronDoughertyTech  Рік тому

      It look like it’s about $40 today, and for both a mouse and keyboard at that low of a price, I still think it’s worth a look. They’re never going to be the best in either category, but if you want to get something cheap but good, I’m still for it in 2023.

    Paying a 100 dollars more for backlit in the logitech mx keys.... Apart from that it's pretty much same as this keyboard.

    • @CameronDoughertyTech
      @CameronDoughertyTech  2 роки тому +4

      It's true that they are very similar. Both low profile, both full format with a number pad. Having used both, I much prefer the typing experience on the MX Keys and the ability to use multiple devices. If the extra money is in the budget, I think you're right that it's the way to go. I actually just recently did a video on the MX Keys as well. Thanks for watching!

    The keyboard is almost perfect but wth is that top part? It’s designed so poorly. Look at all that wasted space.

  • @majidali8604
    @majidali8604 Рік тому +1

    This is poorly designed, lots of wasted space at the top which could have been used to slim down the size, and no power off key which makes it difficult to transport whilst the laptop is running, unless you take the dongle out (and lose it).

  • @sendyamulet

    as soon as you lose that Bluetooth USB connector, you can't buy a replacement because they are all specially calibrated to each single keyboard so you are X X X XED as soon as you lose it the keyboard and the mouse become unusable. I've got dozens of keyboards like this on the shelf. Either it has Bluetooth built-in to the keyboard and the mouse like Apple, or I use wired equipment which is in truth the best. Because all of this wireless bullshit, causes lots of problems, leaves you with useless trash ruining the environment, In addition to adding to the electromagnetic waves in the atmosphere which is a major cause of cancer in the modern day. Use wired equipment everybody please and stop buying these gimmicks and gadgets that will be used for a year and then go in the cupboard
