ASSHOLE. Of course he was young, He was born in 1893 and had a development like any human being, There are no videos of him, just because there are no camcorders in the early twentieth century. Understood stupid ???? ASSHOLE FLOYD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best examples of this man's love of classical composers and his exsquisite interpretation and emotive and magical expression make this a learning tool for anyone interested in learning to play the guitar. Andres Segovia is one of the greatest artists ever to demonstrate the ability to captivate an audience with his virtuoso performances.
It is wonderful to see a True LEGEND playing an acoustic guitar. Andrés Segovia was this Legend and a Myth for all that loves music. Thanks for this vídeo.
I appreciate this so much.❤ I was able to play many songs let alone Slayer and she loved the music 🎵🎶 she just didn't understand all the screaming but once I played all of this on a classical guitar😅 I understood she heard it. I just wish I had my great-grandma's piano that was busted into pieces because she was my inspiration. Santa Clara
I saw him live a long long time ago, the 70s I believe. My friend who I was teaching guitar took me to the concert. When he came on stage, there was lots of applause, but Segovia was just standing there. The applause got softer and softer until and he was still standing there. Some side chatter was heard, until there was complete silence. You could literally hear a pin drop! He finally sat down and began playing. It was the most beautiful music I had ever heard in my life. I almost cried!
Segovia is the greatest classical guitarist of all time. It takes talent and lots of hard of work to achieve such a level of playing. Such musicians are born with talent. Bravo Andre, you will always be remembered.
jst cant stop coming back to watch this. every note so sharp and deliberate. god, to have seen this man live while he was still alive. imagine if this were recorded with modern mic.
Truth be told people change in time. I for one was also a huge fan of shredding and such. My father once showed me Segovia; and I instantly recognized how fantastic he was; without any prior knowledge of him. Don't fear; those who will become parents still need to grow up as well :)
there's no words to descrive a master he is not a machine like some new classical guitarrists all theses musics are an act of love and feelings porring down his thinger to the instrument.
He is certainly genius. I listened to his bosom old favorite performance with looking animation, and was impressed. I also love his boast face after his performance .
I saw him play in Chicago in 1971. He threw a bluesy 7th chord into one piece that caught everyone by surprise. I swear you could hear the audience smile in gratitude. Yep, the dude liked Chicago.
Yes, I do. I happen to have the tab in one of my Guitar "EXTRA" Magazines. It's the Winter 1992 Volume 2 No. 4 magazine, with James Taylor on the cover. Transcriptions include: Fire and Rain, Country Boy (Ricky Skaggs), Traveling Riverside Blues (Robert Johnson), Tune Up (Miles Davis), and Variations on a Theme from the Magic Flute" (by Fernando Sor, arranged by Robert Phillips). Great mag !!!
Finally, with the help of Google, I was able to identify the piece of music that they play in the AT&T commercial. I love it so much. It is romantic and beautifly played. The artist is wonderful.
I wonder, how can people dislike this? Regardless of if they like the piece or not, no one can deny Segovia's brilliance. I'm not making jokes a million people have already heard, like, say, "20 people are deaf," but, really, what is there to dislike?
Thanks for the feedback. In any discipline or art it is always important to acknowledge the originators or masters. You jogged my memory I remember having played some Fernando Sor pieces many years ago. The last time I played classic guitar was early 198os. Tarrega, Pujol and LLobet still a blank. As we talk, It will come back to me.
Thanks for giving opportunity to listen. I love Segovia's art but I have to say there sre some differences note he played In comparison with the original .In seventh var he located bass note on the opposite before the melody, that is interesting.
For those who display their audacity by questioning the artistic licence Segovia is rightly employing here, just stop for a second and think just how lucky you are to have the privilege of witnessing a great artist at the height of his career. How can you possibly whinge and moan about repeats or whatever, when you have this heaven sent opportunity to delight in that ravishing tone that only an artist of Segovia's stature could produce. Keep still and LISTEN !
He makes it look so effortless and the sound is just so clear and precise....considering the age of the recording. I particularly like his use of glisandos. I'm very much a segovia fan!!
some people have a great sense of music..the greatest sense.. the intellect through the physical self and imbued with their spirit all at the highest aesthetic of the sublime, these humans are rare as is evidenced by many comments posted here segovia is alone on top of the mountain looking down and pointing the way up
legend has it whoever wears his glasses will be possesed by segovia, run to the nearest classical guitar and play all his repertoire without stoping until someone takes it off.
That sound! And he was an amazing virtuoso, but most videos are from when he was quite old. There are recordings from his prime and the playing was unhindered.
Variations... yes, he made this song hs own!!! I have known of this song for 10 years now and I still get shivers during parts of this song.... I don't get shivers from Metallica solos anymore, just GNR and Segovia.... and maybe Atkins!!!
A true master. The ease and effortlessness of how he plays captures the light but beautiful spirit of Mozart's music.
Segovia never been young or what ?
+Floyd Frusciante lol hes always looked old as shit man. But an amazing guitarist
+Garoosh the best . the greatest

+marcos paulo he knows, it's merely a joke, calm your nerves down.
Was about ask the same question 😊
Beautiful, breath taking, celestial, angelic. How many words can I say? None of them would come close to describing this man's talent.
Segovia was the Maestro of Maestors. He was the supreme classical guitarist. This great man continues to deserve our greatest respect.
My grandmother got to hear this right before she was about to die. My dad is happy she got to hear this.
i love the segovia's style this mozart arrangement is perfect

If there is one thing I miss in this life, it's being too young to catch this man playing live. What a master in the truest since of the word.
What other guitarists do you like?
It is wonderful to see a True LEGEND playing an acoustic guitar. Andrés Segovia was this Legend and a Myth for all that loves music. Thanks for this vídeo.

I've played guitar forr 30 years and settled with flamenco but Segovia is the greatest guitarist of all time by such a way its frightening,
The Maestro. And yes, I have listened (and loved) the playing of Bream, Russel, Diaz, Romero, Gonzalez etc etc.
Being a guitarist, however little and poor, I can appreciate how great and perfectioned this is. Segovia, master of the instrument.
Tenía una Orquesta en sus manos el maestro Segovia... que manera de manejar texturas y matices.
te acuerdo.....
Sometimes, when i hear Segovia playin' i feel like there's a whole orchestra playing at the same time. He's amazing! MAESTRO we love you! :)
Absolutely timeless and awe inspiring....he plays with the touch of an archangel.
easily the finest work ever on a guitar and the best piece of guitar music yet written bravo Maestro S.

Oh god, what did he played
I play classical too but I also get emotional, watching AND playing
Increíble, control absoluto de la guitarra. Único
I just realize that rock guitarists are hilarious.
What sublime phrasing and musicality.

this legendary man practically reinvented the art of classical guitar
there's no words to descrive a master he is not a machine like some new classical guitarrists all theses musics are an act of love and feelings porring down his thinger to the instrument.

Fantastico! Segovia è un Genio!
Grazie

I thought John Williams was the best before I found this video. Thank you so much for this genuine moment of grace.
John was his student
Bravo. Best version I ever heard.
Bellissimo, stupendo. Grazie maestro

Amazing and wonderful . Coffee time with love
Horowitz: Piano
Segovia: Guitar
Casals: Cello
The best part of the whole video is after he's finished and he just stares straight into your soul.
Enough said of beautiful music, but what a beautiful old video, soft lighted and nostalgic...I love the setting and the view from the window :)
Great playing! The best!

Great artist. Thank you for recording.
Andres to eres mi idolo, no hay guitarrista mejor que tu, hay muchos imitadores, tu los introduciste a la guitarra clasica a todos.
Cada tanto vuelvo a escucharlo para recordar lo que es música. Lo demás son notas saliendo
Superb comment ! I can't come close to that -I can only second it and add that possibly the whole world of classical guitar fans agree with you !
the first variation is amazing
Thanks for giving opportunity to listen. I love Segovia's art but I have to say there sre some differences note he played In comparison with the original .In seventh var he located bass note on the opposite before the melody, that is interesting.
he could kill 4 men at once with those fingers man, they look stronger than iron
One of my favorite pieces on classical guitar. Played by Segovia nevertheless. Many thanks for the upload. I'm gonna go practice now!

Segovia was and will be the only musician in the world who can make a sound so sweet with a musical instrument.
Zarpado! el final bien Heavy agitando la cabeza! Groso Andres!
When i finish learning this I am going to play it all time.
That sound! And he was an amazing virtuoso, but most videos are from when he was quite old. There are recordings from his prime and the playing was unhindered.
Most of the musicians agree that Classical Guitar is the most difficult instument to mastered. Segovia is the greatest guitarist ever lived on earth.
he's pretty good... love those arpeggios...
Maestro Andrés Segovia
Everybody plays this piece, but nobody plays it better than Segovia. Nobody.
