@@Dave91127I’m an oilers fan and I agree with you. oilers started stretching the play to combat the heavy forecheck Florida was using. Dallas did it to the oilers the first couple games then they adjusted and beat Dallas. The biggest problem Florida has is that the Oilers PK and PP are better statistically at least. So the more Florida wants to play their bullying game the more they will get penalized. Oilers are faster skaters as well. Florida had Bob bail them in games 1 and 3. This series would be over otherwise. How game 6 goes I have no idea but I hope it goes to 7.

You mean for commentary right? I'd argue for (overall) as a player too. Subban was severely overrated as a player, had one great year and won the Norris then got super lazy after that. He hates the Oilers because he wanted to join us on a min contract - Oilers said PASS and he retired. Now he's the worst NHL broadcaster on TV

Why everyone view it in terms of "momentum"? Panthers had "all the momentum" up 3-0 in series then lost 8-1 😅 What about their "momentum"? Oilers won 2 games. THAT is why the series shifted.

There is a huge psychological component in the sport. It is likely that stanley cup finals jitters got in the heads of the stanley cup finals rookies the oilers whilst the panthers showed up on the heels of last year’s cup loss experience with determination and clarity… to take the first 3. But… then win cup TONIGHT jitters got the panthers in game 4 whilst the oilers had nothing to lose but their dignity. The oilers played game 4 and 5 without any attachment to that cursed cup and probably just eff you on their minds.
Now… can the oilers continue to ignore that cursed cup in game 6 and play on principle alone? And what about the panthers… they are under much greater pressure. They have win cup NOW to deal with… they have to fend off doubt from the 2 losses. And as if that isn’t enough they are faced with the very real prospect of the humiliation of losing the cup 2 years in a row.
If we get to see game 7 it is going to be wild. Both teams will show up completely mind f**k’d. Cup rookie oilers will get their first taste of cup NOW jitters and the panthers will be facing down the weight of the potential for the greatest humiliation of their lives.

@@trevorkolmatycki4042 I think you're playing 3d chess against yourself, sir. Thats a loooot of speculative psychology about a GROUP of professional athletes you know very little about personally. Even sports psychologists who work with specific players involved wouldn't make such bold assertions about those INDIVIDUALS based on the outcomes of a handful of games. And do the strategic X's and O's or literal physical/athletic aspect of sports mean nothing? 🤔
The reality is there is a TON of variance in sports. But our brains crave narratives and love to create them to explain random things. I mean the team who performed the best doesn't even always win. Oilers actually outplayed FLA game 1 but lost. And FLA actually outplayed Oilers last night and lost. So is your theory based purely on goals or are you considering other less random metrics which have higher correlation to performance. (Posession time, high danger chances, shots, offensive zone time)
Because it's true momentum. It doesn't always carry over, but the Oilers outplayed the Panthers in Game 1. Bob stole it. They outplayed the Panthers for most of Game 3, just no bounces until late. Panthers only outplayed them (start to finish) in Game 2. They didn't have momentum. They capitalized on misplays. Pretty much the only way the Kings, Canucks and Stars each have scored on them.
Which is to say... Only the Oilers can beat the Oilers.
And it's momentum because they have found their game, figured/worn out Bob, and it's on. Cats can't stop them from getting 15+ high danger chances every game. Bob can't withstand it.
Oilers got going late in Game 4 and kept it going. Nothing Panthers can do to stop it.
And that's with Leon playing with broken ribs AND a broken finger.

McDavid is faster then Mkinnon as per all star game when McDavid went in fastest skater every announcer said now this looks different as to how explosive he was compared to MKinnin and others he beat in fastest skater and oilers a must win team the hardest toughest teams to play and win
The fastest skater competition is without a puck, its a whole lot easier than while trying to control one which is what Mackinnon is elite at. Also if you watch them every year its obvious Mackinnon doesnt even try to win probably because he doesnt want to injure himself. His fastest recorded speed in the season this year was 24.05 mph, the same as Mcdavid.
