Just bought an S3 with the same sunroof assembly, and same exact rattle on the passenger side. I'll be doing this tomorrow without a doubt. Thanks for the easy fix.
@@aidancalgier after a bit closer inspection, my clicking noise from my headliner appears to be about two inches back from that bolt. Kind of curious now if that's really the issue or not.
Andrew Smith I thought about that, it could come loose again, but I wasn’t sure if having a nut there would interfere with the fitment of the sunroof when closed. I’m no mechanic bro.

what kind of rattle do you hear? when elevation change I hear from my passats panoramic sunroof
It kinda sounds like a tapping noise. It really only happened when I would hit bumps while driving.
So I have a 2015 GTI and my sunroof is different, and doesn't have this bolt to tighten, but it does rattle. Maybe bc mine is a 4 door?

@@aidancalgier I white lithium greased the crap out of all plastics and rails of the sunroof, while it was open, and seems to have stopped the rattles

Originally I tightened it and took the nuts off, but the rattle came back. So recently I left one nut tight on the bolt.
Why not just leave the one nut there... It's just going to come loose and start rattling again
