    I own Nmax from 2017. And done nearly 10k miles on it.
    Daily top speed is about 62MPH at flat/no wind. Up to 75MPH at A38 downhill...
    I live close to Peak District, and most of roads are limited here up to 50MPH, this scooter easy reach this speed regardless of terrain ;)
    Brakes are great, but ABS is very sensitive, when activate, You loosing a lot of braking force (i dont know is anything change in 2021 model)
    last week i've done 170miles round trip to Skegness with average 105MPG (wide open throttle most of time) and not causing road congestions behind me ;)
    I love this bike as allrounder (comutee to work)
    But, few things need to be mention:
    1. Stock tyres are for summer only - i've change to all-round model, which are lot better.
    2. Wind protection is poor for legs (under knee), arms, upper chest and head (this is a bit better with 2021 windscreen profile)
    3. LED headlights are steaming in cold weather or mist reducing visibilty
    4. Not much space for pillion (for tall riders)
    5. Mirrors are small and difficult to set.

      Whoops! 75 down hill. That little engine will get very hot indeed, not built for such speeds at all and could be nasty if the engine fails, especially bottom end or piston.

    • @stanley3647

      @@phillipdonnelly6430 Same engine as in R125, and difference is only in "software" blocking highest revs in Nmax. So, no issue for Nmax ;)
      And this limiting power as well.
      You can check R125 spec ;)
      Radiator in Nmax is ventilated by fan connected to engine shaft, faster You go, faster it spin.
      BTW. Ridding at top speed/full throttle is noticed in petrol consumtion, badly ;)

      @@russellgray938 Michelin City Grip 2.
      They are all-season tyres with "Mud and Snow" sign.
      So give You a little more grip in cold weather vs. summer tyres.
      I've tested typical winter tyre for one winter season, and it was a lot better, but lot more easy to puncture and too soft in warm days.
      So, City Grip 2 is reasonable choice...

    There is a lot to be said for the smaller 2021 Honda Vision 109cc stop/start with the Euro5 engine. It's overall top speed and acceleration is very similar in the same conditions. There isn't much in it except its about £1000 cheaper. The Nmax's advantage is it has more space under the seat certainly for a full face helmet where the Vision struggles for space.

    • @JDMz
      @JDMz 2 роки тому

      They can do 70mph flat out down a big hill, comfortably do 63 on a flat road with no head wind. Also depends on the person's weight and how tall they are. When I had mine it would cruise at 63 on the flat. And I'm 6ft 7. Also the engine break in period plays a big part in performance. If you just thrash it from new then the performance wears. I done my break in period at 40mph tops. No constant speed or open throttle. Plus the belt has to wear in. After my first service I noticed a big difference I'm performance and it would 74mph flat out hitting the limiter. So around 70 to 71mph gps.

      @@henrysmith5604 125 4 strokes are restricted. You cant derestrict them like 2 stroke scooters. The only thing you can do is raising the rpm limiter. And general cvt tuning. Even performance exhausts don't do anything in performance wise. Other than it sound like crap and too loud. Lol

    • @JDMz
      @JDMz Рік тому +1

      It'll improve when the engine has ran in. If you've not ran it on correctly then you'll get poor fuel economy

    • @seismic6402
      @seismic6402 5 місяців тому

      The tank is 7.1 litres, but there is a reserve of 1.7l.
      I have run for around 12 miles on the reserve, but still the maximum I have put in was just over 6l.
      The stated mpg will probably involve a 70-75kg rider over flat road in calm conditions I would imagine.
      If you ran till empty, you would be a good bit closer I would imagine, but 200 mpg not going to be realistic in the real world.

      You just turn the dial to off and walk away. If you weren't planning on using the bike for a while, after switching off and locking the steering by turning the handlebars, and turning the dial to lock you can give the button a long press until the light flashes and this switches the electrical system down which saves running the battery down 🙂

    NMax or PCX? 🤔

    • @BikeMatters
      @BikeMatters  2 роки тому

      Now that is a good question - both are great options!
      There are some key differences such braking and price, the Nmax has dual ABS and disc brakes all around, the PCX only has single ABS and brake disc at front with drum to the rear. But the PCX is cheaper, along with being slightly more economical. There isn't a right or wrong answer with these two, just what suits you best individually and what you prefer.

Would you pay the extra for the 155? I commute 35 km each way. Around 10 of them on the motorway (130 km/h speed limit). I am a little concerned that the 125 won't be able to follow traffic - which the 155 probably will manage. What are your thoughts - which would you choose?
