- The tapes for this and several other shows. (the masters)...were destroyed in a fire. I wish I could provide a better quality copy than this. However all I have left of this and the other shows we did are these VHS copies. This one is from a show that ran for one season on TNN taped in 1984, but ran in 85'. I had just turned 20 and went to work with Bill Anderson's band who was the house band for this and many other TNN shows over many years. This was the last day of taping for the 65 shows we did of this show. Ray Price was our guest and this was about 10am in the morning. What a gentleman and an honor for me to be a part of not only this band, but to get to play for people like Ray Price! Band members include myself, Dirk Johnson, Mike Johnson, Mark Johnson, Les Singer, Bruce Watkins, Mike Streeter and background singers Liana Manis and Leann Steinhour. Host of the show was Charlie Douglas. I would like to thank the shows producers for permission to share these with you here now. More to come!
Feb 1, 2024… Ray Price had the greatest voice of his generation. His Danny Boy is the best version ever…goes straight to the soul.
Greatest version of Danny Boy ever!
Bless you Ray.
Captivating singer! Fabulous job.
Incredible!!!
Wow, totally awesome, can't beat this man. The best of the best and an excellent video. Only the 2nd I've seen where he sings this song completely. Thanks.
Thank you!
When Ray released this, people spit on him in the streets of Nashville. I heard him tell the story with tears in his eyes.
Didn't think Ray could sing this, but he sure could.
Great Singer
Oh, Danny Boy, las pipas,
las fuentes están llamando
De la cañada a la cañada,
y por la ladera de la montaña
El verano se ha ido,
y todas las rosas cayeron,
Eres tu, eres tu
Debo irme y debo esperar.
Pero vuelves cuando sea verano
en la pradera,
O cuando el valle está en silencio
y blanco con nieve,
Es que estaré aquí a la luz del sol.
o en la sombra,
Oh, Danny Boy, Oh Danny Boy ...
¡Te quiero tanto!.
Pero cuando vengas,
y todas las flores se estén muriendo,
Si estoy muerto ...
como muerto bien puedo estar
Vendrás a buscar el lugar
donde estoy mintiendo
Y arrodillarse y decir
un Ave allí para mí;
Y oiré, aunque pises suave sobre mí,
Y toda mi tumba se calentará,
más dulce mar
Pues te doblarás y me dirás
que me amas,
Y yo dormiré
en paz hasta que vengas a mi ...
Oh, Danny Boy, Oh Danny Boy ...
¡Te quiero tanto!.
