    Really appreciate the videos, keep up the technical info, even more would be great. Hard To find content as good as this online

    Thanks Man, this is exactly what I have been looking for. I have 2 inverter generators that I want to use as backup power for my house. I want the clean power and I need to be able to run my 1HP well pump at 240v. My well pump is the only thing I need to run at 240v. If this works I can survive a power outage for awhile. Is there any other information that you can give to do this? A build video for this setup would be great!

      As another option, I bought a few 55 gallon HDPE drums (safe for drinking water) from Home Depot, I then use a little 300 watt, 60 psi, 5 gpm, 120 volt A/C pump to suck water out of the drums and pressurize my plumbing system. Their allows my house to have running water for a few days, without needing the well pump. They also make soft start well pumps that don’t have the inrush current of typical well pumps. I could be wrong (still learning) but I gather these soft start pumps use Permanent magnet motors, while typical well pumps use an induction motor.

    great info, now I need another Honda gen. Current got your type eu2000i and the eu6500i. That transfer box, where can I find it ?

    This is exactly what I am looking for. Need to run house well pump with generators. I dont understand how you are describing the solution. Is there any possibility you could show how this is wired, or refer me to a link that would describle how to do this?

    Great set up and video thanks. I've been wondering how to run my 1/2 hp 220 pump on a small 115 gen set for a while. It uses 7 amps running and 15amps at start up. Any ideas how small of a gen set I could go with that transformer to run my pump?

    I'm an Electrician and that's not very much output for a 3 horse pump. A 1/2 HP puts out twice that much on an open 1 1/2 line. And you need the Honda parallel cable to match the HZ from generator to another generator through the internal electronics sensing circuit. That sensing circuit does not see the HZ from the main outputs. The 115 transformer is having trouble creating a 220 volts when the Hz is scrambled from your generator main outputs That might explain the low output. Your pumping 4-5 gallon a minute from a 3 horse pump. I can pump 5-10 gallons from a 1/2 HP and about 20 gallon from a 3 HP pump on a open line like you have here.

      Look up diagram of the generator. Parallel cables are directly tied to output. This is also a 550 foot deep well, with a pump strong enough to have 60 psi with 100 feet of raise above the well head

      @@HighTechLab The two generators must be synchronized otherwise they will cancel each other out based on phase shift and result in lower power delivery to well pump. I'm setting up a 120 - 220 transformer to a 1/2 HP well pump.

    I am guessing that since your pump does not need a neutral any step-up transformer would do (no split phase or balancing required). I am looking to hook two 2200s up to a StorEdge battery/solar inverter and not sure if it just requires 240VAC or split-phase with neutral. I did not realize SolarEdge had a separate AutoTransformer and that it is much cheaper than the Victron one I was looking at. Thanks for this!

    I need to run a 240v 5hp motor it would use like 30 amps of 240- this might work for me!

    I can’t understand how your generators are maintaining the same phase relationship. In fact I doubt that they are in phase!

      Research the Honda inverter generators, they are designed to line up their phasing

    Can this be done with 2 EU2200i's?

    This is crazy cool! How do you wire the receptacle into the auto-transformer as I'm a little thick on how there is only the one power cable going between them? Ready to pull the trigger to get one of the auto-transformers to run 240v between two parallel generators. Thanks in advance.

    I was almost with you on two generators, but when you had three...just buy an EU7000iS.

      They are only a couple bucks....I endedup going with a 14 kilowatt diesel unit that way I could burn AG diesel that cost a lot less because it doesn't have the costs of on-road fuel and the only difference is it has red dye.

    Is the power company going to run Three Phase to your home and or building ? Or is this strickley Solar ?

      Unless they do it for free, highly unlikely

    How much watts can you auto transformer run. I have 11000w of 120vac. Id like to run my oven off the solar but dont want a 240 v inverter. And price estamate please.

    • @HighTechLab
      @HighTechLab  6 років тому

      +Frank Z the autotransformer can handle 5000 watts of imbalance current. That means at 240 volts from 120 volts you can have 10000 Watts total. This means you need to provide 10,000 Watts though and at 120 volt that's about 90 amps.
      Here is a link where you can go on Google and shop for them. You're looking at about 300 bucks. I got 2 for free in exchange for doing work for solaredge directly.

    Dude, you need a EU7000i, your life would be so much easier. Great video series, one of the best. My feeling is your not getting more subs because your to technical. Way above what most DYI guys can handle. Great stuff.

      +C MH when you have 1 2000i and 1 3000I it's a lot more cost-effective just get another 2,000 then spend the money and get the big one

    Why not use a gas powered pump?

    • @HighTechLab
      @HighTechLab  6 років тому +1

      Guy Fawkes the generator setup is temp, once we run power to the well it will run on solar. The pump is 520 ft in the ground also.
