The fans were the cause, but Pointcrow wasn't mature about it either. He completely ghosted Smallant, bad mouthed him on stream, got upset he wasn't messaging him, despite blocking him. I'm glad they worked it out, shows Pointcrow is a good guy.

For the record, Pointcrow DID make a huge stink on twitter, called Smant terrible things, told him he wanted to talk but then also blocked him and then claimed Smant wasn't willing to talk...
If you'd like to see the whole bag of worms you can look up Smant breaking down on stream because he's trying to please Pointcrow but they got the idea in their head Smant was somehow trying to purposefully convince people to attack him... He went full on conspiracy mode and nothing Smant tried behind the scenes seemed to do anything all the while Pointcrow was publicly bad mouthing him...
there's a Anthony opens the episode saying "people might be shocked to see you two together here"
I'm glad Pointcrow apologized and they worked everything out... but this is by no means a twitter-less resolution, haha

As well then blocking Smant so that when he claimed Smant wouldn't settle it privately... it was because he literally couldn't...
the reason Point crow here gave such a massive apology was because he was the one just openly attacking Smant, his character and his intentions

It was also SO stupid and regrettable that they both had, in their chats, some absolute maidenless losers that would make it their MISSIONS to rile up the other person’s fans if they streamed at the same time. Just deliberately starting shit and doing a ton of “he said you did ____”
It wasn’t their faults that they got deceived by some of that. There wasn’t clear communication during a stream about what the rules were for a gaming challenge, so when Pointcrow accidentally “broke one of the rules” it was because there was an honest misunderstanding that that wasn’t allowed. But you had people in chat IMMEDIATELY go into Smallant’s chat and spread lies that “OMG Eric cheated and he doesn’t care!” While at the same time you had people, once Smallant took notice saying “no, Pointcrow! That was NEVER a rule that Smallant said ahead of time. He made up a rule just to punish you cuz he was losing.”
It was SO dumb. And they reacted in a way you can’t blame them for considering the misinformation they were being fed.

It's frustrating hearing the fans would hop into PointCrow's chat and talk down to him. Like he is doing his best. Why be scornful and taunting to someone who is also generating a huge fanbase and speedrun community? And he has put out a ton of content regarding the unique mods in Zelda games outside of that. He's a good dude, and I'm glad that Smant and Crow were able to work past this. Love them both soooo much! ❤

I always thought/heard that it was toxic fans that lead to the two avoiding each other at events and no longer collabing. Pointcrow did quite a long video on what things didn't sit well with him when this originally happened. Don't know if it's still up, but there were some points where smallant definitely could've done a little better iirc. Maybe he just couldn't fully grasp how pointcrow felt about certain things. I don't blame him for that, though. I don't think that you can blame just one of the two for the situation. Both of them probably made some mistakes, there were misunderstandings and then this whole thing happened.

I was annoyed that Point Crow targeted Smallant for something he really couldn't control and publicly accused him of things that are not his fault or he didn't do multiple times, did not apologise and blamed Smallant for everything. If he apologizes then I guess he was able to take some time and think through things logically. That's such an amazing thing to be able to do. Changing views of things and events you're invested in are extremely difficult and being able to do that speaks volume about him. I respect that so much.

    • @alchemysaga3745
      @alchemysaga3745 10 місяців тому +5

Small Ant wasn't exactly the pinnacle of maturity about it, either. PointCrow had talked to him privately about Small Ant playing into the whole "Point Crow is the inferior version of Small Ant" thing the fans had going, and Small Ant still did it.
Making jokes at the expense of your friend when they've told you they don't find it funny and are actually takibg it rather personally is the *opposite* of maturity.
Point Crow putting the issue on public blast wasn't mature or the best option, but it's not incomprehensible that someone would resort to that after attempts at private discussion failed to have any results, and Small Ant's viewers literally harrassed Point Crow over every single video that had a similar concept.
It's really, really silly to pretend that the issue was unilaterally Point Crow's fault when Small Ant has admitted to having a fair amount of responsibility for the matter. Let alone to keep doing so when he's done so more than once, and spent the last 18 months trying to put a stop to his viewer's continuing to insult and demean someone he considers a friend- even 'as a joke.' Particularly when that kind of 'joke' was what caused the schism.
If you can't even accept the statement of responsibility made by the streamer you're trying to defend, odds are you're exactly the sort of rabid viewer that he doesn’t want around. @@Danghole

Smallant is the most competitive streamer I’ve seen, and that leads to him doing challanges like “me vs 3 other streamers” and he wins. This makes the other streamers look bad at the game and makes smallant look like he thinks he’s better than all of them combined and can farm views. The reality of the matter is that it’s just for fun. Smallant is that good at the games because he wins, but Pointcrow’s focus isn’t to become the best at the game like Smallant’s. His focus is on funnier, wacky content, real life content, modded games, etc. It’d be like if Muhammad Ali boxed against the top 4 of Creater Clash at once. Yes he’s gonna win, but that doesn’t make the losers youtube videos bad because of it, it’s not their focus
