I hadn't heard of any of the contestants other than Dara O'Brien prior to the season since I'm in the US, but it has been an absolute delight to watch Fern Brady throughout this season thus far. She seems really sweet and charming.
I mean this in the kindest possible way as someone who's also Autistic, but it's absolutely baffling that she wasn't diagnosed with Autism until 2021. She's textbook.

Dreaming about Greg and his kitchen cabinets and asking if that is how posh people dream, its just so relatable haha. We thoroughly enjoyed series 14, all 5 contestants (And Greg and Alex) were fantastic. Love you all!

I was really hoping that circus merry-go round object fell off (Like it did in Dara’s interview). If it was staged for each contestant i would’ve loved to see each of their reactions, felt like Fern would have jumped a mile
After watching half the series I feel confident that Fern's default mental state can best be described as "mildly chaotic 13 year old" so you're not wrong.
I wrote this before I knew she was autistic, and I’m autistic as well so watching it back makes a lot more sense and let’s me enjoy her humor in a new way

I'm not Scottish myself but being familiar with Scottish accent, it's def not just that. She's got unique inflection and pacing. Also, she has sneaky, late-diagnosed autism (which, so do I and most of my friends) and the particular way she says some things really slow/quiet/deadpan and excitedly shouts others is very familiar to me :)

The unjust scoring of the songs in Episode 4 angered me more than almost any ever, as did Fern’s attitude on the podcast. She is often unintelligible in it, doesn’t quite keep time and doesn’t have a nice tone. Sarah also sounds bad but got pity points because her ex rudely told her so. She had already scored well on many other tasks so didn’t need the pity when she had one weak task. Dara was clearly the best and Munya the second best despite the stream-of-consciousness lack of narrative, then John, then Fern, then Sarah.
