  • There are many modeling tutorials regarding cosmetics products in Blender, however, none of them is sharing how to model the screw part of the jar. (which is pretty important when you want to show the product content inside of cream jar)
    Well, not anymore.
In this short tutorial, I will walk you through the modeling when you model cosmetics products in Blender, you can save the screw part after practice this blender tutorial for any future projects. Adding an additional layer of product detail will certainly up your design game when rendering photorealistic renders of cosmetics products in Blender.
My UA-cam channel is emphasizing photorealistic product rendering and photorealism render in general. I will show you the tips and tricks of photorealistic renders in Blender, and really up to your skills in Blender if you are into this style of 3D work.

A really easy way to get screw shapes is a default add-on called "Bolt Factory" with lets you make nearly any screw. After sizing it you can use the Boolean modifier and apply the screw shape another object, then you have an object with a screw feature

I know how hard I struggled back in 2020 when I started learning to do cosmetic mocks & this thread made me go nuts. Not a single tutorial I found was helpful at that time. I am glad you uploaded this so that the people who starting to learn blender today will find it extremely helpful.

Nice work mate. Clear and concise. Around the 4:10 mark, instead of manually going around selecting each face around the screw, you can go to face mode on edit mode (3 on the keyboard) and click while holding alt on a vertical edge between the loopcuts you created before. This will automatically select each connected face around the screw. But yes, nice one!

Thanks for the video! I like to learn numerous ways to model the same thing and this was an interesting way to achieve this shape. I do believe that if you add a weld modifier and then apply screw and weld that should remove the issue of the overlapping vertices as merging by distance after doing so resulted in 0 vertices merged. Hope this may help.
