I just realized that you actually can use it as an fx pedal for external inputs. I found a hidden feature that was not mentioned in the included guide, so this is in fact possible

@@ld1775 Yeah. I don't know if it's intentionally hidden. I think they're just not completely finished with their manual yet. There's a lot of functionality they share on their discord server that I haven't been able to find in the user manual. So in time, hopefully it will be more available.

My setup is mostly eurorack with an OXI-One (which is basically a module in itself) for master clock and sequencing with an OP-Z for beats. Even my mixer and interface are in the rack. As it stands, I just want a versatile sampler to craft sounds and add to the mix. For what it does, this looks great due to its sound control and small footprint. There are modular samplers out there, but they are pretty limited in comparison. The Rossum Assimil80r is probably the most advanced, but it's hard to get a hold of and it's 1000 bucks. I'll watch this to see how it develops before I buy, though.

EDIT: I’m completely mesmerized by the confusing but very cool feeling the two different colors are giving
It’s like having 2 different faces with the same face or two different moods wtffff I even can’t describe it
    But that’s really really cool
You should be used to have people staring at you completely fascinated that should be so weird for you….
If I had this feature I will use it SO MUCH at my advantage… 😆👍👍
    Beautiful gift.

@@flundlipI’d be willing to take the chance of them not doing anything with the firmware for $199 as the over all price. Then I’d take that other $400 and put it towards a real sampler. Because at that point, it’s just a fun little toy-ish kinda thing. Sure you can sample into it and get some quick and interesting results, but it just needs some clock and undo features for me to even consider it an option. Because used mk2 SP404’s are now around $400 and that seems like a better deal. That or a Digitakt.

Of course "insert chinese junk product here" is 1/2 the money blah blah blah, i dont get it with haters. They just cant keep their mouths shut . The truth is none of these people hating on this american made product have ever created anything out of an idea, if they had they would know that your main goal is to NOT BE THE SAME AS EVERYINE ELSE. Why do you think yeenage engineering ,hologram, or chase bliss are so popular? Its not always going to be a grand slam, but how many more sequencers do we need? This was never ever marketed as a groove box, it has always been marketed as a tape machine, or a lofi box. Most of the haters couldnt even operate a "groove box" anyway.

    • @DetroitMicroSound

Chompi is missing stuff the electronic musician of today, really needs. "Nunomo [Qun 2?] is super cool, and not fun at all to use whatsoever compared to the Chompi"???? I love my quirky Qun Mk2. It's worth every single penny, and really a lot more. You can't sample stuff, then sequence the samples into melodies, or beats, in Chompi. You can in Qun Mk2.
You've used almost every sampler? I've been making electronic music for like 35 yrs. I've owned a bunch of samplers over the years, but I would never try to claim I have used almost every sampler ever built. Making such a claim is laughable, at the current state, where there have now been hundreds of different samplers on the market, and a large handful of never marketed gear built by expert engineers. @@cougarman8

Exactly my thoughts. A pricey weird little box. Faceplate for kids but marketed for the adults. And, mostly, a company that just sells faceplates. Hoping their customers will update the firmware for them. Sad.

The looper is awesome on this, this thing is made for a very specific purpose o think, which is recording changing pitch recording again reversing adding FX etc. Its basically a loop creating workstation and i love the workflow this has.
