Yeah Sheera might have guessed that plot to be honest because you both could have been right about Nazuna wanting to hold hands and with the Mahiru being with the vampire.
No, they were friends up until sixth grade, two-three years prior to the anime. Akira has mentioned it before
I know they haven't really said it outright, but they've been pretty clear that Akira, Machiru and Yamori hung out together outside of just that one time in kindergarten. In episode 3, Akira mentions 6th Grade (which is only about three years ago for them, being 14 years old) as when they were put in different classes and Yamori became more outgoing, implying that's when they stopped hanging out together.

I feel the movie date is situational. Like Sheera said if they are both interested you can be like “oh great I wanna see that too, let me take you to see it, my treat”
Otherwise a date can be almost anything.

Horiyama will be a great anime to go to after this. With Kaguya over ( for now) Horiyama is probably the best romcom anime for awhile.

@@Crumpi never watched part 5, I dropped Jo-Jo's at part 3. The biggest one I recognize him from is Akutagawa from Bungo Stray Dogs, but in this episode specifically I recognized him immediately because he talks JUST like he does when he voices Yuri in Spy x Family
but he also voices one of my absolute favorite characters in one of my absolute favorite anime with Tarou from Shinreigari and there he is literally unrecognizable. That is such an underrated masterpiece of a show

The real reason she wants Ko to come back to school is because she blames herself for him dropping out. The girl who confessed to Ko knew that Akira and Ko knew each other and that girl went to Akira and asked her if she had a chance with Ko if she confessed. Akira just assumed that Ko would say yes and told the girl that she should confess. And then Ko dropped out of school after rejecting the girl because the girl's friends started harassing him for rejecting her. So Akira blames herself for everything that happened. She does consider Ko an old childhood friend, but Akira is a bit of an introvert. So when Ko and her stopped hanging out since they were in different classes, Akira never went out of her way to try to stay friends. And Ko just started acting friendly with his classmates to fit in. He was being sociable because that was what was expected because of social norms. But Ko actually hated being nice and friendly with his classmates since he didn't actually have any interest in being sociable.
sometimes i just hope for u to watch this and just enjoy in silence some secs, and react, not be just talking all the time btwn scenes, u miss details those moments
I like Akira though, please dont ship her with Machiru. I dont know, deep inside, I just want Ko just be a normal kids that get a 'license' to be friends with Nazuna and in the end having a normal relationship with Akira or the massage customer(woof!) or anyone else
Somehow I think Akira is not being jealous, she just hates that one by one her trio is going far then going back together. Cause her school life doesnt seems like she interact with other people

Think it’s less “from the moment his blood was sucked” and more “from the moment y’all start hanging out regularly.”
A vampire can suck blood from anyone, and no time limit starts because that’s a one-night stand. If they start hanging out regularly, the knowledge that one of them is a vampire comes out (presuming it didn’t the first time, or they don’t feel like hiding it), and at that point they either need to fall in love and turn within a year, or perish.
Ah, it’s definitely “if they don’t feel like hiding it,” based on Nazuna being able to run a cuddle-buddy and massage system. Though in that case, the office worker is definitely on that time scale since she now knows Nazuna is a vampire.

For clarification: There are no romantic feelings between Mahiru, Akira, and/or Kou; none of them like each other romantically, they're all just friends.

@@SlyI42 Handy reminder; “ships” are completely unfounded guesses at relationships between characters, and the only way for a ship to launch/sink is to be canonically confirmed and _then_ broken up.
Ships completely ignore what is canon until either launched, or sunk.

Akira isn't even interested in romance yet. She's actually still kinda grossed out by the idea of romance. She wants Ko to go back to school for other completely separate reasons than having any kind of romantic interest in him.

Call of the Night is a laid-back, lofi vibe with that monogatari touch on it. Definitely messing with this anime.

IDK how she was playing Minecraft on a PS1 but what evs, it is funny.
She has a Nintendo Switch too (which is what Yamori shut off in the manga), so that was just an error.
If you are wondering why Hirako and Hiyori were taking so lightly the "punishment" you can google up the word Kancho/Kanchou in japanese...
I love how Kikyou‘s dating advice list for Ko was just different kinda of typical anime romcom date spots. Though if I had to choose I’m rather fond of „aquarium“, courtesy of shows like Bloom Into You and the like ^^

The adjectives the girl used are part of their names... Hime in orihime is princess... Tora in Yasutora is tiger...
Saru in Sarugaki Hiyori's name means monkey... and Hirako's hira? i think means flat...
Just as an FYI Ryoka means "evil passerby"... as in intruder... that is why they were being called that back in soul society... it is not a specific kind of being...
I’m honestly think that a lot of people missing the point of Akira relationship to Kou and Mahiru. Let’s put this as a spoiler for shippers.
Akira doesn’t like Kou or Mahiru with romantic feelings. She does enjoy talking to both of them because they was friends before, and all 3 of them are currently going through an identity crisis. All 3 hated going to school. The only reason why Akira preferred talking to Kou was their reason to hate going to school is the same. Mahiru is a manga spoiler so I won’t bring him up here.
you guys should definitely check out isekai ojisan, its the hidden gem of this season

i think akira is jsut feeling down or not as excited since both her guy friends are actively with women at night and i think honestly she likes kou judging from her keeping the watch and such for so long and caring so much, i think akira found it strange mahiru who as kou said is a role model would be going out at night with a older woman and likes her and we don't know wht they are doing
I think you misunderstood Akira, she like Kou as friends with no romantic feelings involved. The reason why she kept the watch was because they was friends before that, but due to being in different classes and the gender barrier, Kou didn’t interact with her much. One of the reasons why she enjoy talking to Kou and Mahiru was they all going through an identity crisis. That the theme of Call of the night.

The little date dilemma part of the episode further expands on the different viewpoints the characters have on romance in our current age. The truth is that a majority of women (in both japanese and US culture) who think more along the lines of the vampire girls group, that in order to fall in love or catch actual feelings those kinds of dates are necessary and girls like Nazuna who aren't into that kind of thing are considered abnormal and weird.
Its kind of a shame because the more we progress as a society the more its becoming apparent that those kinds of dates really don't let you get to know someone at all. Sheera and Roshi commented on movies, but 20 years ago movie dates were the move! Now even getting drinks (alcohol or coffee, doesn't matter) is being scrutinized. Formal dates are beginning to feel like job interviews and even if things go well you end with a completely different person (figuratively) than you met on the date because it was pretty much a performance lol

There is just 1 character that remains a secret and they are probably THE most important character to the plot in the future and that character can be spotted in one scene of the OP. When that character gets introduced that's when the show is at it peak so get ready, and in the words of Captain Price "The rules WILL change"
