This drummer is sick! He'd elevated this song to the art level.
ikr that drummer is fucking brilliant.
Drummer kills it in every song. Suppppeeerrrr talented for sure. Not taking away from the rest of the band of course.
I know his naaaammmeee. 😜
And he has a UA-cam channel and he does drum covers as well. Phenomenal drummer

In the wise words of Chino - “it doesn’t have to be fast to be heavy.”
Nobody ever said it had to be...
??? heavy has always = slow
@@ryken_ Facts
Chino is in Deftones lmao not carnifex not too sure he has the right to talk about how to make something heavy haha
@@ryken_ Plenty of fast songs are heavy. But I know what you mean. Heavy is typically associated with that chunky or sludgy type of heavy.
I have never found a band that satisfies my taste for balanced screams/cleans with that ethereal feel and amazing lyrics. I am incredibly grateful to have found this band. 🖤
Old Rush. These blokes could be kin

What a NASTY outro damn
If I see you in the comments section, I know it's going to be superb 🔥
I didn’t think it was nasty at all… was pretty good actually.

I found Sugar first and I was so into it. These guys are on another level when it comes to their music
+1! Their music is so unique
I came here after watching Will Ramos' cover.

The image of the video has to be a portrait of the drummer. What a god!
Who is?

There has to be a third arm on their drummer somewhere.

God I love how dynamic this band is. Head-banging with one song and losing yourself in the next one. Incredible.
Know any similar bands/artists?
@@moisesojeda5647 Someone in a FB group mentioned a band called Stoneside. They're similar, but different with some nice variations and ideas. I'd never call them a rip-off, but they're obviously very inspired by Sleep Token. They have their own flavor for sure.
@@moisesojeda5647 Deftones lol seriously though Imminence is probably the closest to Sleep Token

@@moisesojeda5647 BMTH and Bad Omens, Falling in Reverse is also good
I'm surprised no one is mentioning how the drummer absolutely crushes this track, he carries the entire tune. Vessel is always doing his thing of course, but lets not take away from the true star here..... The chunky outro riff is a banger of course but this is a drum centric track let's be very serious
The drumming was the first thing i noticed when a friend recommended the album to me, i just dont comment much
the drummer remember Danny 'octupus' from tool, need to see with my own eyes the kick live
love from #Portugal
btw the logo clip, remindes an 'octupus'
^^
This drummer is the star of all their tracks. His licks near the end of "mine" and that jazzy section a little iber a minute deep in "the love you want" are just mouth watering. Taking something soft and adding hard drums to it without losing the feel of the track is something rarely done so well.

The way Vessel’s voice breaks at 2:17
Goosebumps

Absolutely
Yes I love when his voice breaks in any song he's so emotional and connected to his songs.
Just, wow 😱😱
HERETIC! FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!
exactly! Every song where Vessel gets so emotional to the point of his voice breaking absolutely shatters me every time. Especially the end of Blood sport
What the hell did i do to deserve this!?
I randomly press a video on my recommended page and it turns out to be an absolute masterpiece of a song! HOLY SHIT im almost speecless this was so good!!!!
Same!!
Facts. Brings my love of Hozier, old and new Bring Me The Horizon, Nü-Metal chunkiness and bounce, funky patterns and time signature changes, lean verses with the beat dropped out vs THICK choruses, the melancholy of Goth Rock’s tonality (Traitrs, Soft Kill, The Cure, Molchat Doma, so on) emotional lyrics, and the width of Meteora’s (Linkin Park) mix and master together in one place.. Considering I look like Robert Smith in my aesthetics normally? Their imagery does it for me, too. 🤝

I’m here because of Grayson Nekutmara absolutely killing his own interpretation, great drummer and did extremely well to get so close to II

pretty close, right?
The drummer is so underrated in this band. The tempo wild in this one fr if you can’t hear what I do I feel for ya. He’s doing some amazing things in all these songs I swear
Agreed. The drummer is outstanding!!!!! I feel it and it feels good !!!
Imagine this, opening Safari to this song spontaneously playing in the background. It starts with the guitar and I'm all "hell yeah". Then, the drums kick in and I'm thinking "Shit, these guys give tool a run for their money" (which has been my favourite band for 20 years). Im fully enthralled in this master piece when all of a sudden... he starts singing. I jump up, foot gets stuck on the aux cord for my amp and almost bail. Regain my balance to then trip over my 90 pound doberman. I basically raged war with all my living room furniture, fumbling to grab my phone so I could shazam the song before it ended. long story short... that is how I personally discovered Sleep Token.
Vessel's voice gives me goosebumps, I adore this song
You want goosebumps listen to anything Maynard James Keenan sings.
@@bakingsoda8522 Stop that. It's not a competition.
This is what it sounds like if Frank Sinatra got to metalcore. ElvisPresleycore.. 😂
Its official, this is my favorite Sleep Token song. The drums, bass, guitar, lyrics, background vocals. PERFECTION
I vote for "Ascencionism" :D
So far mine haven't heard o all of their stuff yet though
'Mine' is my favourite
This post rock vibe in the background is otherworldly. Worship!
I love when Sleep Token hits me with something in a song that I wasn't expecting but just works SO WELL that I physically rock back in my chair and almost fall over from the sheer force of it.

*This song has elevated my frequency and I'm no longer on the same vibrational plane.*
The fact that Will Ramos's cover has over 1M views and this doesn't is both upsetting and awesome. I really hope these guys get the proper recognition they deserve 🤘🏼🔥💯❤️
Sleep Token 2023 big time. Will lead me here. The Summoning beckoned me here. W O R S H I P
Will is an expectational monster though ahha. Especially to the non metal listeners thats probably why.
The fact Will Ramos covered this at all says enough though, he is in a league of his own with Lorna Shore. But you're right, this needs FAR more views!
It now has over 1 million views 🙂
❤❤
I was lucky enough to see them in concert with In This Moment.. they came out hard.. and silent.. no introduction.. just started playing and I was HOOKED
Was it in the US?
I'm so jealous of this. While I love Maria, I'd have to imagine Sleep Token is the star of that show.
Bangers after bangers, and that breakdown at the end ain’t no joke. Whether it’s an acapella or some wild shit like this ST will always be top notch.
Definitely one of the only bands that can score triple checks on pretty much every box, no matter what mood you're in.
wow thats the second surprising thing i have seen, surprised to see you here :D
This vocalist has some serious pipes. Pretty cool band from what I've heard thus far.
This song is fucking GORGEOUS. Song of the year for me, easy.
Yeup this and Mines are my fav
If it wasn't for trivium, it would be my song of the year(or maybe album of the year)
For me too, 💯 what a song
'mine' is better
@@mauriciogs I agree man…I think that’s my favorite
I can't get over that "And you make it more" at 3:17 it's just perfect... the timing, the mixing, the voice, the chords progression along with the changing of the singing note. It's sooo well done. I'm speechless
This song hypnotized me. No other way to put it. 😂
you just never think after a home run like "Sundowning" they can follow it up with another beast -- every song is incredible -- band is ridiculous
Very Lovecraftian The Old Ones all the incredible artwork on the album sleeve
Breathe of fresh air in metal especially with how many mediocre cookie cutter bands there are out here
then they did it again
I feel like *I feel* exactly the same as Vessel. Or at least what his voice and lyrics convey to me.
Emotional and physical pain that almost hurts the skin and at the same time pure ecstasy and desire. Pure desperation and longing for salvation, no matter what form.
And I don't know many singers who bring such feelings so close to you.
Such an incredible song!

Chino Moreno from Deftones, I believe that's where Sleep Token has taken their inspiration from
What the other guy said, and Tool/A perfect circle. Maynard has been doing that level of art since the early-mid 90s, at least in terms of vocals and emotion. Maynard tends to focus on a wider range of topics so it's not exactly down the alley that sleeptoken is.
Getting serious deftones vibes, instrumentally and lyrically speaking

the drums are really deftonesy
@@TheCivildecay For sure, the drummer does a cover of a Deftones song too so he’s definitely a fan

This is genius. Also shoutout to the recording engineers, mixing, and mastering engineers who made the audio quality so phenomenal for this band. It had to be a difficult ass job, cuz there’s so many parts and so many sounds. I’d probably shit my pants if I were in their shoes.
Working on a cover. Getting the sounds of everything timbre wise and balancing the parts has been quite a handful
