I love how you broke this down and explained it so well and clearly. I wish I had taken the time to learn this 25 years ago when I first picked up the guitar.
That was another awesome teaching James, many thanks! I found out why you are so good: you do not act like a show-off, you stick with the purpose of the teaching. really great!
What guitar do you use in this video.? Your tutorials are great for beginners and your step-by-step techniques are easy to follow. Excellent instructor
James thanks so much for this video . When I was taking lessons my teacher wrote this progression down but didn’t explain it at all . I’ve been staring at it for months 😂 Now I’m actually practicing this and it really gets my fingers moving . This is a great exercise ! You rock! 👍🏼
Hello Elisha, thanks for the comment. I would love to follow-up with you in the future - in a way it holds you accountable to practice too :) I'm glad this has gotten you onto the right path. Looking forward to speaking again!
That's my blues! I'm still into this...on acoustic. In E7, in A7, in C7. The riffs and licks are in process. Started late, practicing 7 years but I can't memorize my scales lol. I only can do the scales in E. That said, the 12 bar isn't hard. Later, I did "break" the 4 times let's say E7 I do E7/A7/E7/E7/E7. Then A7/A7/E7/E7, B7/...etc. Thanks James for this lesson! 🎶🎶🎶
I’m very interested in understanding the musical adds at the end during the final riff. I’m able to follow along but love where you slid way up the neck and back down. How do I learn how to do that and make it sound good?
So true he saying simple for beginners. This is far from beginner level. This is advanced this is why everybody on UA-cam the claim to teach beginners or not the person who teaches the best is Lauren Bateman. She’s the best beginner Guitar Teacher I’ve seen on UA-cam.
The blues is a massive topic. Today we covered the very basics... what other things about it would you like to learn?
We don't know, we're beginners. We want something that sounds like music 😁

Thank you. Have been struggling with this as 75 year old beginner. Very best video I’ve seen for clarity.
