Honestly? I’d lean into the scene influences. Black blouse, black belt, dark stockings, chunky Mary Janes or boots, and more gothic accessories. Clip in pink and green streaks to your hair and scrawl on eyeliner like you’re a drunk toddler. It may not be completely Lolita, but it may help the dress work.

@@sugarplum2467 I think the problem is more the green and yellow tones in the dress rather than the pink tones near the top and bottom of the dress. Overall that dress is a huge challenge to work with

I feel like the colors are pretty cute! My problem is that the pattern is so busy without anything to really break it up ^^; Haven’t finished the video, but I’m looking forward to seeing how you style it!
Same! I thought what this definitely needs is a belt that matches the top and the hem. Also because I think a strip of fabric dividing the top and the skirt always looks pretty. And I also think it would make more sense to put the bow on the waist and not on the collar bone. It makes the top look too busy and the bottom plain
I feel like an overskirt would really help to separate the busy pattern into little chunks, it could also help to play into a hime vibe. I love the idea of a little crown, maybe some smaller scene bangs with a singular curly pigtail? a neon yellow tshirt or blouse would really help the coord. overall, this dress actually gives me a lot of coord ideas :9

I would personally coord it with the yellows. AP has a lot of recent blouse releases that were yellow. I don't get to see many people coord yellow pieces so I could be biased lol

I love both co-neko blouses, the lighter pink lets the cord be a little more subdued (for whipped magic). This is my favorite print! My absolute favorite. I love it in all its chaotic glory and i was so excited to get my hands on it (with the headbow!) last year.
There was the black , a dark pink, and a light pink colorways. You have the lighter pink. I have the dark pink OP and it's still one of my favorite dresses but I'm an 80s baby and loved neon. Also, it looks great with my neon pink hair. And it's fun to find obnoxious bright accessories... I love pastels or goth but this one is so summery.
It's so wild to me that people didn't like this dress, because if I had known about it before hand I would *absolutely* own it, it's so beautiful and the bright colors are such a good vibe!
Looks like it's time for all of us to request a how to clean your wigs video, for Lor's sake. This video was so informative! I'd love to see you style one of the hideous animal print dresses next if you enjoyed doing this one.
I think a neon green long sleeve blouse would be hella fun with this JSK with a matching green petticoat peaking from the bottom. Purple sheer tights and purple headpiece with cupcakes on it. White Mary Janes and a funky earring. Cupcake shaped purse. Pink to purple ombre wig that's slightly tied back so it's like a loose ponytail and pieces hanging out the front so that the front isn't too busy. Alternatively, a white short sleeve blouse with one long glove that's purple and one that's green. The same mismatch for the socks too and Pink shoes. A bright white wig. If long gloves are too much, mismatch wrist cuffs could be fun! -sincerely, not a Lolita but a fashion major
I feel like this dress would also go amazingly with mostly black coords, really lean into the scene look with some shredded black tights and go a little more goth/punk? You did a bang-up job btw, these colors are tough to work with but you made the dress look really sweet. I'm just a hot mallgoth mess and feel like it could also work really well with that aesthetic considering the neon colors, but I also will pair anything and everything with shredded black stuff given the opportunity.
I honestly love the white blouse with this dress. Though I'd hunt down an acid green wig somewhere. I love that green and you don't often see it in general much less paired with a more workable color.
The green of the cupcakes reminds me of pistachio, I feel like leaning into that a bit and adding little bits of green here and there would look nice with it. I've been making and selling different "flavors" of polymer clay macaron necklaces for a while now, it kind make me wanna make a pistachio necklace and earring ( +ring perhaps ) set. I think the cupcake headpiece was a good idea too! Maybe with some fake strawberry pocky or something with it to add more visual detail as well as incorporating the hotter pink color. Maybe sprinkles in the yellow and purple that's on the dress, too.
The purples will look the best with this dress due to purple being the contrasting color to yellow! It will make the print pop and look very cool. Lastly, introducing white to this print isn’t very flattering in my opinion, it adds a new color to the already very busy color scheme so a fitting yellow like that sheer cardigan you wore would be a better “safe-choice” :) amazing video as always!!
the picnic look is a dream!! i always tought that the black version would look awesome for some halloween/ creepy cute/ bittersweet style. Purples with this jsk went very pretty. (loved alice closet too didn´t knew of it now i´m very interested!)
I've always had a weakness for Whipped Magic. I passed on buying it a few yeara ago for super cheap. I didn'r get it because at the time I was anxious of what my local community would think (they were a bit snobby at the time). Now I hunt for it all the time. Makes me so happy to see it! It's only made me more determinded! Xxx
Furby Bestie! That's fun seeing a "weird" dress come from a core Lolita fashion brand. I like how you styled it and this made me nostalgic for the Gourmet Cupcake trend!
16:25 is my favorite and the fact that it uses the "unspeakable bow" makes it even better XD. Of course the bow isn't great quality so I think ur idea of commissioning a better quality version is a great idea! However I would try to keep with the color it is now because I feel like matching the main body pink balances better than matching the bodice bow pink. It softens up the look and the color scheme helping to tone down the screaming highlighter green of the cupcakes into somthing more cute and fun. Using the bright pink bow color would probably strengthen the green's strength in the color scheme (as pink is a lightened red and red is the opposite of green and you would be using a brighter, stronger pink aka red) making it feel over powering and leading to the "atomic cupcake" effect. Either way out of all of them I feel like the coordinate captures the energy and style of the piece really well.
I had no idea how many colorways there was for this dress. I just knew there was a pink and black version. It was back when bittersweet was still trying to work Furby bestie
The Alice Closet ad made me think of Style Savvy. I feel like you would really like that game, or it would be an interesting video topic. It's a DS/3DS game about owning a boutique and dressing up. It has tons of j-fashion (gyaru, pop kei, visual kei) and lolita fashion in sweet, country, classic, and gothic. It's kinda a hidden gem and it's one of my favorite game series of all time.
The art reminded me of Arina Tanemura and now I know why. I liked the way the yellow jacket (?), Kaneko blouses, crap bow -- I'm really surprised you made it look good -- and the cupcake headpiece looked. The Furby bestie is cute.
I...... this is my first time seeing this dress and as someone who is still very much into scene fashion as well as Lolita it is absolutely now a dream dress for me holy shit I love it!!!!!!
At first, the video confused me a little bit at first when you were going through options. But then it felt kinda like when I put together outfits and I liked going through the process with you ☺️ thanks Lor!
You styled Radioactive Cupcakes so well!!!! I feel like it would also be so good with a punk/scene twist~ Can't wait to see that one day out in the universe hahaha! 👾edit: also YOUR FURBY BESTIE IS SO CUTE!!!! 💫 Unrelated to the video, but I had a wild dream about about walking around with you in lolita in a place full of beautiful and cute things last night. As we were leaving, Holly (also in complete EGL glory) brought over this menagerie of Cirque-du-Soleil-esque marshmellow/candy people named The Marshmellow Cult in a full blown parade; all to make you their queen and celebrate existence with as a gift from her to you for your birthday. It was a gorgeous dreamworld, fun as hell, and the character designs and dresses were something I've got to make something out of one day because just- *chefs kiss* all 'round. But yeah! Thought I'd share it with you even though it's weird, haha! Wish you well~ 🌺✨💣
Furby bestie~~~ Given I have more Classic-leaning tastes, I respect the heck out of anyone who can style this dress at all. It’s an interesting print that reflects the time it was released, and it’s kind of fun to see such neon colors being used in lolita fashion, but I would NOT be confident enough to wear it. I hope you’ll find more ways to style it Lor, I’d love to see what you come up with!
I like pink and green combos so I kinda love the print lol. A lime green blouse could be fun with it, or even something that’s not really lolita for a more experimental look
Back in the day I had the hot pink OP. I don't wear lolita anymore but I'm glad that when I was into AP sweet it was during their height around the late 2000's - early 2010's. Its making me feel all nostalgic seeing it come back. Sometimes I want to rebuy the magical etoile, royal poodle and milky plant dresses that I used to have. I still have my memorial cake skirt at least. Edit: I had the sugary carnival special set and the jsk was the exact same design as the whip magic jsk, so its been done before, maybe just not on the main line of print pieces.
So I have one question.... did this print fade at all? I feel as though older photos that have been color adjusted really wanted that green to be like a lime green, while here they look more like a bright pistachio? Which makes sense for the cupcake theme. Even the pinks don't seem as hot/neon as the old photos want it to be. Maybe the hot pink colorway is a bit different, but green and yellow are kind of rare in the fashion mint is a sort of green sometimes I guess but that's really it.
Ok but imagine doing a sherbet themed outfit with this by mixing other aesthetics. Like wearing those cloud shaped colored sunglasses that match the dresses colors. It gives me like old fashioned summer dress vibes and I feel like it has so much potential.
This dress reminds me of a gourmet cupcake bakery that used to be popular in my area!! Their theme colors were pink and green! It was so cute and i miss their cupcakes
I’m so confused on why anyone would hate this dress! I just got the yellow OP with head bow. I’m absolutely in love with it, it’s so pretty and comfortable!
FURBY BESTIE but for reals though I absolutely want the Whip Magic jsk in hot pink specifically because neon pink is like, my whole thing. Also I love the whole split wig look and that violet Sentaro blouse coord? Fantastic! Super cute looks.
This is such a good idea for a video, really challanging yourself! And I personally really like all of the final results! I really enjoyed seeing the process too!
I was /almost/ into Lolita fashion a few years ago but went more the pastel goth route,, but this video was so interesting to me and I loved watching you style this!
The green looks almost like the green that is on the opposite side of the colourwheel of that light pink, so all it does is remind me of flowers. I don't mind it, but I don't really wear sweet, so I'm not exactly the demographic for the dress. Also, yay, MVP energy.
This dress seems like it’d do wonders for a neon scene kid lolita look 😍 Edit: I’m thinking of a black or dark grey t-shirt or blouse underneath and black n white striped tights/socks and then a mixed match neon goth punk boots, in a magenta and green and then have a traditional scene kid hairstyle with cupcake themed jewelry and hair accessories
I know next to nothing about Lolita fashion, but if I encountered that dress in the wild I would be tempted to use fabric paint to add dripping icing/slime in yellow (or even more green) to the bow and the bottom section and just run with the toxic/radioactive vibes. But that's just the perspective of a complete outsider who found your thumbnail fascinating! Edit: I'm doing this for you, Furby Bestie, because Furbies scare the lace and eyelets outta me.
I’m not a Lolita but hear me out- when I heard “radioactive cupcake” I was filled with so much imagery of sickly sweet drippy makeup and apocalyptic clothing. I’d say lean into the gaudiness of it and make an “atomic cupcake” coord.

Your first coord with this dress is wonderful! I love the hat, it’s very picnic-y indeed
It was back when bittersweet was still trying to work

The part where you dangled your fishnet tights sent my cat absolutely feral 😂 she was a big fan
I love this print tbh. The cyberpunk/lolita mix is awesome imo
The art reminded me of Arina Tanemura and now I know why. I liked the way the yellow jacket (?), Kaneko blouses, crap bow -- I'm really surprised you made it look good -- and the cupcake headpiece looked. The Furby bestie is cute.
Personally I like the style of video. I like how you explain and try on different blouses to see what works best with your coordinate😍😍😍
omg your white/very light pink look during the sponsor segment......... you look absolutely ethereal its so good
I...... this is my first time seeing this dress and as someone who is still very much into scene fashion as well as Lolita it is absolutely now a dream dress for me holy shit I love it!!!!!!
The all pink coord is SO CUTE!! Rather than regal, the blouse paired with this dress gives me clown vibes
furby bestie!!
I was glad to see so much purple worked into these coords, that was gonna be my first guess at styling it😅💜💚💕
At first, the video confused me a little bit at first when you were going through options.
Unrelated to the video, but I had a wild dream about about walking around with you in lolita in a place full of beautiful and cute things last night. Wish you well~ 🌺✨💣
Furby bestie~~~
Given I have more Classic-leaning tastes, I respect the heck out of anyone who can style this dress at all. It’s an interesting print that reflects the time it was released, and it’s kind of fun to see such neon colors being used in lolita fashion, but I would NOT be confident enough to wear it. I hope you’ll find more ways to style it Lor, I’d love to see what you come up with!
bestie! Absolutely loved this look book and the explanations and the challenge that went with it!
Oooo, bad releases are really interesting! I love hearing about them and seeing the reality of the situation
I actually like it, green and pink is an underrated combination imo
Your pink and yellow makeup is adorable 🎀💛🎀
The black hair looks the very best with it in my opinion!
this kind of stuff is really helpful for people who are new to lolita like myself so just thank you
Bestie! I really like when you do the posing shots, it makes showing off the coordinates fun.
I’m so confused on why anyone would hate this dress! I just got the yellow OP with head bow. I’m absolutely in love with it, it’s so pretty and comfortable!
My takeaway from this (aside from Lor being able to make coords with pretty much any dress!) is that someone needs to style Lillie in a lolita coord.
Bestie,
I’m hunting for the yellow colourway of the OP! I love how people are coming around for Whip Magic, it has such a special place in my heart.
💕💚💕 pink/green is like the perfect combo
I was /almost/ into Lolita fashion a few years ago but went more the pastel goth route,, but this video was so interesting to me and I loved watching you style this!
..The radioactive cupcakes was made for me, DRR DRR.
The green looks almost like the green that is on the opposite side of the colourwheel of that light pink, so all it does is remind me of flowers.
I don't mind it, but I don't really wear sweet, so I'm not exactly the demographic for the dress.
Also, yay, MVP energy.
This dress seems like it’d do wonders for a neon scene kid lolita look 😍
Edit: I’m thinking of a black or dark grey t-shirt or blouse underneath and black n white striped tights/socks and then a mixed match neon goth punk boots, in a magenta and green and then have a traditional scene kid hairstyle with cupcake themed jewelry and hair accessories
