Especially for POCs and even more so POCs who are male there is a large stigma around mental health and not being something you address and if you do, you don't address it openly. I always worked 2 or 3 jobs but still had time for fun. I also bought rental units in Los Angeles as a single person and always lived below my means. In the USA, individuals living in cars due to partial homelessness result from a complex interplay of factors. High housing costs relative to income, stagnant wages, and income inequality drive this issue. Job loss, weak social support, medical expenses, evictions, and lack of affordable housing also contribute, while systemic problems and inadequate policies further perpetuate the phenomenon.

      Considering the present situation, diversifying by shifting investments from real estate to financial markets or gold is recommended, despite potential future home price drops. Given prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, this move is prudent, particularly due to stricter mortgage regulations. Seeking advice from a knowledgeable independent financial advisor is advisable for those seeking guidance.

      @@Mark-mt2xn you’re not wrong at all, financially and mathematically yes it makes sense but people never keep in mind life happens and that humans happen. Meaning he could get sick or injured, some other expense can come up, him and his gf could have an unplanned child etc. Basically you probably wouldn’t take out a $5000 loan to invest in crypto, so why not just pay off the $5000 loan now if you have that much in savings and investments and you’ll never have to worry about that $5k loan again and the extra savings from paying off the loan can go right back into savings and investments and build up even faster

    The money pie chart is interesting but is perhaps too simplistic for his situation. He runs a business, technically. Which means a lot of items can be deducted from taxes. If he is in front of the camera, for instance, clothes, grooming, etcetera can be itemized. And if he uses his living space as office, he also gets further deductions. So, the pie chart at 3:35 isn't really giving us significant information at all...

    I’ve been in the production biz for several years and have worked my way up to producer. I’d like to know what production company is paying their APs 6 figures? APs typically tap out 65-75k (and that’s for all the major networks). The fact that he doubled his salary through freelancing and OT is insane!

      @Hunchoz Higher than NYC? Wow. I lived in NYC for almost 5 years. Worked at the Big 3 (NBC, ABC, and CBS) and have experience as a freelancer and staff member. I made almost 70k as an AP but I was hourly and had at least 15-20 hours of OT a week. This was in 2018. I've never met an AP who made over 75k (as a base salary). By that point, they were all producers.

As an immigrant self made, now middle aged, millionaire who went through his share of ups and downs, let me humbly offer some advice….don’t ever put at risk your base income and savings in any one future business venture and don’t make “a million” the goal. Others may disagree and it may take longer but success is not gambling your hard earned savings. You are highly intelligent, you will find a way to achieve both goals simultaneously. Focus on the success of your ventures and the money will come.

      Yeah, you need WAY more in CA to be considered well off because housing is extremely expensive and competitive. Median household income in LA is 65k, and and 30k for individuals. 100k is enough to rent a good studio/one bedroom apartment with amenities. 150k+ is needed for a median condo (600k+). 200k is needed for a median house (880k+). The people who are well off earn hundreds of thousands from jobs (300-500k/year with stock), and then millions if they have a business. Those are the people who will out-compete everyone else.

Don’t push people away, surround yourself with people who are spiritually mature and get the help that you need. Isolation when you are in pain and don’t know if there’s a way out is dangerous and that’s why we have suicide cases. This is why broke people stay broke. Rich people get rich by using debt. They borrow against their assets. Why knock out that 5k asap when you dont have to pay right now? Much better to invest that 5k into an index fund.

    • @LinxuSx
      @LinxuSx 2 роки тому +20

       @Bonkers Videos There's more than one way to become wealthy. The majority of millionaires in this country actually have very little debt that's not tied to an income producing asset (e.g. rental properties). I personally have been following the Dave Ramsey approach and have had zero regrets paying off all debts other than mortgage. The money that had been going to car payments and student loans is now going monthly in to index funds and real estate. I went from an almost $0 net worth to $575k in about 4 years once I realized I had a spending problem and not an income problem. Most broke people stay broke because they are living beyond their means, and not necessarily because they do or don't pay off debt. You don't need a fancy car. You don't need a $100k education.
