@@outlandishoverland I just bought a 2024 Colorado ZR2. I probably would not have bought it unless I watched your channel many times. I’m blessed enough to have been capable of buying the Raptor Ranger the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro or in this case the ZR2. The ZR2 presented the best value and so much capability as proven by your videos. This is why I bought it. Chevy really owes you a debt of gratitude for showcasing just how good this truck is.
I miss Utah sooo much. I first visited a few years ago to cover a rocket booster test for the Artemis program and instantly fell in love with the state. I've never been somewhere that immediate felt like home.... even more so than my actual home. Since then, we visit at least once a year, but only have a rental car... so the trails are off-limits. Thanks for sharing this and showing me more of a place I love.
@@outlandishoverland Absolutely! Utah is on my shortlist of places to move in the near future. I'm now working because I want to, not because I have to... and we plan to head out there again in a month or two to look at houses.
@@PatrickRich Also did a bit more research and technically according to my maps this trail resides in the Uinta National Forest, so I wasn't totally wrong. 😅
That's definitely in the future plans. I'm hoping I can just get a high clearance bumper by then. Just been patiently waiting for the aftermarket to catch up.
Thank you! Yes the shocks on the truck are stock, but it does have upgraded leaf springs for the weight and a few other suspension mods. I have a full breakdown video on my channel.
Looks Fun! I've been wanting to run that trail since moving to Utah. I take it you had to drive in from the Midway side since the AF Canyon way is still closed?
I “accidentally” rode my adventure bike (KTM 790) down this trail after dropping in from Ridge (157) to Forest Lake single track (171). Definitely a bit punchy. Funny how some things are waaaay easier on a bike (I can ride around a bunch of stuff) and some are waaaay harder. :-)
Cool video, but not the hardest trail in the area. Mineral basin which is just another 5 minutes down the dirt road is more diffcult. Can we see that trail next time?
@@mtbAndre1 Didn't know about it as it's not marked on OnX Off-road as a trail, but according to Trails Offroad both Mineral Basin and Forest Lake Trail have the exact same rating. 🤷 So arguably they are both equally the hardest trails in the area. I will for sure check it out though!
Mineral basin is still closed due to avalanche damage. Many of us believe it will be closed forever due to political reasons. There’s a legion of Karen’s in Utah that won’t rest until every off-road trail is permanently closed.
@@outlandishoverlandit’s the district/forest and in the western US those can be ginormous and encompass huge portions of states and mountain ranges. So still not completely accurate. You should really head over to the Uintas, however. You would love it. They are the highest range in Utah and are definitely worth a visit. The north slope has a million places to explore. I clicked the link as I thought your were really there. Still a good video, bruh.
Just great content after great content! You show just how capable the Colorado ZR2 truly is.
Thanks! It truly is a great platform!

Nice glad to hear! It's an awesome truck and I love mine everyday. Don't think Chevy is going to notice my little channel unfortunately lol
great job 👍
Thank you

If you can it's worth the move. We moved here from Florida about 2 years ago and have no regrets. So many beautiful places just around the corner.

Wow! Not what I expected to see in Utah! I am going to have to come up there and check it out! Awesome video!
Thank you!
WOW!! beautiful, I definitely need to check Utah Rockies out! Thank you for sharing! 💯💥
Thanks for watching!
Taken many vehicles up there from atvs and side by sides to full size trucks. Its a fun little jaunt!
Yes it is!
This is awesome!! Definitely not van friendly haha! Would love to link up with you next time im out there, keep making more awesome videos!!
Thank you!
That looks really fun!!!!
It's a blast 🤟
Love your videos. How did you repaint your badging? I love that yellow!!
Thank you! I just took them off with a heat gun and some patience and painted them.
I like Forest lake trail, its a winner, but its not in the Uinta mountain range, its in the Wasatch.
@@PatrickRich You are right, my mistake. 😬 One mountain ranger over. Appreciate the correction!
@@outlandishoverland for a similar Uinta experience try Norway flats
@@PatrickRich Will definitely look into that! Thank you!

*Uinta National Forest. Wasatch Mountains. Nice video 😊
@@skybell9218 Yes correct, my error, I was half right 😅 Thank you!
Awe Fjuk, I just washed my FJ. I guess I'll go tomorrow anyway.
Great video. Trail is close to home for me.
Thank you and nice, it's a fun trail to check out!
Get a tow hook slider.. just a recommendation, I live at 7k here in CO.
That's definitely in the future plans. I'm hoping I can just get a high clearance bumper by then. Just been patiently waiting for the aftermarket to catch up.
So beautiful! Az ain’t ever that green ! 😍
It's crazy because most of Utah is a desert 🤣
What road did you take to get there? Did you go up through tibblefork?
I took the American Fork Snake Road but you have to take it from the Midway side. The American Fork side is currently closed for repairs.
Where is this truck made? great video
It's made in Missouri
What psi for tires? I scratched up one of my rims ramming into a rock on gatekeeper 😢
I usually run around 15 PSI
first vid and it was awesome. beautiful truck. Is the suspension stock for a ZR2?
Thank you! Yes the shocks on the truck are stock, but it does have upgraded leaf springs for the weight and a few other suspension mods. I have a full breakdown video on my channel.
I have one that might be a little more challenging. We call it cutthroat. Just north of Elizabeth ridge. The trail runs along the Wyoming border fence
Looks Fun! I've been wanting to run that trail since moving to Utah. I take it you had to drive in from the Midway side since the AF Canyon way is still closed?
Yes that is correct you have to come in from the Midway side
I noticed someone asked the same question in another comment. You went through Midway. Anyways, Great video! Keep it up!
To get here is passing straight on timble fork reservoir?
To get to this trail is coming up American Fork Snake Creek trail from the Midway side.
@@outlandishoverland I am trying to find it through on x but can only see it from the reservoir and it said is closed
@@haroldlouis4004 It is open from the Midway side....
@@outlandishoverland so go to midway and then get in american fork snake trail and that way I can access it?

Yeah this is very true depends on the terrain.
I oqn a 2924 zr2. Loiking ti xhangw out tgw crappt goodyear territort mt tires. What tire brands did you look for to be installed on your zr2 trucj?
I currently have on the ZR2 Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws. These tires were take-offs of my previous truck. They are a fantastic tire.
When was this filmed
@@ShaneBeimer Late June of this year

Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.

This is not the hardest trail up that canyon.
They what is? Cause according to OnX and Trail Offroad App this is the hardest trail in the area.
