Your takes and ad-libbing on this episode were spot on hilarious and had me lol'ing irl for almost this entire video, And that ending 🤣🤣😆😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣 GREAT one, Kurt
Great Job Kurt! Regarding the home on Malibu Road, not only is the Jacuzzi still there but in the Redfin photos from 2022 you can also see the same exact door with the unique design and hanging light in front of it which you can see in the scene as he's leaving the courtyard!
That beach house that is red in the clip has been in lots of TV shows. It was used in the pilot of Mod Squad and an episode of PoliceWoman. If I remember correctly it is in Paradise Cove, the same area that Rockford Files was filmed.
Not that the story lines for CHiPs were ever the greatest, but those last few years, they did get a little strange, when I was a kid that never mattered, the stuff you now see again as an adult is a little strange, but I still love all the CHiPs episodes. Its cool to see that some of the places they filmed are still exactly the same, keep doing what you are doing!
Good job man, I’m so glad I found your channel. As a skateboarder in the 80’s from Ohio I loved chips because of all the California scenes like you would see in thrasher and transworld. Transworld! Ha!
Great video, as always, Kurt. Well, it was the 2nd to last episode of the show before it went off the air, and it is clear that the creative team had run out of ideas or just didn't care anymore and had long ago jumped the shark.
I was an avid CHiPS viewer as a kid and loved this episode, with Elvira in a guest role. An actual Halloween episode, that aired on Halloween 1982, was "Rock Devil Rock". You've already done a video on it, and it starred Happy Days' Don Most as a combination of Gene Simmons/Ozzy Osbourne/ King Diamond who is apparently being targeted for assassination. One of my favorite episodes because of the cheesiness of the song "Devil Take Me", that they wrote for "Moloch". It's just as bad-yet-good as the song "I Need Pain", for the fake punk band Pain in "Battle of the Bands".
I'm wondering if this was supposed to air as a Halloween episode and it got bumped due to production delays... Or maybe even it was pre-empted in October by a breaking news Special Report that NBC News carried instead of CHiPs.
Growing up in LA, late 70s, early 80s, half of the entertainment of watching CHiPs was cracking up at how they magically transported themselves from, say, Sylmar to Zuma, simply by rounding a corner at an intersection in North Hollywood. 😂 Nice job with these! ♥️
That was one weird episode! I stopped watching a couple seasons before this. Never seen it. As always your videos are excellent! It is surprising how bad the editing was back then. I don't know how you find all the locations. It must take many hours of scouting and research. Thank you!!!
I had stopped watching the show by this season too. A few years ago I bought the series on DVD. This final season is actually a lot of fun. I think the writers knew the show had run its course and people were bored so they just started coming up with all these wacky ideas. They definitely leaned into the comedy more this last season.
Yes, it starts out as a '62 Miller-Meteor, then magically becomes a '63 Superior just before the rollover 😂. I remember noticing that as a kid and loved seeing Elvira in this episode. Good times!
I love when you point out their poor edits. Look, she’s a dude now! 😂 Locations are definitely your wheelhouse. You’re the undisputed best when it comes to this category. I’ve seen others and it’s just not the same
@@aircnc9385when the Surfers were fighting with the dudes in the van then all the sudden there was mannequins cruising around in the van with the driver instead of the dudes that were in the passenger seats moments earlier🎉😅😂
For the first half of season 1 Rockford's trailer was not in Malibu cove but in a parking lot near the Malibu pier which is still there. Kurt probably drove by it while filming this episode.
About 3 years ago I had to go out of town for my job and my Wife sent me a photo of Eric Estrada and her hugging with big smiles on their faces. I was like WTH!!? Turns out that he came to our church in N. IL doing a church tour of sorts. I believe to promote a Christian themed book. I understand that he’s a really great guy. Hasn’t aged much/badly either.
Thank you for this episode! I remember that creepy monster episode and as a child it freaked me out. Great memories and love the filming locations you spotted. Great job!
I can tell how much research work went in it and actually how physically tedious it must have been. Really entertaining!! God Bless Rich Little!! Kelly Preston RIP Doll
I remember watching this episode when i was a kid because i had just got home from trick or treating with some friends and i wanted to get and watch this because i was a big CHIPS fan and Elvira was guest staring. That was a pretty hilarious ending to this vid, your facial expressions were really funny Kurt!
Interesting thing to note about the editing- If you watch the HD widescreen versions of the show on streaming platforms you'll see a lot of 'bogeys'" or errant objects being seen on either side of the frame that you wouldn't have seen on tv. These far edges weren't as important to keep clean as they would never be seen on 4:3 aspect ratio TV's of the day. I've seen crew people, base camp, grip trucks, sandbags, you name it since watching it on Amazon, it's great. AND at 6:32 that's my old neighbor in Hollywood Joel Weiss 😎!!
I’ve just started binge watching your CHiPs episodes and these are great! I watched CHiPs as a kid but don’t remember this episode at all. I’m going to have to watch it again to try to get what was the deal with the Sea Thing.
How about Chips episode “Supercycle”, what/where is/was the abandoned movie backlot in the beginning for the jump scene? Keep it up, always enjoy the content!
Isn't Malibu a bit of a hike from their station? Can you imagine officers covering an area (of Los Angeles)that requires them to drive 30 miles from the station in order to get started? And memorize all the street names in between.

Keep these CHiPs location episodes coming!
The humor always cracks me up 😂😂
I love your CHiPs filming locations.
Always feels like Christmas when we get a new CHiP’s vid! 👏🏻🫠👏🏻

Cassandra Peterson's eyes, wow, just beautiful.
Makes my day when I see a new Chips episode done masterfully by you!
Your takes and ad-libbing on this episode were spot on hilarious and had me lol'ing irl for almost this entire video, And that ending 🤣🤣😆😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣 GREAT one, Kurt
That was great! Thanks for making / posting . . needed something fun today
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
The ending of the vid is the best part 😂🤣😂🤣
[Good one!] Gotta love them 80s baby!🤍💯👍!
Love all the CHiP's videos Kurt. Chips and Emergency were my 2 favorites growing up ❤ Thank you!!
I loved Emergency, too!
Thank you for the great video Kurt!!

This wasn't a Halloween episode? You sure? It should've been. I love your GPK shirt 🤜
Right??? Haha. It's ridiculous. Came out in April.
Almost like it was supposed to be an April Fool's episode.@@80sLife

The round hot tub at the Malibu house is visible in the aerial view of that address.
I swear to God Kurt I love your videos. LONG LIVE 80s LIFE!!!!

Love these, grew up in Agoura in the 70-80's and my Mom is still there I know all these spots, looking fwd to the Fletch episode !
Amazing ending 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Love the CHiP’s vids. I was born at Hollywood Presbyterian! Really cool!
Growing up in LA, late 70s, early 80s, half of the entertainment of watching CHiPs was cracking up at how they magically transported themselves from, say, Sylmar to Zuma, simply by rounding a corner at an intersection in North Hollywood. 😂 Nice job with these! ♥️
Good to know there's technically 3 Halloween episodes when you add this one to Rock Devil Rock and Trick or Trick with "the hobgoblin"
I ❤ your CHiP's episodes 😊, and many other of your vids as well 🥰. Good work, thanks.
10:18 wow that's scary! And love that ending.

Sometimes it takes WAY too long. Thank you for the support.
i remember seeing a rerun of this and was completely convinced that this was a Halloween episode
Love it!
Excellent! Always well done episode coverage.
Another banger of an episode dude!!!
Chips episodes are the best😂nice job as always
Another fantastic episode. I agree. This was a freaky episode
Can’t believe Kelly Preston is gone. Life is capricious.
Funny that the hearse that gets wrecked is a 1963-64 model while the one used in the rest of the chase is a 61-62.

I do love your vids. The quality of them are top notch
Great detective work as usual. I just wanted to point out that this episode was filmed over 40 years ago, not 30. Time flies.
I love when you point out their poor edits. Look, she’s a dude now! 😂 Locations are definitely your wheelhouse. You’re the undisputed best when it comes to this category. I’ve seen others and it’s just not the same

Chips was so lazy about that stuff. I can remember noticing it as a little kid.

I agree. Without a doubt. Not only does he find the most remote and rare filming locations but points out things we all missed.@@aircnc9385
You rock with that ending keep on bringing more episodes
Great job love this 👍
It seems like there's more beach in the 80s. That means it will me no more in 10 years. That sucks for all the houses.
I think I’m addicted to these videos! 😂
Hey you should do the filming sites for the Rockford files.
Tons of filming sites 😃
It ran from 1974 to 1980
For the first half of season 1 Rockford's trailer was not in Malibu cove but in a parking lot near the Malibu pier which is still there. Kurt probably drove by it while filming this episode.
You are, bar none, the best at these location videos. Love your channel!
If memory serves me right, the animatronic clown from Pee-wee's Big Adventure was in Elvira's shop.
I never realized until today, that this was not a Halloween episode.

I would totally watch some show that's consistently bizarre like that
Fantastic work sir! Always a pleasure to watch and enjoy 👍
Heck yes Kurt! I love your chips episodes!🎉 thanks buddy

Rich Little in a pale blue suit driving a Chrysler Imperial ... what could be more scary?
What an Scooby Doo type of episode.

BRILLIANT 👍🏻
I always love the videos. Matching things up is awesome. Details like that is what keeps me watching. Top notch editing as always.
I love these, I thought I was the only one always wanting to know these spots. You should think about doing Charlie’s Angels too, lots of great spots.
Always a blessing when you discuss CHiPs. Please talk about the alien one some day
This absolutely should have been a Halloween episode. Great video as usual.

Cool..isn't that same car used in suburbia movie?!? Vts copper olds
I can't believe I didn't realize how absurd this show was when I was a kid, but I loved it!

Absolutely great video. I remember this episode so well from when I was a kid. Thanks man. Appreciate your channel
That pink house was also in the episode where they work out of a Malibu station.
Great Work! More CHiPs please.
Awesome 😂to always a thumbs up 👍
Another great video. I love your filming location videos.
This is so great! Well done!
Thank you. I really appreciate that
Epic and awesome!! Tks K.K.
I think that blue oldsmobile cutlass was in it twice or many times also with that station wagon 😂😂😂😂
Love your running form
Amazing work!
Linahan’s House was used in a couple A-Team Episodes i believe its 3
Look how few skyscrapers in downtown LA
The ending.... just get out the car!!! ... hope you made it home haha
I use to live across the street from the chips CHP headquarters off of Washington and Norwood, the house are now gone just a parking lot
