Weird seeing y'all at Beaver Valley Bowl, my old stomping grounds. I see the house where I had my 1st son over your left shoulder when talking to the camera. Drank and bowled there many many times! Even had the cops come and unlock my car in that parking lot y'all were standing in. Keep up the great work!
McKnight Bowling Lanes in Ross Twp was in the movie. I’m surprised you didn’t check it out. I grew up bowling there and was so excited when it saw it was in Kingpin. Great video though, thanks for sharing.
You guys are such a breath of fresh air in the chaos of todays world, I applaud the fact that you did not want to show the hate comments on the walls of beaver valley bowling as others would just to get that little extra, not needed. I love what you are doing taking us along to all these forgotten, abandoned places and old filming locations, it is fun to see then vs now and I thank you for filming it for us all to enjoy. Also that green hair is fantastic Jess and any woman who wears flip flops as much as you do is A OK in my book.
Beaver Valley Bowl was active through 2019. In July of that year there was a huge hazmat fire and cleanup in the neighborhood that closed it for a while. It was also used a good bit in filming season one of the Netflix series "I am not okay with this" (Season two was cancelled due to COVID in 2020). It is amazing how these old buildings fall apart quite rapidly when abandoned. Once the heat is turned off in the winter the roof gets ruined and water does the rest.
Proud to call this one of my absolute favs..the Farrelly Bros. were a gift back in the 90's. 'Me, Myself & Irene' was another one that apparently fumbled in the theater but got it's audience eventually . Great vid guys! 🤘😎 Oh and you took the word right outta my mouth at 17:25 Wasn't expecting that 😂
Rochester pool hall was in the 3rd floor of the bowling alley, which was in the 2nd floor when Woody loses his hand. As a kid crossing the bridge I thought this building was abandoned until I was 15 going to shoot pool for the first time. Old stomping grounds. Elevator was a death trap. Lol.
I love this video I’ve been requesting this video for so long to a bunch of other channels and nobody’s done it and you guys did it first amazing one of my favorite movies of all time great job
Bowled at Beaver Valley Bowl many times as a youngster. Was really cool seeing it in the movie when I saw it for the first time. Had to climb a nice flight of stairs to get to the lanes
What I classic, I was 11 years old when this came out. I stayed at a friend's house we stand up late with his dad to watch this of video couldn't stop laughing!! Great Job👍.. memories!!!!
Thank you so much!!! Grew up in the summers in Pittsburgh 80s and 90s. And family business outside Freedom/Economy PA. Right where that Beaver Bowling alley was .
Back in 2009-2012 beaver valley bowl was the home lanes for Rochester high schools bowling team. I used to bowl again then there it was so cool since I loved the movie.
The building at the end was also used in the 2000 movie Wonder Boys starring Micheal Douglas, Toby McGuire, Robert Downey Jr and Katie Holmes. If you've never seen it look it up and watch it, it was filmed mostly in the immediate Pittsburgh area, that was about as far away from the city they got, it's a good movie, watch it sometime.
I was just watching Clerks, but I shut it off because I had to see this! Kingpin was just about perfect. The era when it came out was great too, so many good movies came out of that era, 1993-1996. Its nice to see the bowling alley is still there.
Rochester isnt anything compaired to aliquippa as far as dangerous is considered...love the pgh stuff though, love when you come back and throw those videos up
Fair Oaks Lanes and Lounge in Leet twp. Pa, about 20 minutes south of Beaver Valley Bowl was another great filming location, and you can still bowl there
You are doing what I have always wanted to do...I'm happy to see someone else is crazy about this movie..it make me fill gitty thing about how good my life was in 96...great times...
I was living in Evans City at the time Kingpin was filmed, I remember the road being closed for filming at the Mars bowling alley. I also remember encountering the crew when I was driving to work one day, going from Evans City to Mercer. They were filming a driving scene, maybe if I re-watch the movie it will remind me where it was. Maybe on Route 9? I also was living in Kittanning when "Mothman" was filmed, they were filming for a long time, it was months.
I love Kingpin. Its right there with the Big Lebowski for me. I'm loving these videos. The last one, with Pet Sematary was like a mini documentary. You 2 are the best ! 💛
I been having a HORRIBLE month and been dreading Xmas this year more than any other. Seeing this takes me back to the happy 90s when things were great and this film means soooo much to me.
Big Fan.....They also used many places here Economy Lanes...Baden Bowl. Also used a house (with lanes) that was owned by Jimmy Maggs a local lane owner. Also....where from the burgh are you from?.....didn't know you were a yinzer !!
The Beaver Valley Bowl was also used in the movie Wonder Boys and the Netflix series I Am Not Okay with This. Sadly, I doubt it will be standing for much longer as it has been closed for some time and the property has failed to sell recently. The farm used in Kingpin is on PA Route 288 in Fombell, PA, just across from the Fombell General Store (at the time of filming it was the post office). You can line up the shot where Ishmael rides his bicycle down the lane after meeting Roy with Google Street View. The bridge where Ishmael passes the "Roy 101" test after telling Roy he wants to walk to Reno is a section of PA Route 528 that spans Lake Arthur, just North of Prospect, PA. Also available on Street View.
What a small world. I first subbed after watching your Bonnie Clyde museum video and said wow does he look familiar. I feel like I knew you from somewhere now you say Pittsburgh. I now remember you from Youth group many many years ago and you lived near Megan K. In Crafton.
Amazing so many of the buildings featured in this film still look the same for the most part even down to the house number sign. It would be amazing to go inside the last location, I'd be extremely tempted! Great work guys!
I bowled for my high school's bowling team couple years ago and I got to bowl in Beaver Valley Bowl. And man even when it was active the place seemed abandoned. The only two ways to get to the lanes were go up stairs that looked like they were about to collapse under you, or take an elevator that hasn't been renovated since the 70's. Ultimately I chose the stairs. But I did have fun bowling that day. Awesome video btw, subscribed!
Few more locations in Mars: The scene when Big Ern and Roy are eating after the engine is blown, was at the restaurant right across the street from the 7 -eleven at the 9:09 Mark (now called Breakneck). That 7-eleven was shot in a short scene as they were looking for Ishmael right before they arrive at Uncle Willees reptile farm. Uncle WIlees was right down the road (Mars-Valencia) and is called Willies Tavern. Finally, the ice cream stand was on Mars Valencia road right here: 40°40'43.5"N 80°00'00.0"W.
Kingpin is still one of my favorite movies, no matter how many times I watch it, it never gets old.
I’ve been in Cali my entire life. The east coast looks intriguing. Thanks for all of your hard work. Super constant. Appreciate it all.
Cool video. Kingpin is not just a movie to me, but a way of life.
But did you go all-out and get yourself that combover?
Kingpin is in one of my top ten comedies of all time. So underrated, from top to bottom. Thanks for the journey!
I loved this movie when I was a kid. I saw it on Tv and since then I never seen it again. Great movie.

I drank in a few bowling alleys between Pittsburgh and Butler I'm not sure which ones that was in the late 70s
Underrated classic. - Hi Herbie, how's life? - Taking forever.

Wow I think you are the first to do Kingpin! I been waiting on this filming location for years!
Thank you so much!!! Grew up in the summers in Pittsburgh 80s and 90s. And family business outside Freedom/Economy PA. Right where that Beaver Bowling alley was .

Lovely bit of nostalgia, thanks for sharing. What a shame that last bowling alley has been left to rot. Sign of the times I guess…

Excellent job! I'd love to see some of the other filming locations for the film - it's one of my favs
I used to shoot pool at the Rochester bowling alley when I was young. It was up on the top floor. Used to live in Freedom Pa.
Sad that it's abandoned now. It was a great place to bowl and shoot pool.
