I made this last night -- it was fabulous! I make one of your recipes at least once a week - and all of them have been easy and delicious.
I love how you express your appreciation for what you are cooking. It’s so lovely to watch you truly enjoy what you are cooking. It certainly looks like a beautiful meal and I will make this for my family next week. Thank you 🙏🏽
Yummy! I love how you explain each step, great for beginners.❤️
This curry is amazing! Oh wow. One of the best recipes I ever cooked. Thanks, Chetna. I've made quite a few of your recipes and I loved them all.
Can not wait to try this! Another winner for me.. love a spicy one. Thank you Chetna xx All the very best to you and your family for Christmas and the New Year 🥰
Absolutely fabulous recipe! A new favorite, wow.
Just cooked 16 chicken thighs for this curry. My wife and I love it and the kids are coming over tomorrow with their other halves . So a good meal will be enjoyed by all.
This is such a quick and delicious curry! Ideal for work days! Thank so much, Chetna!
I like that you point out that although it’s not an authentic Indian dish it’s still a valid dish that’s worth making from scratch.
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery!
I always heard that Indian cooking was “too complicated” but Chetna makes it simple to follow.
Just stunning, definitely going to try this 💜
Can't wait to make this. Looks amazing as usual 🧡
Great recipe. Will definitely be trying. 👍🏼🙌🏽
I made this tonight and omg it's so delicious. I will certainly make this dish my regular curry dish. Thank you Chetna for sharing.
Brilliant, thank you.
Another great dish demonstrated in a very natural and inspirational way. Thank you once again M & M
Made this for dinner and it was so delicious. Thank you so much Chetna.
Can't wait to try this!
Your recipes are always amazing - thank you for sharing. You're the best. I also love the pans you use - where can I get one like the one you use in this recipe?
Tried this recipe today, simple to do, very satisfied, came out great, really tasty, many many thanks much appreciated
Thank you so much for a simple, straightforward to follow recipe which clearly achieves amazing results!
Beautiful and so so simple goin to do this love my Currys thank you
Absolutely brilliant as always, Chet.
Made this today, used boneless chicken thighs..was B.E.A.utiful...so easy following Chetna instructions than most other channels 👌👌
I make a chicken curry based on my mother's recipe (which she picked up from the Indian community in West Africa) but I shall give your recipe a try (looks better!) and brilliantly explained.
Great, thank you so much for this
Definitely going to try this
This looks SOOO delicious! What pans do you use?
Tried this receipe with my daughter last week😀was fantastic👌👏👏thank you for the receipe🙏🥰🧿🧿
Looks absolutely delicious. Defo going to make this. Chetna, have you tried the pink Himalayan salt? I use it all the time now, its fab and don't need to use as much! One more question lol. Do you have a recipe for Chicken Jalfrazi? Thank you 😊
Can you tell me about that pan? I love it!
Made this last night. Beautiful result. Bonus: pull the skin off the chicken thighs, season them a bit, lay onto a sheet pan, and roast until crisp. The best!
Yum
It looks amazing,
Just watched looks great 👍
This looks delicious, great video. 👍🏼
Looks delicious! Will have to add this to the meal list this week!
Hope you enjoy
Can't thank you enough, I've been wanting to know how to make this. I can now make my favorite meal from my favorite restaurant. It is soooo good! Thank you so much!!!
So happy it worked
Another winner. Thank you.
Looks great, and I'll be trying it this coming week. Have you ever had spicy Indian sausages? I used to buy them from Indian butchers but cannot find them anywhere these days. You wouldn't happen to have the recipe would you...? 😋
Just made this for dinner. So good! Will definitely do it again.
Wonderful!
We made your delicious recipe tonight. It is the perfect recipe for a colder winter night. The flavors are magical, and go so well together. The chicken is so tender, and just so good. Thank you so much Chetna for a very delicious dinner.
I started making Indian recipes during 2020…and am having so much fun! I am in Tx and the weather being so hot, it is also the perfect recipe for summer…
Beautiful, especially now the weather’s sooo cold! One of my absolute favourites! 😋😋😋
enjoy
So glad I tried this yesterday. Flavour was amazing
Great to hear!
I tried this and it was delicious, for me it was more like a home made Indian one and brings back memories of my many trips to India, particularly the restaurants between Delhi and Ludhiana. Great work Chetna, I will also try your Hyderabadi one.
This looks absolutely delicious.....I believe I'm going to give this a try....BUT....I think instead of searing the chicken in a frying pan, I may sear it on a BBQ and put some wood chips on the grill before I put the chicken on and give it a bit of smoke too.....I will also make a batch as shown in the video and compare.....should be interesting.
Been doing this BIR style, but definitely gonna try this method. Looks amazing!
Thanks
We loved this, BRILLIANT.
Yessss
Absolutely delicious! I've made this about five times already but I had to give you Kudos. Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago.
So glad you enjoyed it
I do enjoy your recipes and have learnt a lot.
Can you do an Urad daal dish some time?
That looks so good I can’t wait to make it ♥️with veggies 🌽 🌶 🍅 🥔 🍛
Hope you enjoy
Make this all the time now mainly because all ingredients are easily available, and it's really delicious. I add more water as we prefer a bit more sauce.
We have just had a lesson from the Madras professor, good video presentation thank you. Steve
I added kasuri methi at the end of cooking , amazing.
As a general question, is there are reason not to put some vegetables in the curry? Any suggestions of what would go best? Capsicum comes to mind but not sure what else would go with it.
I think I’m going to try this
Hope you will enjoy it
Amazing
Olá
Pode ensinar uma receita com arroz basmati?? Gracias!
GORGEOUS
I can smell that! 😃 gorgeous. Love the way you explain everything X
Thanks so much 😊
I always cook with bones, it makes a difference indeed.
Question on anther one of your curry’s …… is fenugreek (fresh) a seasonal produce as im having difficulties locating it even from my Asian specialists ? You say you can use spinach,,,could you add ground fenugreek to it
Thank you Wayne
It’s in the pot can’t wait to try it!!
yeah
I really enjoyed watching your cooking, could you tell me where did you buy you pan and lid and what's called. Thank you ❤️
From haufson website
That looks YUM
Hi Chetna, wishing you a very happy birthday. Please share more recipes for Christmas.
Love the way you cook. I just subbed.
Thanks and welcome to the channel
Looking so good Frist time over here
Please, what is the brand name of the pan you cooked this in?
Wow, Lovely recipe. Greetings from Scotland ♥️ Have a wonderful day everyone 😍
you probably dont give a damn but does any of you know a trick to log back into an Instagram account??

@Armani Kenneth It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass!
@Henrik Arlo you are welcome :D
Yum. This is what I am fixing for supper.
Enjoy
I cook Indian food so often, the only one of these spices I don‘t have at home is the Madras Curry Powder! 😆
Thats just a spice mix which gives it that flavour
4:10 Like being in a Rhiannon 'Umbrella' video but with grease and tasty, tasty chicken. You must have asbestos hands. 🤣 Final product looks *amazing* !
Yes I think I do!
Looks lovely, don’t think I will bother sealing chicken though as that oil spitting everywhere would annoy the hell outta me having to clean it up 😂
I’m making this tonight!
hope you enjoyed it
Great looking food
Thank you 😋
I would make this today, but since I lost the smell due to covid, it'll have to wait :C
What kind of pan is that?
How do I make your curry for 8 people. Its very nice 👍
Can u do segment on all the different chilli powders and paprikas - it’s a lot !!!
Question, does it sacrifice any flavor if I were to make this with the chicken skins on. Nine times out of 10 I take the skins off. But every so often I like to leave it on because it feels like a waste, and sometimes in certain recipes it can be an added treat. And for those of us who make curry’s the day before do you have any preferred method for reheating and how long? I ask because I am absolutely reluctant to use a microwave for this specific purpose.
I really dont like the greasiness from the chicken skin so it is personal choice completely
Lush !! cracked it again Chetna ...
Thanks David
Best curry ever. I make it at least 2 times a week for my family 👍
I Don t use tomato puree. Can I substitute with fresh ripe tomatoes?
omg that oil spaltter in the kitchen. i could NOT, looks very tasty though
Please say that those amazing juices left on the pan after frying the chicken didn't go to waste
Cant remember now, was long ago!
Do you salt and pepper your thigh before frying?
Yes, I also hate to clean that spitting grease off my stove after pan-frying. But that's the only way to get a nice colour on meat or fish
Exactly
Nice 😍
Thanks
It does look delicious though in Madras (Chenai) they would not use cinnamon or cardamom, more commonly used in the north.
Gorgeous. But curry powder? Blasphemy! :D
Chetna could you please cook a fish curry. Proper fish please.🐟 🙏
It's a British Indian curry in every sense of the term.
So. You cooked it. Put it in a lovely bowl. Then added it to another lovely bowl to eat! You must love washing dishes 🤣. But the food looks gorgeous. Subscribed.
I have a Patak Madras curry jar in the fridge at all time, lol. Speaking of Patak's, what are your 3 favourite Patak pickles in ranked order. And can you re-create at least 1 or 2 pickles on your channel?
Same here, I'm too lazy to put together 15 ingredients. Patak sauces are delicious and my absolute favorites for when I am in a hurry. Last week my daughter showed up when I was about ready to eat, I just added a few ingredients and Korma sauce and had a delicious meal for two. Hate pickles but I have 4 different Patak sauces.
@@carmenortiz5294 Pataks sauces are delicious, and I use them most of the time.
But the best commercial sauces I've ever tasted are by the Curry Sauce Company, who used to exhibit on the county show circuit.
Absolutely stunning. But VERY expensive.
www.currysauce.com/
@@carmenortiz5294 I can definitely recommend Brinjal/Eggplant pickle as a starter. It's a dish improver so just add a little. Will even improve boring super noodles. It's amazing. I cannot eat instant noodles without adding a pickle now.
Then if you like it, migrate to Mango, then Lime and finally chillies. I think Jamie Oliver likes their mango pickle.
You can also make Indian-style pickles at home but the youtube recipes from India are very hit and miss. We need a British cook to sort this pickle mess out.
@@Natasha26 Nice suggestion, if I actually liked pickles, but I don't. The closest to pickles that I get is kimchi that I make myself. I'm fine with Patak, actually decided to open a jar of their tikka masala sauce after you mentioned Patak.
@@paulwomack5866 I live in the US and have never seen that brand, plus Patak sauces tastes a lot like my favorite Indian restaurant's, which of course is now closed for who knows how long.
Stunning dish cooked by an even more stunning woman!
Thank you.
One thing i hate fryings things, it makes a lot mess, oil all over the stove to clean
Is it tomato paste or purée?
Puree
Tomorrow nights dinner BUT raw chicken on a wood cutting board?
Was just delicious, I'd have floured my chicken thighs before searing them though.
sounds good
What is the difference between restaurant style & home style? I see that title often.
I never buy chicken on the bone.
I just can't. So I'm going to assume that I'm not sealing the boneless, skinless chicken breast. Now I just need to find the Madras curry powder. 😁
Brown the chicken. Remove to a plate.
Heat oil. Add cinnamon, cardamom and cumin seeds.
When sizzling add onion and cook on medium heat till dark golden.
Add ginger and garlic. Cook till rawness gone.
Add tomato paste and cook a minute or so.
Add spices. Cook a few seconds.
Add water. Mix to make a sauce. When ready add chicken and stir to coat.
Cook on low to medium heat till chicken is cooked through.
