Oh my goodness! My old stomping ground. Must have done this walk countless times in my youth, and as a younger man. I can't wait to watch this.

what a great walk I have many memories of the area we used to go there on holiday when my children were young . Since those days I lost my youngest son (Luke) at 19 years old in a drowning accident in Thailand his big gap year adventure . He loved the walk from Worth Matravers down past the bat caves to the rocks which now appears to be closed . Your walk took me back to wonderful memories of those days thank you very very much .
I stayed in Swanage last summer & on my last day, did the coast path to Worth Matravers & back again,...stopping to 'refuel' @ Square & Compass.
Went in 'blind' so the Globe, Dancing Ledge & Winspit quarry were all new discoveries for me along the way. Truly magical.
The thing I loved the most in the video is your smile:)

Your video diary brings back happy memories of the far-off days when I was running the University of Bath Walking Club and I dragged twenty-or-so colleagues from the bar of the Greyhound Inn at Corfe Castle via the bar of the Square and Compass Inn at Worth Matravers to the bar of the Ship Inn at Swanage!
I must say your love and appreciation of nature is so inspiring ! Keep up what you do best.

Back in the 80's, had a few jars in Durlston Castle. The whole of the Purbecks was a smuggler's haven during Georgian times. The "whim" was also used to lift barrels of brandy and other contraband onshore. A couple of naval battles between smugglers and the Revenue cutters took place off the Purbecks.

This is a really great walk thank you so much. My ancestors quarried stone at Dancing Ledge and lived at Corfe Castle so this was most interesting for me.

Hi Abbie, I have done this walk from Bournemouth alone the coast to chapmans pool inland to corfe, then along the purbeck ridge down onto studland ferry across to sandbanks. A two day hike with a wild camp. Thanks for the video brings back good memories. Jon x

I walk in the area regularly as I live nearby, I sometimes get the early boat from Poole quay over to Swanage as its the best way to see Old Harry's Rocks, get a taxi ( time is limited because of the boats ) to drop me off in Worth Matravers, have a pint and a home made pasty in the Square and Compass and then take a leisurely walk down to Winspit and back into Swanage via the bar and terrace at Durlston Castle where the views across to the Isle of Wight are stunning, all hopefully in time for the last boat back. Though should I miss it the view from the open topped double decker bus is a bit special to.
Well done Abbie Barnes, another superb video full of info and wonderfully filmed views, and kudos to you for continuing to raise public awareness of mental health issues, it helps to change public perception and dispel the irrational fear of what should not be a taboo subject in our society.

Great part of the coast there, many of my favourite climbing haunts along that stretch of the Jurassic coast. So many weekends spent walking and 'hanging around' those cliffs and quarries.

Hi Abbie another Beautiful walk I too suffer from depression but walking and watching your vids cheers me up I’ve done some walks around there I love Dorset last time down there 2014 had a walk around durlston country park and past anvil point lighthouse then a walk around old Harry rocks but way back in 2000 had a walk from Worth Matravers (parking in same car park as you ) that was a bit of the Priests way down to dancing ledge along the coast around st Aldhems Head and Chapmans pool wow that brought back Happy memories and those steep steps down then up any way atb Abbie I’ll look forward to your next adventure Glenn

Beautiful created with a lovely wonderful personality ,so good had myself glued right to the end. After watching this think im going to give this a go myself and make a short video ,want to get to the dancing ledge for a swim,all depends on the weather as i have been told it can be very dangerous at times.Its about 1.5hr drive for myself ,not that far away and cant believe all the times i have been down that way was not aware of the dancing ledgeexplore

Hi Abbie, just completed this walk and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the sites you highlighted on your footage. I took a wrong turn coming up from Chapmans Pool and added an extra mile or two to the walk which were unfortunate after those steps!!

One of the best circular walks anywhere! A great film Abbie. There is something for everybody on this magnificent walk. Your expertise and knowledge made the film even more interesting. 23:05. Not an old radio mast, but one of four pylons in two pairs. They are exactly one nautical mile apart, and therein lies the clue to their identity. E
When the Royal Navy in the past used to commission a new warship, part of it's trials involved sailing at top speed off this piece of coastland. The time it took to pass between the two pairs of markers would indicate it's top speed in nautical miles per hour (knots).
Astonishingly, the number of stone circles that exists in the UK. I love the mists and cool weather this time of year. Nice walk and professional video as normal. Keep up the good work!

Love that area - paddled that stretch in a sea kayak from Swanage to Weymouth many times with a camps at the fishermans huts at Chapmans and on the beach at Worbarrow Bay . The walk up/down Emmetts Hill is a killer for sure - and a pasty and pint of cider at the Square and Compass is very rewarding.

The walk is even more awesome if you do it anti clockwise ie the other direction. The Square and Compass used to have a goat that got on the bus to Swanage!

(Ive got my outdoor first aid and whilst the video isn't meant to be a 'course' or teaching, I want to use it to get some advice in, even if it is just to do a course!!
Thank you Abbie. Volunteering with St. John is something I took up upon retirement and has been an amazing experience. I have been privileged to help people in car roll overs, burns, broken bones, heart attacks.......you name it.....I’ve pretty much done it. The teaching follows on naturally from those experiences and I believe has helped me teach a more complete course.
Here in Canada we have something called the sports kit which I like.......but it is big for a backpacker! It would include sterile gauzes, triangulars, varieties of plasters, a space blanket, tweezers, medical tape etc.
The single most important thing to take with you though is knowledge. Take a course.
I’m sure I’ve left something important out.........it’s 5:43 am here and I need my coffee. I’m sure your followers can add many items to the kit from personal experience.

8:25. You could have followed the Priests Way all the way into Swanage. The latter parts have been overlaid with roads, but it runs to St Mary's church.
Lucky you took the lower walk from the lighthouse. My boyfriend and I didn't know better and took one that was all the way up the hill and it was super difficult😂
There's a hiking trail in Hongkong called The Twins and you have to climb and descend more than a thousand steps to access it.
Great vlog as always, although the camera didn't seem to do justice to that final climb, which is an ascent of about 65m over around 180m. I walked from Worth to Chapmans Pool to St Aldhems head and back to Worth the day after you shot the vlog. Now I know why I couldn't find any ripe blackberries when I needed them on the ascent!

Ha, brilliant! No, not at all actually. It depends on where you are, what time of day/season you are walking, how far you walk etc. Usually you can fine a solitary wild space easily enough :)

So how many steps down/up? I reckoned around 200 in each direction, but my head was spinning so lost count a couple of times 🤣👍
" I'm notorious for getting lost in urban areas" . You and me, both. What's that all about?!? Can navigate Dartmoor, Snowdonia, Lake District etc in fog or night but finding my way from the train station to the start of the trail - er, help needed pls.
I've never hears the Square & Compass described as notorious before, " famous ", yes. Please don't apply words with negative connotations to this excellent pub !
