Supposedly Polyphony Digital got the exclusive rights to Pikes Peak... So yeah, that's a thing now in racing games, not just for cars anymore.
so if they call it piles peak and change the surrounding sceneray can they use it?

I thought they'd understand that exclusivity sucks. We've not had Porsche's in GT and other games for ages because of EA and now PD does this.
@@L3ON360Z honestly if they get Pikes in GTS or GT#, I'll probably be completely done with Forza since they are entirely resistant to having p2p tracks or even letting us set up p2p time trials in Horizon. I was hoping Forza would get their shit together, but if GT gets it at least I can save money on a game.

A note regarding Pikes Peak: Polyphony now own the rights to the course which explains it's non-appearance in Dirt Rally 2. I only found this out after uploading the video.
Also, there will be 3 new locations added during season 1 of the DLC and more WRX courses in season 2. So the track and car list will be getting bigger.

Super GT Polyphony has pikes peak rights and yet they have no use for it lol
Shodan Cat Game Riot made a video in the career mode, it doesn’t show every detail but gets you a feel of what it’s like
@@awesomeautomotives1567 Thanks, I checked it out a few minutes ago. Looks like an extremely basic mode that's almost exactly the same as Dirt Rally. The only real difference I can see is that car upgrades are broke down into smaller parts like Dirt 4, but the concept is exactly the same.

When i see someone reviewing a SIM game and playing it in 3rd person and not memeing = this reviews means nothing to me and to the hardcore community...
@@bangyino That's a fair point, but in my view at least, Super GT is mostly about enjoying racing games, rather than hardcore, or "professional" sim racing.

im really glad to see that too. it is quite a niche and very focused channel - racing games. however to balance it out, we have a very talented commentator and a decent player. i personally enjoyed the memefest of forza motorsport during the original collision model era, but i like that it is also trying to appeal to the real simulation driver now. i just hope the memes arent forgotten, forza horizon 4 just doesnt cut it. silly driving doesnt count as silly driving when the whole game is silly you know?

Codmaster in the first 3 months will release dirt1 monte , Sweden and Germany. They are just lazy as fuck, they could make a rally of Provence for example with snow and tarmac but they are bum

I started building my videogame driving skill with dirt rally 2.0. I learned alot from that game like throttle management and drifting without steering assist. So when I moved to Assetto Corsa, my muscle memory from dirt rally 2.0 became a godsend and it helped me develop my skill in assetto too.
I like how the light actually reflects off the gravel dust, that’s a nice touch...although it’s a bit too vibrant

Monte Carlo comes in March and Sweden in April, Germany in May. Between those rallies we also get new cars to drive. That's the first DLC-season of the two Codemasters have announced. The second season probably will give us more cars and rallies like Finland, Wales and Greece. Codemasters have announced the two seasons will bring us cars and remade stages from the first Dirt Rally.
All of the above can be purchased in advance for cheap if you get the Deluxe-edition of the game which will be released at February 22nd. The Deluxe is aprox. 20 euros/dollars more expensive than the regular version.
Season 2 is rallycross tracks unfortunately...and the deluxe costs 56 euros with instant gaming, why buy with steam ?
I hope they add Wales. That was my favorite from DR2.
And season 2 has no confirmed content. But stages are confirmed. Not RX tracks.
Never played DR1. Just got the deluxe. Was wondering what people thought of it. Is it worth it or get a refund?

Playing dirt 4 on a wheel is the most fun I’ve ever had in a racing game, it’s so rewarding when you get good at it

Thanks a lot for the review m8, well done and you covered a lot, I was hoping for Pikes Peak as well, a shame it's not in there, I was even hoping there would be more Hill Climb locations, it's a brilliant competition, lot's of varieties in car classes and track conditions, never the same corners and challenging long sectors, I loved it to bits in Dirt Rally 1.

Hey Super GT. There's a lot of artifacting in this video, especially in the stages with lots of trees in them. This is mainly caused by youtube's low bitrate for 1080p videos. One workaround is to upscale your video to 1440p or 4k before uploading it, so we got higher bitrate videos available for viewing. Something to consider, maybe?

Nice video. Disappointed in the lack of snow stages, and I wished you would talk about the tarmac stages, other people say that they are really arcade-ish
The last rally game I liked a little bit was Collin McRae Rally back on the original xbox. I did get Dirt 3 in a steam sale a few months back for 99p and I've tried to like it but I've realised that I prefer circuit racing.
PCARS 2 and the GT3, LMP cars are my goto choice for racing thrills along with ACC.
Hypeee! This game looks really good to watch on UA-cam because I sure as hell won't play a game that difficult for too long lol. I wish you'd make more FH4 content though. Even just tarmac races 1-2 times a month.

WRX typically had them streamed live on UA-cam last season. At least in Canada they did, I assumed same in US..
@@Marc-sh2qh Not available in the USA. We had to pay for a subscription to an obscure racing site (that didn't even feature WRX???!!!) to have access to live streams.

I recently got dirt 4 then upgraded to dirt rally so these games have my interest at the moment. Regardless, whatever you do I will support you.

Seeing as youve converted to wheel now id appreciate your thoughts. I've been playing dirt rally on a controller and trying to tame rwd vehicles is an uphill battle.

your video capture quality isn't as crisp as it used to be. everything else is on point!
For me in first dirt was not the fact it was hard to stay on the road. I managed for most of the track, but the problem was that your rivals was very very fast. So either you try go faster than you can handle (most players) or go slower but with no chance to finish first.

Eager to get this next week. I hope the thrill of the tracks and learning the cars don't go flat for me. Wish it had VR, but I won't penalize Codemasters for that, with all the fun and time I put into Dirt Rally, especially after playing it on PSVR. This is looking really good so far. Thanks for the video! I wish all the previews would have had more interesting tracks.
Happy that there is no snow in DR2. Wont miss Pikes Peak either. Mt. Washington, NH should've replaced Pikes Peak.👍. I get annoyed when I run off coarse and get reset so soon.I really enjoy watching my car roll 1500 feet down a mountain side while pieces are flying off it.
I can see them adding more tracks and cars as time passes.

From what I read, first Dirt rally had VR support and 2 players mode so other player could be codriver.

hello super gt, great vid. any idea if there is the 'random stage' feature that was in dirt 4? i always thought that would be cool to have in dirt rally, since after long eough playing you memorize the stages which makes it a little less fun imo.
was hoping you would get an early review for this. you really need to try cockpit or dash cam, completely changes the game. You can really judge corners and control slides much better. Thanks for the video!

It ain't a proper rally game without a MK1 cooper s :) so glad it's there.
Watching the "making of" and dev videos i cannot wait to get my hands on dirtR2. Being consistently in the top 100 in dirtR1 on the ps4 i have good hopes to master all the new tracks. Are there any news regarding hillclimb? i mean there is probably not going to be pikes peak (as Super GT said in his pinned comment) but there is hope.

Nice video mate, really considering buying the game. It’s a shame Polyphony owns the rights to Pikes Peak, yet it’s not on GT Sport yet.
My biggest gripe with Rally 1.0 was not the game mechanics, physics, etc. It was the lack of... Content. Just an extreme lack of content, in both cars, car types and especially tracks.
The "random track generator" or whatever that was also kept reusing the same corners over and over again so after a few hours you start recognizing corners and you know exactly how to take them.
This one does look a lot better. But I will wait out some more reviews before picking it up or not.

I have two questions:
1. How do you rate the change in co-drivers from Nicky Grist to Phil Mills? I always felt very comfortable with Grist, but I think Mills might provide a nice change. And I‘m quite familiar with him from many hours of studying Petter Solberg‘s onboards from the Subaru days!
2. Depending on how much time you spent with the WRX cars, is there any noticeable performance gap (as in actual WRX last year), or are the cars on a broadly similar level?

Is it ok to ask for rally in like a city stage for a custom track or being able to change weather for a track in one stage, like u start the stage and its sunny and ur on dry tarmac and later in the track it is snowing?

Waiting for VR implementation. It looks pretty good but if I get it now it will just gather dust until I can play in VR. I was tempted to buy as I think getting the pre-order should give you access to the DLC that is being released in summer (when VR is supposedly being implemented), but VR isn't listed as a feature on the DLC and if that feature follows the same format as the other post-release content then I'm betting they are going to make VR a payed add-on separate from the scheduled DLC.
I know that they're just trying to make money but this is a really expensive game...I just can't justify buying it now.
