I didn't hate Lindsey, I mean none of it was her fault, but she knew herself she wasn't the real deal. His heart was always with Peyton, just pissed that he had to stage his love for Lindsey for so long when we all know he really didn't love her the way he loved Peyton.

I can't believe people (women) hated Lindsay, and not Lucas for dragging her along like this even if he loved someone else more than her. He was the slut of the show, not Brooke or Peyton. Lindsay did the right thing to dump him when she realized what was going on around her. I always liked her.
RiRi I might go a little too deep on that one but I think the fact that the character (Lindsay) edited the novel about Peyton, fell in love with the author aka Luke and tried to have a relationship with him even though he couldn’t write before seeing Peyton again is the reason why we dislike her.... She knew or should have known that she was putting herself between “soulmates”. Brooke had no idea and was a teenager at the time. Lindsay as a grown woman should have known better.... I just wish we could have a second realization from her that she was looking to be loved like Luke loved Peyton maybe because of the lost love of her father or something. She stayed in “victim” mode like with a you love her more. When she says in this scene that you need more than love to make a marriage I wish she had gone a little deeper. More like Brooke and Lukas talk in S4....

Lucas got his heart broken by Peyton and he had a hard time going back to her b/c he got burned before. As Nathan said back in season 3 “its not so easy getting back in the rink, especially with the one who knocked you out in the first place”. Also, Lucas invited Peyton to LA book signing but Peyton left before talking to him. And as for Lindsey she even stated “I was rooting for the couple in the book”. But it wasn’t until she figured out Peyton’s car was the comet, that Lucas was in love with Peyton. In reality I think both Lucas and Lindsey were at fault for the engagement railing. Lindsey should have walked away listened to the voice in her head that was telling her to get out. And Lucas was being dishonest with everyone including herself.

She dyed her hair Peyton blonde and then shouted I want you to stop being in love with her right in his face. So it never made sense for her to say yes to his proposal to begin with. I never hated her. I respected her for not going through with the wedding. But I also felt like a woman who truly knew her fiancé was in love with someone else should never have let it get that far. That being said, I didn’t blame her for this situation nearly as much as I did Lucas. He knew he wasn’t over Peyton. The first kiss was on her (and I wasn’t thrilled about her kissing him while he technically still had a girlfriend, though their fight that night did seem kind of like a breakup or that one was definitely coming) but Lucas opened his eyes, looked right at Peyton and then pulled her back in. He knew exactly what he was doing and who with. So he is the one I hold most responsible for this mess. He let his insecurity get the better of him. He ended the relationship with Peyton when she wasn’t ready to get married at 19. He proposed to Lindsey right after kissing Peyton and he knew in that moment he still loved her. He drug both women’s hearts through the mud because he was too afraid to admit he was wrong and own his true feelings. But I also have to remind myself he was only 22 at that time in the story and 22 year old boys make dumb decisions sometimes. So do 22 year old girls.

And that line you used for Nathan had nothing to do with leyton .. Brooke and Nathan were the ones testing Lucas and Haley on their respective relationships. Lucas was all about being with Brooke for 2 1/2 seasons
I think he would of moved on with her yes he loved Peyton that was his first of course he will always have a special place in his heart for her. But he would of moved on with Lindsey she decided to end it not him. He wanted to marry her she walked out not him. He would of moved on.
I respectfully disagree. Perhaps if Peyton hadn’t come back and they’d stayed in two different places their whole lives. But once she came back and Lucas saw her the writing was on the wall. I guarantee if Lindsey had said I’ll come back if you cut Peyton out of our lives, he would have refused. Because when it came down to it, no matter how hard they both tried, Peyton and Lucas could never be just friends, and Lucas was never going to be able to make a relationship work long term with someone else as long as they were part of each other’s lives. He loved Brooke. He loved Lindsey, but in little ways he was always choosing Peyton and marriage certificate wouldn’t have changed that. Lindsey knew it and that’s why she walked away.

Luke never made a move on Pey the second time he was with Brooke! ( What happened in the library during the shooting episode was never "something" for Luke!) His true love is Peyton, but I think he can move on with an another person! Unlike Peyton, who is really unable to function without him! (I kinda understand... he is the only guy that was always there for her) Of course we are talking about fictional characters, so everyone can have a different point of view!

Both Brooke and Lindsey dumped Lucas I don’t think Lucas would’ve ended either relationship if not for the girls ending it for him.
