Well, my boychicks, did the traffic drive you MESHUGGAH this weekend? I tell you, the schlepp to get anywhere was worse than spending three hours with Uncle Monty-oy, don't even ask! But forget about the traffic and Uncle Monty driving me nuts, because while all this was going on, MRS. SALTY was busy selling her Salt Beef and her Pastrami and whipping up potato lakas.
And OMG, what a latkes! These little bits of grated potato with onion, salt, pepper, and a few secret touches cooked up to be OMG, OMG, OMG!!! Just like heaven had arrived!
Now, I cannot explain to you the smell, the taste of the crispy exterior, and the tender inside of these grated potatoes with all the seasonings, but trust me, words do no justice! So, don’t just take my word for it-pop down to see MRS. SALTY on Wednesday when we reopen and get a taste of latkes yourself.
And while you're there, why not pick up some fresh, hot Beigels straight out of the oven? Or, if you prefer, grab some frozen ones to go straight into your freezer. Trust me, it's a trip worth making, even if Uncle Monty is driving!
