We shouldn’t be buying anything. Need to all stick together and stop paying over msrp. Companies are seeing record profits, its completely killed this hobby for me.
I agree, but I think the days of high profits are already over for them. We should also not vote Dem this time around, as Bidenomics is the largest factor for price increases for EVERYTHING

This car was designed for a husband to silently escape from their sleeping wife. Stealth mode range = 3-4 miles. 🤣

I want an analog car, sick of all this computer crap jacking prices way too high.
I’m in the target demographic for this car. Old guy nearing retirement who wants to own an interesting gentleman’s GT car before they lock me up in a concentration camp (nursing home). I don’t know all that much about cars, but raced motorcycles into my mid 60s and rode a liter bike on the street to my late 60s. So I know that any poser GT cars would not make me happy. That they kept the exterior subtle (for a C8) is a strong point for me. I also like the AWD functionality since I live in the northeast and don’t want to put the car in hibernation for ~4 months a year when I don’t have that many years left. I won’t pay what Porsche asks for a comparably equipped AWD 911. I also won’t pay over MSRP for any car. If I can’t get an E-Ray then maybe an Audi RS3, but that might be even harder to get at MSRP.

Morgan & Morgan skipped my case because there wasn't any money to be made. They agreed I have a case, but they can't help. It is my opinion they are no better than any other law firm! It's not about right and wrong, it's about money!

I'm jealous, I have been contemplating selling or trading in my 2022 Stingray Convertible to order an ERay. We'll see I guess, But it likely will not be this year, maybe towards this time next year I will pull the trigger on it. Have fun with the new toy when it comes in.

Impressive review with amazing tech! For me, I would only LEASE the eRay. The pure gasoline versions would make a better long term PURCHASE. IMHO.
Does it qualify for the HOV lane since it’s a hybrid? I’d think so.
I think it’s worth the sticker price for certain people. I’d happily own one given the right circumstances. But anything over $50K is too much for me.
In this economy, I'm surprised that car cost less than a quarter mil.

Can you try a v6 rav 4 on the slip test? Theyre only about 5 grand now 3500 pounds 270 horsepower awd with a 4 wheel drive button. I love mine and you cant even feel the snow under nieth you
Making the Eray subtle is the point. This is for Coevette buyers.... making it any more different than the Mid Engine C8 is now that's going to be silly.

It takes time to match RPM and then will fully Engauge.

Chevrolet will let its owners add all the individual E-Ray flair. It’s perfect as it is - a true 650HP AWD stealth fighter!

Best handling car so far on the game. It pulls and pushes at the same time on the Apex and maintains balance and stability by forward propulsion, must be the front motor system.
More fun hybrids like the 918 and NSX. I'd take any of the three.

bro, you're in colorado. The motor is being hit with a mile of elevation so only 160hp is not. Jason at Hagerty youtube (im sure you seen the vids) ran the Eray z06 and huracan. Easy 2.5 and 10.5's.
Dude, he literally said that in the video. He noted that the electric motor *helps* with that, but that it's still a big loss at that altitude.

I dunno you gonna see these at classic car shows in the future? Not sure this technology is meant for the long term like older cars are. Ev type things seem so wasteful to me since they seem disposable by design in addition to expensive and full of electronics.
Where is the timed run to answer the question, "Can The Chevy Corvette E-Ray Really Get To 60 MPH in 2.5 Seconds?" Because it's not in this video.
Supposedly the regular corvettes are below 65 thousand. I haven't seen any new or used below 75 thousand. The dealerships had them new for 100 thousand plus. This thing is probably over 120 thousand easey. You have to be rich for anything new these days. Only the rich get to enjoy these things.
It's all great and everything..BUT, I , personally, don't see the 30k price difference value over the base Stingray...If ya got it might as well get it..

Word has it that the ZR one is going to have the truck motor with twin turbos. So let’s hope that the Zora has the exotic LT six with electrification in the front. I would never call the pushrod small block a truck motor had you not invented the giant Ferrari motor that you put in the Z06. Now the pushrod motor is a truck motor. Not looking forward to the all electrified version what are you going to call it now that you call the hybrid E-Ray ? F! All electric! ICE ICE baby! Internal combustion is essential for the corvette experience!

As an automotive engineer, this is laughable complexity. Good luck to anybody foolish enough to own one of these out of warranty, you will dearly pay for not being more informed.
They make this illegal for autocross. Straight to SSP.
I like it a lot, but it seems like a lot of complexity and cost for not a huge advantage or difference over the regular stingray.
It's MUCH faster than the standard stingray and it has a lot more features & benefits including AWD, ceramic brakes, stealth mode, etc and also has the full widebody which looks awesome. It's a very significant step up from the standard stingray.
$100K+ is just too much. Out of reach for 95% or more of buyers.
It wasn’t made for the average Joe
The $50k-$60k Stingray is already out of reach for a lot of people. High performance sports cars are something you buy when you have money on top of being comfortable. What you get just depends on how much you have on top, as well as your personal taste, of course.
I'm just glad this is $100k instead of $250k or more like what you see with Porsche, Lamborghini, etc.

@@bartwaggoner2000 Not arguing as the Miata is an excellent value, but I would not really put the two cars in the same category. Even though they are both sports cars the Miata, BRZ, and 88 are more value based sports cars. Then you get into the mid tier sports cars like the Supra, Nissan Z, BMW's... Then of course you have the Corvette, the Porsches, and maybe some of the Aston Martins etc. I guess it depends what exactly you are looking for from the car. The Miata is an excellent value, but people shopping Corvettes and Porsches are not looking at that level of sports car either.

If Chevy had made the Eray a mechanical awd and put the electric motor in the place of the transmission, it would have been a riot . And it should have had the 5.5 flat plane crank instead of the lackluster 6.2 . Chevy doesn't get it . Go all out instead of being modest all the time . Ramp up the quality control and innovation 💡

This is a rich guys car. Too complex for enthusiast mods.
I purchased the Z06 for $240K. 5000 miles so far and the engine seized, brakes failed, had misfires and now the transmission is having problems. Its been in the shop for 12 weeks total and is still in the shop currently. I now have a lemon law attorney and will never buy a chevy again. I would avoid the eray if I were you.
Yeah I'm a tow truck driver and out of brand new cars the ones I tow the most have been Chevy's. Which is disappointing because Chevy has a lot of innovative ideas that might be interesting to see in action. Unfortunately their vehicles can't stay running enough to see them in action. Chevy's build quality has gone down drastically.

Chevrolet will allow you to make it a more dramatic design with graphics and all kinds of things you are driving a press car probably not even a production car. I'm surprised you didn't know that and I'm surprised that you of all people don't understand it. I believe they're trying to have a clean look for this press car and people can use their imagination on what they can do with the design to make it scream and stand out
If they had stuff like that at this stage, don't you think one of the several press cars GM brought out would have them, like they did for the blue stripes?

You want Chevrolet to make the e-ray special but the problem is you're asking for them to make it a full electric nerd mobile. I would never buy a quiet one speed nerd mobile . I want to hear the engine scream and I want to build a shift the gears. An electric nerd mobile is for tree-hugging liberals. They will lose my business if they do that. I will not buy a Tesla I hate those electric tree-hugging nerd mobiles.
There is no reason for this car to exist. All that r & d to get a few miles of range in eve mode.
You completely miss the point of the car then. The electric motor is not meant to operate on it's own most of the time. It works as an assist to the gasoline engine. This makes it grip harder out of turns, launch harder from a dig, etc. There is plenty of reason for this car to exist and they nailed it. This was not built to be more economical, it was built to be higher performance while retaining the gasoline engine.
Also more stuff to go bad . They could have done a 4 wheel drive.
3.48 0-60 mph is not good at all. I do 3.1 over and over again in my Model 3 Performance and that is without subtracting rollout.
As they said *in the video,* ICEs take a big hit in power at altitude. The E-Ray is a primarily ICE-driven car. The electric motor helps, but it takes a serious hit when you're a mile in the air.
Granted, full EVs don't have that problem, but go back to sea level and the E-Ray would walk your Model 3. Not a dig, just a fact.

Hybrid: a car with a gasoline engine and an electric motor, each of which can propel it.

If considering this as a hybrid is difficult for your brain, try thinking of the infiniti Q50. They had a hybrid model that used the ev motor for mainly performance with the electric benefits being an extra bonus. 360hp and drivable on ev mode up to 50-60mph.
