I found out more about the GX35 engine from that video than I have from watching many others.
When an engine that looks like it was thrown into a pond, everything rusted, etc.. and it can be restored into fully working condition.. Honda knows how to build small engines!!
and buddy here knows how to fix them.

For a complete restoration, all wear parts should be changed including bearings and piston rings, regardless of how they look or feel.

Not to mention that a metric ton of silver paint shouldn't be used, if it wasn't painted silver originally.
Silver paint is the worst, the engine will overheat
@@riccardomarinoni6733 is it true, have you done a research about your comment that silver would made a engine overheat when painted by silver, are you a engineer?
I search in google, there no such article, that states that silver paint will make your engine hotter

This is not a "lawn mower" engine, this is a "line trimmer" engine.
How could you stuff up and not know the difference between the two.
i gave a thumbs down because i didn't see you lap the valves nor hone the cylinder. the engine is burning oil. tear it down and perform proper engine rebuild please..

that is to small for a lawnmower it is for a gas powered trimmer or leafblower

Собирать моторы явно не умеет, клапан зажимает в шурик за рабочую поверхность, герметика такая кучище! Да и вообще похоже, что мотор просто сверху побрызгали какой-то подливой типа заржавел, она была даже на пластике и баке, прям наляпана. И она легко счищалась кисточкой...

Герметик это хорошо но без прокладки смысла мало!?
Тут рабочий двигатель разберёшь не факт, что потом заработает.
А тут помыл герметиком махнул и вуаля работает.

This engine has been introduced in 2003 and started to be manufactured in Japan in 2004. It's not to old to be restored, all the parts are available. It's more like cleaning and mainteaning.

It’s not old.. i just bought one yesterday..
The insides of the engine are too clean relatively to the outside, but Honda is known for not changing out a winning horse anyway. Just because you "bought one yesterday and happened to come across a restoration video of one", doesn't mean it's not manufactured any more... Just for example, straight razors are manufactured to this day.

The generator old
I rebuilt my dads 17 year old Honda GX35 engine because it stopped on him but I didn't replace the piston rings.
One thing that I didn't see you do in the video & this is what I had to do after I decarbonised the combustion chamber & the valves because a chunk of carbon was holding the inlet valve opening which is why it lost compression is to reset the valve tappet clearance because it was too tight on the inlet valve after I reinstalled the valves !
