AWESOME! My mother was going to spend a few hundred bucks to replace her system because of the crackling with the volume. She was worried about a fire etc. She is nearly 80 which explains her fears. Thank You.
I have this issue with several devices.. a guitar pedal, a small mixer and a speaker. Just wondering how to get to it, how to open it up and so forth. So I can access the inside. That's the only thing I'm having trouble with
Don't blow off- use a soft brush to dislodge the dust while using a vacuum cleaner with a small attachment to remove it. Blowing will make the dust go everywhere underneath the boards where it will be difficult to remove from.
In addition to the crackling sound with the volume knob, I also hear a huge pop when turning power on/off. Is this a separate issue or will doing the above help with that?
Can I use WD 40 instead?Edit: This was mentioned on Google, any thoughts? Rubbing alcohol and acetone are also commonly used as electrical contact cleaners. These solvents are effective in removing dirt and grime, and they evaporate quickly, leaving no residue behind. However, they should be used with caution as they can damage certain types of plastics and rubber.
Hey, bro. Could you explain that a little more? The volume knob on my audio interface is noisy but only when there's sound coming out of the speakers, therefore I assume it's not rust or dirty. Might be what you say but I have zero knowledge in electronics and don't know what any of that means.
@@sepita10 I ultimately got mine replaced since it was still under warranty as I didn’t want to spend $35 on contact cleaner, which is what the seller recommended
Your last tip, spraying the cable plug is what I was looking for! Thank you very much.
Saved me my sanity. Now my speakers and audio interface no longer hit me with static when I change the volume

Thak you for all your videos - you are helping others.
Got this same issue with the volume on my practice guitar amp. Thanks!
Thanks so much! I am happy to finally fix the crackle on my receiver... cheers!!
Did it work?
We don't have kontact 60 here in the Philippines please suggest any brand or any kind of liquid that can apply for amplifier
Kontakt cleaner is now required for your audio VSTs in audio interface for your kontakt plugins.. Neat..

I think you have to turn it up and down while you're cleaning it out until it stops making the sounds. But if it doesn't stop you need to replace it

Excellent thank you so much!
Crackling sound is caused by DC voltage over the wiper. Put capactior in series and it should be solved forever.

Please explain more of that
I have this issue but only when sound is playing, when no sound is playing, but my speakers are on, there is no crackling with the volume knob
Same here, bro. Did you find a solution?
