Pixy's tale is quite tragic. He was a Belkan from the south that lost his family when he was young and became a mercenary that fought against his own people. Seeing the Oseans savagely destroy Hoffnung and Belka destroy itself in nuclear Armageddon was too much for him, to the point he thought that only by starting the world over could he bring peace to it. No wonder he joined the ISAF afterwards (Many of their members weren't just anti-Erusea, they were also anti-Osea as well)

    Rot 1
A nation is comprised of the individuals who live in its borders. It can only become a nation when it is supported by those individuals. But mercenaries who cross lines and allegiance for money have no country to protect. They only fight for their own power and fame. But if that was the case, then why did I lose to him? Maybe not having the burden of a nation allows you to fly faster.
    Grun 1
War is something fought on the desk of politicians. As long as they win in the end, that’s all that matters. But for us, it’s a matter of survival. In order to survive, you need to analyze the situation in an instant. It’s the same as living in a city. The rules of this little city apply just as well to that wide open sky. That guy had the same feel about him as this city.
    Indigo 1
I fly under the code of knighthood. It’s no surprise since we soldiers are the descendants of the Belkan Knights. We protect the meek and give our lives for honor. But that does not mean that we are generous… since generosity will cost us our lives. If the pilot survived to the end of the war, he must have carried out these rules.
    Gelb 2
I bailed out and landed here. The Captain was gone. I’ve lived a comfortable life since then… and I probably have him to thank for that. They ring the bells here at dusk to honor the liberation of the capital. It signals peace, but… to me, they are the sounds of death.
    Schwarze Leader
Is the man still alive? Though I guess it’s hard for bad guys like us to die. The real heroes always manage to die first. But guys like him, Solo Wing, and me, we live the rest of our lives in hell. But then again, being alive is proof that we were good.
    Schnee 1
When a fighter plane goes down, that’s the end. It disintegrates into pieces, incinerated beyond recognition. It’s a scary thought. But it also makes you feel alive. I left the military, but I still fly that sky. But…it’s pretty lonely up there all by myself. I’d love to fly with him again someday.
    Silber 1
Hatred cannot be the only motivation for war. It only brings about more pointless deaths. I lost most of my students. They were all my children, my flesh and blood. I will never overcome that grief. I’ll probably never teach anyone again, nor will I ever go up in the sky again. I’ve entrusted everything I know to a new generation. I’ll just look on from here.
    Espada 2
If the Demon Lord hadn’t appeared, our lives might have been different. For me, it wasn’t about flying or ideals. Most of all, it was about him, my flight lead. Our mission was to escort the heavy command cruiser that was to act as transportation for the organization. And the Demon Lord appeared, as if to block our paths. I will never forget his overwhelming power. One by one, my comrades were shot down, and then the mother bird we were supposed to protect.
We survived after the fight. We left our organization and returned to the ground together. But…he was heavily wounded. He soon passed away, leaving me behind. We were only able to spend a short time together in peace and quiet.
But I don’t blame anyone. The regret and suffering that remained after that battle…were also what he had given me. They’re among the precious few things he left behind.
    Sorcerer 1
“Demon Lord” was right. Everything he touched fell apart. I thought I was watching magic. When I was in the military, they called me an ace too. I got medals for my actions on numerous battlefields. I’d never felt fear toward an opponent, The same with my ideals. I wasn’t afraid to take on even an entire country. But when I was fighting him, something felt different. At first, I didn’t know what it was. It wasn’t until I noticed my hands shaking on the flight stick that I realized…it was fear. It’s embarrassing, but once I felt that, I couldn’t fly anymore, I felt guilt towards my companions at the time. There’s always a war somewhere and I’m sure he’s on some battlefield somewhere fighting even now. He’ll always have a place to live.
    Gault 1
"The gate to the new world has been opened. My soul shall be the wind that enters the gate. When the sleeping King awakes, my body, too, shall surely rise."
    Wizard 1
This darkness and that little window are my entire world now. I’m actually rather fond of it. The darkness envelops me in a borderless world, a world with no boundaries. He was not the reason we were unable to change the world. No matter what the desired outcome is, the world can still change as long as people expand their knowledge and desire change. Today’s world has already changed from what it was back then.
    Galm 2
I should have died that day. But I didn’t. I dragged my wounded body, and reached ground zero of the nuclear detonations. A barren, empty land. I felt an unbearable sadness when I witnessed that landscape. There were still people living there. They were the ones that saved me. It may be true that the world has no need of borders. But would getting rid of them really change anything? The world won’t change for the better unless we trust people. Trust is vital in a peaceful world. But that will never happen, I’m still on the battlefield. Right now I’m near a border. I want to see for myself what borders really mean and what their volition really is… I may not find what I’m looking for but I still wanna try. Anyway, that’s what I’ve come to believe and I think that’s enough.
Will he see this video? If you meet him, give him a message from me.

Cipher walked out the door to his home and looked out over the land. He always loved the view of the country during sunset. It always helped put him at ease when he was stressed. And with a nagging feeling he couldn't explain happening, this was a good alleviation. He took in a breath of the air, as clean and refreshing as it always was and let a smile grace across his face.
"Daddy! Daddy!" a voice called out to him.
He turned around to see his young daughter running at him, holding something. He grew curious as he knelt down to greet her. "Hey sweetie, whatcha got there?"
She held out the item: A dog tag. Cipher raised an eyebrow as he took it and began examining. And the name printed on it made his calming mood shatter. Larry Foulke. "W-Where did you find this?" He asked.
"I was looking around in the attic and found it in an old box with some of your old Air Force stuff. I thought it was weird since it didn't have your name on it and wanted to see if you knew anything."
Her words barely managed to register to him as he ran his thumb over the dog tag, a look of concern coming over him. His mind flashed back to that day over Avalon. The extrenuating G forces he felt maneuvering his plane through the canyon, the sense of fear he felt trying to stop V2 and the sadness of having to do what he never thought he would have to to a person he once called his friend. He didn't notice his face growing more concerned and pale.
"DAD!" his daughter shouted, snapping him out of his stupor. "Are you okay? You don't look good."
Cipher shook his head to clear his head and put on a fake smile. "Y-yeah I'm fine. Just thinking about something. Where is your mother?"
"I think out in the garden." She responded, her head tilting curiously.
"Why don't you go help her. I'm sure she'll appreciate it." He said, putting a hand on her shoulder, the false smile still apparent.
"Okay!" She said, excitedly. And with that she ran off towards the garden on the other end of the house, disappearing from his sight.
He looked down at the dog tag again, the "smile" slipping off his face completely. Then, turning his attention up, he once again focused on the countryside, noticing little bits that made his heart grow more heavy. A small truck heading down the distant road, a group of kids playing near one of his neighbors' house, a small flock of birds flying through the air. To anyone else, these sights were trivial, nothing really of note. But to Cipher, they meant so much in that moment.
They were signs of peace, of tranquility, of a calming feeling that mercenary pilots like him rarely saw. And with what could've happened on that day, it would've been a sight he could never see again. He clenched his eyes shut in anger at the man who was almost responsible for the massacre of countless lives. If he didn't stop Pixy on that day, this comfortable life he's come to love wouldn't exist. His wife and daughter, the two people he loves the most and the ones who'd helped him realize that a good life isn't always one in the air.... they would've never came to be, as he would be dead.
Cipher wanted to be angry at Pixy, he wanted to resent him for almost bringing the world to ruin. But he just couldn't. Pixy's words echoed in his head.
_'Too bad, buddy. This twisted game needs to be reset. We'll start over from zero with this V2, and entrust the future to the next generation.'_
Those words replayed over and over in Cipher's mind. How could Pixy know what was gonna happen? That the atrocities committed during the Belkan War weren't gonna happen again? That the world would be at true peace after millions would be exterminated? He shook his head and sighed, his grip loosening on the dog tags. That wasn't the Pixy he knew.
For all that he's done, Cipher couldn't really resent him. If anything, he took pity on Pixy. He was disillusioned into believing that destruction was the path towards peace, that being united into a world without nations would be the key. But was it really that simple? Would the human race really be compliant like that? It was doubtful, to say the least.
Cipher once again looked at the dog tags. This was the only evidence of Pixy that they found among the wreckage of the Morgan. Since there was no body, then that meant he was alive, somewhere. In the few months after the incident, Cipher used any connection he could get to see if anything else related to Pixy's whereabouts were found. It was a fruitless endeavour but that didn't stop Cipher from looking.
He didn't know why he was so obsessed with finding him. Was it a fear that he could do something like this again? Back then, that's what Cipher believed. But now, he realized he was lying to himself. It wasn't fear, but a longing. A longing to see an old friend who he had formed a close bond with over the course of that hellish war. A longing to find out why he did what he did.
And even now, 10 years after he gave up searching and retired, that longing still hasn't ceased it's stranglehold over his heart. Cipher had long forgiven Pixy for what he's done. Any anger he held for him was replaced by sadness and pity. Maybe Pixy is still out there, alive? Maybe he's settled down and found a different path in life? These questions, Cipher asked himself as he looked out into the sky. The last rays of the sun reflected off the stray tears running down Cipher's face.
He knew he would probably never be able to see Pixy again, but that didn't stop him from having faith. A faith that an old friend is alive and finding his own path. That faith was enough to put a smile on his face as he repeated the question his friend used to always ask him:
    "Yo Buddy, you still alive?"

It was a cold and snowy day.
Snow crunched under his feet as he walked. Nothing but a brown leather jacket and a baseball cap to shield him from the relentless cold.
That was fine. A life in the Ustian hinterlands made him used to the cold.
The man, now with slightly graying hair, stopped. He could see it.
Where it all happened. Where it all ended.
    Avalon Dam.
    "Wondering when you'd visit, buddy."
Cipher turned around. There he was. His enemy. The other side of the coin. The King of the Round Table.
    His buddy.
    Pixy.
Cipher just cracked a smile. "I guess I can say that I'm still alive?"
Pixy gave a small chuckle and walked up next to Cipher, his eyes glued to the wall of metal. "I guess we can both say that."
The former Galm Team stayed silent for a while, reminiscing of what had happened all those years ago.
"Did you really have to shoot down PJ like that?" Cipher suddenly asked.
Pixy had a conflicted look on his face. "I... was aiming for you, actually. I would've shot PJ's engines and force him to eject. Figured he at least still had someone to come home to."
    "You and me both."
Another silence. This time, Pixy broke it.
"I heard you got a family, actually. How're they doing?"
"Oh, the kids take after me, you kn-"
Cipher was suddenly cut off by the roar of ten afterburning jet engines screaming overhead - four Tomcats and a Raptor. Cipher instinctively ducked but came to his senses quickly, while Pixy, for whatever reason, didn't react.
    "...goddammit."
Pixy burst into laughter while Cipher grinned widely. "No wonder PJ wanted me to go here, that little shit..."
"Wasn't just PJ, buddy. Your kids have been trying for ages."
Cipher's head whipped over. "You mean-"
A crooked grin. "We had a whole plan. Blaze pulled some strings in the peacekeeping corps to get PJ in Razgriz for a day, and they've got a sortie north of here."
It was Cipher's turn to laugh. "The things you idiots do for a laugh..."
The two friends just stood there, chuckling, as the sounds of Mobius 1 and the Aces of Razgriz faded into the distance.

“Yo buddy, still alive? And thanks friend... see you again.”
Those words echoed throughout the neat and tidy room, the walls covered in medals and mementos of his participation in the Belkan war.
As the documentary came to a close enveloping his comfortable space once more in silence, he began to reflect on that long past conflict. Even as the world moved on, his scars and wounds didn’t. They were a constant reminder of that war which defined him. It was on that battlefield where he made it known his pride, his glory, his skill, his achievements, his heroism, his sins, and the very nickname that was bestowed upon him by those who had flown the skies alongside him, as both friend and foe:
The demon lord of the round table, was what they once called him. A name that was feared and respected by all who had seen his prowess, spoken in either hushed whispers in alleyways or proclaimed loudly at parties as to rouse interest. To him, that nickname was both a curse and a blessing. Before he walked in the shadows to avoid bringing unwanted attention to himself only appearing periodically to reveal himself for a moments notice, now he walks the streets having his background fade into obscurity along with his reputation.
Memories once repressed by time and age began flooding back, filling his mind with both anguish and nostalgia. PJ, Pixy, Hoffnung, Avalon, B7R, oh how he yearned to be free of it all, the burden that he placed on himself. Yet it was this burden that seemed integral to who he was and is, almost as if it was another part of his soul.
He sat there pondering for a moment before chuckling and breaking a bittersweet smile, muttering softly to himself:
“Hey pal, guess I still am. And one last thing... I miss you.”

I really liked the "only appearing periodically to reveal himself for a moments notice". Idk if you did it on purpose to make it sound like the razgriz poem, it also fits cipher quite well as one way to interpret the Razgriz poem is cipher being the first Razgriz "As a demon, it uses its power to rain death upon the land, and then it dies." while Blaze and the gang being the second part of the Razgriz legend "after a period of slumber, Razgriz returns, this time, as a great hero."

When I was 9 or 10 I didn't understand the story in this game at all, because I didn't understand English. So I just played the game with my dad without knowing the story in this game. My dad is a veteran of Ace Combat game btw, he has been playing this game since PS1 era, and he is also the one who introduced me to Ace Combat franchise. I remember when I wanted to buy a game for my PS2, he told me to buy an Ace Combat game. I didn't know anything about Ace Combat, but he said it was a good game, so we bought it. We bought Ace Combat Zero. Over time Ace Combat Zero became one of my favorite games on PS2, I always played it when I came home from school. But then my PS2 broke. I didn't play PS2 Game for a few years after that. When I grew up I tried to play Ace Combat Zero again, I finally understood a little English, so I started to understand the story of this game. I cried, The nostalgia, the music, the story and the feeling of this game feel very special. This game is really beautiful, thanks to my dad for introducing me to this beautiful game.

And finally the ending. signifying the end of a journey, it's all lamentation and self reflection now, all that glory, achievement and memories, as everything slowly fades away....thanks for coming to my TED talk, hope all you aces have a wonderful day and achieving what ever you strive for..

But most importantly, 4:20 shows scenes from the city where Pixy is, showing that time has passed but wars still occur. After that, it shows the dead land which those 7 nukes caused. It show the desolate landscape, but after that it shows flowers blooming. And of course after all that, when track is about the end, photo of Cipher' and Pixy's plane is shown. I can imagine its PJ who took that photo and showed it to those two.

Eventually history must be allowed to remember those that fought for good or evil. Eventually a hero's time must end.
We must all eventually head out into the sunset.
At least until it needs us once again.
Strangereal will always remember the pilot that fought and saved thousands during the Belkan War.

Ace Combat games made me question my morals, and rightly so

The opera vibe from 1:30 almost amazingly compliments this Spanish-like song and you just gotta love the simplicity at end the and how each line starts and then abruptly ends. It’s also interesting how some lines fade out and how at the start of the second part of the song you get a final call back to Zero. Who knows what the second part truly represents, because I don’t have a damn clue. All I can say is, this song is real work of art

"The year is 2005, and it's a Reunion for Belkan Aces shot down during the war.
Although the war was a decade bygone, the scars of it were still fresh, the horrors of the nukes resonated in everyone there like a bad omen. Many old vets who were still alive were there, including Solowing Pixy, the legendary side man for the war hero Cypher, who they thought was killed in 2005, just months beforehand. But when that was said, a riff ringed out (The start of the song) from a guy in the corner with his helmet on, and when they saw the Dog logo on the side of it, they all knew who it was." 4, 5 and zero are definitely better games, but as far as difficulty goes once I finished AC 7 on max difficulty I wiped the floor with literally every enemy in the previous games regardless of difficulty, sadly AC 7 is so much more difficult that mastering its difficulty made the other games feel too easy purely because PS2 limitations limited the number of enemies on a map too much and AC 6 enemies are all easy, but their numbers are the only thing that gives it any difficulty.
