    Marc, you make great videos, better than most of the other UA-cam travel channels. I really don't understand why your viewership isn't higher. You've been at it for awhile now (over a year and 70 videos) so hopefully folks will catch on soon to your channel. You deserve more views than you do get for all of the work you put into them. Thanks.

    Above String lake there is a hidden small lake approximately 1000 feet up the mountain if I remember right it's called Laurel Lake. The trail is very hidden trail that heads up the mountain on the back side of the string lake trail. The way you find the hidden trail is you have to look for a small run off push through the brush and then it will turn into a trail; it's definitely not for the weak of heart! When you get to the Laurel Lake you push on past it and it turns into a gigantic Boulder Field that is awesome to climb around in.

    Well, you can see why that's a national park. Your video depicted it so well, you do have an artistic touch. I camped and painted there several years ago and had a great site in one of the campgrounds. It was a leveling challenge but had great views. I love your boondocking site, more to my liking also, and so is the kayaking. ML, Zanobia Shalks

    Hello there. First of all, thank you for all the detailed information you put into each video. After watching your videos a couple of months back I decided to plan a trip out west and check out Wyoming and Montana. So I rented an RV out of SLC and in a couple of weeks we are checking out Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, and we are finishing our trip off with Grand Teton National Park. I wanted to know if you had any recommendations or something that I should absolutely check out and make part of our trip? We reserved a campsite in Yellowstone and Glacier NP, and we were planning on dispersed camping the rest of the time. Most of the time when I go on vacation we just wing it and live in the moment. I don't want to overwhelm our trip, but if there is something that is a must do(or see) I'd love to add it to our "itinerary". Thanks again

      We'd agree that many parts of Wyoming are very beautiful, particularly the northwestern part of the state, the Big Horn Mountains, and the Laramie Mountains. Many of the spots in between, though, can be something of a barren wasteland that are starkly beautiful in their own way.

    Great video! By the way, if you're back in the Tetons later, try paddling Leigh Lake, going in from String Lake. You'll have to portage over the little neck of land between String and Leigh, but once on Leigh, it's paddle craft only and much wilder. There is a terrific campsite right beneath Mt. Moran at the far western end of the lake. Definitely one of the best paddle lakes in the Tetons.

    Question for you - planning our trip to Grand Teton this summer, and hoping to camp either in the Shadow Mountain area where you were or up on FR 30310 (Upper Teton View). Wondering how the roads were and if you scouted out any further up the hill. Am guessing it can be pretty busy at times, and wondering how far up the road we might want to venture before giving up & camping with the masses. ;-)

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  5 років тому

      Lauren, we were in Upper Teton View. Upper and Lower Teton View are collectively referred to as Shadow Mountain by the Forest Service. The road getting up to where we were was pretty rough (rocky) and slow going, but negotiable. We really didn't explore much further than about a half-mile up beyond our camp but there seem to be sites all along that road, all the way to the top.

    Question. For all this rural boondocking does these seem possible in a class A? As in the roads, etc. Also, are UTV common for exploring the roads and getting around? Thank you.

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  5 років тому

      Shawn, UTVs are very, very common across most of the West. This particular campsite would be off-limits for a Class A due to the road to get up there. However, the Lower Shadow Mountain area below this camp would be easily accessible in a Class A, as are many of our boondocking spots. The answer is a giant "it depends," as the roads vary widely in quality.

    • @GrandAdventure

      We're perfectionists, all we see is those spots. 😆

    I’m a new subscriber of your channel. By the way I find it very informative, I have a question for you: how do you find those places to camp, they are very nice?

    Quick question we are going to be staying the entire month of June 20/20 can shadow mountain have a spot for a 36ft travel Trailer and is it easy to get in and out of?

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  5 років тому

      In the lower area, no problem. We doubt we'd try to get it to the upper area -- that road is rough and steep.

    I have got to make my way to see that. I have a rookie story too. This will show my age alittle. Me and another fellow was working in Germany. We ask the woman who owned the hotel about things too see in the area. This was before the internet. She said there was a castle that had been changed into a Casino. She let us borrow two bicycles 3 speeds 😳. We rode there about 10 miles one way. I took some great pictures of the castle and surrounding village. Every roof in the village was red. I got back to hotel forgot to rewind film and all the pictures were ruined. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 live and learn. The small spots on the lenses did not take away from the beautiful .

      Thank you Danny! More than once I accidentally opened the back of my 35mm camera without rewinding first -- been there, done that.

    Can a 35ft Class A roll into this place? Oh and towing a toad

      @GrandAdventure  3 роки тому +1

      Not at all at the spot we were at; however, at the bottom of the hill directly beneath our campsite in this video is a small dry campground with nearly identical views that you could likely get a Class A into goo.gl/maps/mZ3Jw6a9r3tnDraM8 . The rough unpaved USFS road into that campground is only about a 1/2 mile.

      Aahhhh, thanks, you had me Googling Bannia National Park and finding nothing! 😆 Yes, but only during winter, not yet in summer.

    charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/shadow-and-toppings-vault-toilets This is a link to donate for pit toilets and other improvements to the Shadow Mountain camping area. The road over Shadow Mountain for campsites 1-22 is extremely rough. I would not take anything but a rugged 4x4 on it.

    Mark, we love your videos. But would you PLEASE do something about your sound levels with your music? It's so much louder than your vocals. Much, much louder. This is a problem with your mixing. Your channel is the only one that this happens with, so it's not us. Thanks!

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  5 років тому +1

      We sincerely appreciate your feedback, and will admit that it's been a constant struggle. However, we'd like to believe that we've gotten much better at it in more recent videos than this one. We're trying, trust us!
