Lake or is that a lake ....... it’s huge it’s makes our lakes looking like puddles 😂😂seriously after watching your films you are truly blessed to have everything in one country ,don’t get me wrong the UK is great and has some lovely places to visit and we have some wonderful national parks , but for size and vastness of your lands are truly remarkable , in the times I’ve visited we’ve always found America Great and the people even more special thanks Marc .Gavin & Zehra
You could easily do so. It's a gorgeous area! Right now I have a trial for work scheduled in Polson in August, I'm hoping that one goes because it could give us a good excuse to return to that area.
Excellent Rick, safe travels and enjoy! FYI we updated this area with a new video filmed about 5 or 6 weeks ago: ua-cam.com/video/I-XQV-R-DXI/v-deo.html
Hi Mark the Lakes are beautiful. Interesting you showed the recovery after the fire. We are going through quite heat wave and Rivington where I filmed has been burning for over week now. Thanks Phil and Juliet.
We recently discovered your channel and really enjoy it. We are nearing retirement and the wide open west is priority for us. Your videos are a great resource for traveling that part of the country!
We're so happy that you found us! Glad to hear that the videos are proving helpful, just hit us up if we can help in any way. Congrats on your pending adventures!
Awesome will do. If your travels ever bring you to the Florida Suncoast (Clearwater/St.Petersburg) we have a fantastic waterfront county park called Ft. Desoto. Lots of water related activities and things to do in the area. Look us up for some area tips. Safe travels. @@GrandAdventure
@@OurCoupledAdventure we know the area well! We lived for a time in Pass-a-Grille (as well as Anna Maria and Lakewood Ranch). Gorgeous area you live in!
Fantastic Spell Madam! We need to get back up there when Going to the Sun Road is actually open; maybe late this summer, as we might be returning via eastern Montana.
Greetings to you folks as well! Yep, Mrs. Grand Adventure especially loved Polson, and it nearly made our "Top 10 of 2018" episode ua-cam.com/video/g8O7wJ7RE7A/v-deo.html in the "Best Town" category. Thanks for commenting, we just subbed back.
Mark... Thanks for the video... I agree with Brenda, absolutely beautiful. Not sure were you are right now, but you may want to check out the Hiawatha Bike Trail at Lookout Mtn. on Hwy. 90 at the Montana/Idaho border. Be Safe and Be Well.
You mentioning mosquitoes was appreciated by this fellow Utahn. Please try to include it in other videos, as a gauge of where/when/how-much. Currently enjoying mosquito-free camping at Flaming Gorge but might follow you up to Glacier and beyond.
Nice! Flaming Gorge is one of my favorites. If I recall correctly, work you heading up to Glacier a year or two ago but turned back because of the fires?
Mosquitos hates VicksVapoRub. put on you, put some on the top, and leave top off near a widow and your bed stand. I loved The RedBus tour. Beautiful big sky.
Sorry for my earlier response now deleted, I was thinking that you watched tonight's video, rather than this one. It's not far to supplies at all -- there's a Wal-Mart and other stores in Polson, MT, about 10 miles from the campground at the south end of the lake. Prices were on par with just about anywhere else. At the other end of the lake, I'm guessing about 30-35 miles away is Kalispell, which has all manner of everything (I had to run into a Best Buy there to pick up a camera). Appreciate your comment!
That’s a shame about “Going to the Sun Road” being closed! I drove through Glacier Park back in the mid eighties and I always remember driving through the valley and working the way up the mountain right up to the top and over the pass. I would love to go back and do it again, but next time camp there where you camped. Have you thought about going back?
All the time. We'll get back there at some point, both to Glacier and to Waterton just across the border. I've been outside of Waterton before but only in winter, skiing a mountain little known outside of Alberta named Castle.
We have plans to go to Canmore up in Banff in October, but not sure how the world situation will be then. Who would have thought a couple of months ago we would be in the situation that we are at now.
@@laughingram7287 yes, strange times indeed. We were supposed to cross from the UP in Michigan into Ontario this summer, en route to Quebec to see Mrs. GA's family, but those Grand Adventure plans are presently on hold pending what develops. Right now the border into Canada is still closed until at least May 20th, and with Whitmer's restrictions I don't want to go anywhere near Michigan, either.
Hello, is montana a good place to come for the winter as well? I live in KY and we get some cold but nothing too brutal but we are used to a lot of bad weather. Is it a good place to go and spend a long period of time camping on public land and such?
Great video!!! This is one of our “must sees” for summertime. We’ve been debating on reservations, no reservations and exactly when to go. I see most of the campgrounds are drive up/first come first serve. We’ve heard Two Medicine is a really good one and Apgar. What do you recommend? Should we stay a week on one side and a week on the other? And those state parks look pretty sweet, also!
We got ours at Camping World several years ago, Bill, but we have nearly identical chairs available in our Grand Adventure Shop on Amazon: www.amazon.com/shop/grandadventure
Good overview! Less music and more natural sounds (water lapping, birdsong, rustling trees) would afford the listener a truer sense of the atmosphere in Glacier. Who needs music when there’s a nice thrush singing in the background? (Couldn’t tell which species because of the music.)
Yeah Judy, that's just our editing style. It also hides a multitude of sins recorded onto the video clip's audio like car doors, other people talking in the background, trucks driving by, etc.
We said that Flathead Lake is "the largest freshwater natural lake in the western contiguous US states," which according to the State of Montana is accurate: www.visitmt.com/listings/general/lake/flathead-lake
I was in Glacier in July of 2012 when they had the heavy rain and 10 mudslides in 5 miles that closed Going to the Sun road, there are youtube videos of people crying thinking they were going to die. ua-cam.com/video/LUnWebVPb5Y/v-deo.html Cars were taken out on flatbeds with all the windows blown out. I have a picture of the beautiful greenish-blue river, at the next pull off it was brown water.....talk about timing.
Awesome 4K video quality. Very enjoyable.
Thank you, Robert. That comment means a lot, especially coming from the fellow UA-camr!
Going to Montana in the summer of 2019! Montana is absolutely breath taking! It's on my bucket list. God Bless America!!
Maricris C you'll have a ball!
Montana is a camping mecca. The views and camp sites are breath taking my last visit was Yellowstone. Amazing area
We couldn't agree more, Robert.

Flathead is on my list since a coworker shared his pictures. Looks like an area where I could spend a month exploring.

It's definitely worthy of a visit, or for us a return visit.
Great video on depicting the beauty of Glacier National Park
