    I've been playing the show since 2008. The most important thing in my opinion when it comes to being able to hit the ball is working the count. When I learned not to chase, my game went up several levels. I think it's more important to recognize balls that will end up out of the zone than where balls will end up in the zone. If you learn not to chase it will be much easier when you're ahead in the count to see that fat hanger in the zone. The other upside is that you can get that starters pitch count up where he is more likely to make mistakes. You also get to the bullpen faster. And last but not least, a human opponent will get frustrated quite easily if you make them throw several pitches every at bat. As you said, most people are swing happy, don't swing at bad pitches and you can get into your opponents head because they don't usually see good plate discipline. Alot of players depend on you chasing trash because they don't know how to use one pitch to set up another. Keep those players in a corner, don't swing at bad pitches.
    And dude, if have a PS5 and haven't snagged up one of these new edge controllers.....make it a priority....that's my tip for you.....😜

    I personally enjoy the PCI anchor, after watching a few of these videos I've picked up a few tips that have worked for me. I usually lock my PCI towards the bottom middle, and depending on the pitcher ill adjust it. But I like having the PCI locked towards the bottom so I can raise up and get under the ball more often then not. Small movements have worked for me I find that I've gotten more consistent with getting on target n almost dead center of the ball every time. Again just adjust the placing of the pci depending on what the pitchers throwing. Keeps throwing high I move to middle or middle high, inside move it to the inside, outside move it outside. Start trying to predict pitches. Keep eye on the ball, n practice, practice, practice.

    Great vid, here's a tip I just learned yesterday that helped my timing. If you watch the hitters front foot they step with timing of the pitch, if you swing right when they put the front heel down you will have good timing, making it easier to hit with guys with big leg kicks. I've played the game since '12 and just learned this.

    Ok. I've played the show since '16 and this video helped me more than any other. I play only RTTS on legendary with no equipment. I'm usually a .200-.260 hitter and maybe 7-10 times a season would get a perfect perfect. The first night after seeing your video I went off. Several multi-hr games and got my average up to .327 (it's only 4 weeks into the season). Holy shit dude. Great fucking video. Thank you very much. Subbed.

    Hey, I'm a new viewer from Taiwan, Please don't forget me when you get famous like the little man because I know you will! Personally, I like playing BR and Event because I wouldn't say I like long 9-inning stressful games, and I am good at taking pitches and being patient, which led me to 5 flawless runs in 22. My strategy in BR is to take all close pitches and get the pitcher's energy down and when the opponent stresses out about not hitting the corner I will eventually get my pitches to hit. Also, I'm a really good pitcher, I often hold Flawless, World series opponents to little or no runs. Anyways, hope you make more videos in the future and I promised I will watch them!

    My tip is to hit with the flick of the right stick. Other than that, it's knowing the pitcher and knowing the hitter you are hitting with. Certain pitches are thrown in certain counts. I played all the way through college so I play on legend for the challenge

    • @UHeynaBoutIt

      I wouldn’t recommend playing with guess pitch in offline play because it’s disabled for online play. It becomes too much of a crutch because then you’ll know what pitch is coming, making it easier for you, but in online play it’s gonna hurt you when you’re not used to having that on.

    Where do you place your thumb on the left stick?

    • @LogicallyKnot
      @LogicallyKnot Рік тому +1

      I lay mine flat across with the tip of my thumb pointing to the right stick. I then use the edges of my thumb to push the sick in the direction I want it to go, angling my thumb slightly depending on which way I'm moving the stick. It may take a little while to get used to but I feel like it's a more consistent way to swing. Using the tip of your thumb at the bottom of the stick doesn't give alot of control especially when you're hitting high. One more thing that might help. Make sure you're keeping your right thumb on the button to swing. Don't hold it above it. You want to take that unnecessary movement of closing that gap to the button. It doesn't seem like much, but on this game a millisecond can mean the difference in a hit and a foul.

      @@LogicallyKnot thanks!! I know a lot of it really comes to feel, but I wondered if people had some particular strategies that could help not a player not jam as much.

    • @myronkuykendall2191
      @myronkuykendall2191 Рік тому +1

      @ E Clark (I got this comment from @Jit Romney) I try to make the center of my thumb match the center of the stick. I also try to rotate my hand so it's inline with my thumb. sounds kinda weird but I noticed when my thumb and hand are.
      I actually tried this, and I have gotten more success! The difference has been that in the past, I would flick my control stick to the ball’s location. I felt like I had to jab at the location to get there quicker. My timing on the swing would be good, but because I flicked it, the PCI would go back to the middle or be slightly above the location because it wasn’t still. With Jit’s tip and watching a few different videos from folks like @CollegeLefty, I realize that once I moved to a location I need to stay in that location with the PCI. Jit’s grip and reps have helped!

      That's great man. Working the count is probably the biggest thing when it comes to hitting the ball. I've been playing the show since 2008 and once I learned to leave the trash alone and get ahead in the count, my game went up several levels. There are so many positives to being patient at the plate. You should be able to recognize if it's going to be trash almost immediately after it leaves the pitchers hand. You can also recognize spin for the type of pitch that's being thrown once you're put in the time. I still run up on pitchers were their pitch mechanics gives me problems. The slow, jerky windups are the worst for me. Especially if they have serious smoke on the ball. It's quite amazing that this game is that detailed, but it is. It's the little details that will make you better. This game is a true sim and it's not easy that's for damn sure 😂 Good luck.
