As someone who picked up MLB this year for the first time. Batting is very difficult. Thank you for the tips! I appreciate it!
not just use plate coverage indicator i played mlb the show 23 how to bunt touch ball:
- click left stick and click far side to any direction for plate coverage indicator.
- press y to sacrifice bunt touch ball more barrel of bunt touch ball advances the runner no lazy at bats advance the runner no if and or buts Nike just do it.
- 99 speed at bat easy to score runs from 3rd to home.
- bunting cuts down strikeouts at bat 3 strikes= 1 out as 3 outs ends inning for team.
- push bunt press y and use right stick and go any direction and hold it down like a game of cricket 🏏🏏
- drag bunt tap y to knock ball down.
- base stealing get runners in scoring position avoid double plays that is 2 outs as 3 outs ends inning for your team.
- steal bases but bunt touch ball lb rb advance lead reduce lead hold down lt release lt to attempt to steal a base but to bunt press y to sacifice bunt.
- 4 seam fastballs 2 seam fastballs cutters and sinkers are regardless are weak vs bunt touch the ball stop being lazy out there advance the runner.

Thanks for the tips man.. I just began playing DD more and more, that I’d like to play ranked at some point but I’ve always use the directional hitting that I began to use the PCI Bat as well.. I’ve hit some good bombs vs CPU but also struggling centering the PCI without my thumb moving it and also having no strategy, so I will practice this while I grind some better cards and build my team for rank.. thank you again! The game is realistic in the fact that you are not going to hit homers all the time unless you are on a low difficulty which is no fun at all let’s be honest. A real ball player can go many games without even recording a hit and that’s okay! It’s luck of the draw with batting…you don’t have to hit a home run every at bat.
I wasn’t talking about hitting home runs every at bat, but I understand what you’re saying. I was talking about how the timing, to me doesn’t seem consistent
My timing is terrible this year and I play every year and do fairly well. To early on 99 fast balls like what 😂

@@skipbenny biggest difference bro is using X for hitting not square (power)or circle(contact) I was only using power sing and after switching to normal swing(X) I improved a lot.., also Strike zone 2 for hitting view

Man that claw technique is helping me atleast hit the ball. I don’t know if my thumb to brain is slow but that claw helps me to hit stuff!! You love to see it!!
I like using no inner PCI just diamonds in the middle and reverb outer PCI. It helps me hit better at higher difficulties.
This video has helped me immediately. I am cranking a home run way more often now. I was at all-star, now I am legend.

Man, I've been playing MLB The Show for years, and this video has been the most helpful and awesome info I've ever seen on any streaming site. A lot of good beginner tips, but you also gave me some new ideas! Keep up the great content!
main question is this years 23 better than 21 and 22? i heard if you only play Rttts and franchise only is same thing no different from 21 and 22. same game.
@Angel bluerider Definitely better than 21. If you're only playing RTTS then there's not a huge difference. But it IS smoother, loads a lot quicker, and overall more enjoyable.
Great vid. Im a new player. Only played a couple times on 22 n now on 23 I can’t hit the ball all over again. But one tip I figured out myself is that instead of watching the pitcher or ball the entire time. Just look at where he releases the ball when he throws

This was actually good advice thank you the strike zone 1 is helping me a lot more with taking pitches. Also, I feel you on the whole "playing numbers" thing for newer players with overalls on cards. It's my first mlb the show game, and for whatever reason I just love J.T.'s swing. But thanks for the video it really helped me out.

This year I decided to play in Legend rtts I started off horrible then picked up the pace but still too many strikeouts I watched your video went from batting 240 to 345 in less 15 games still on legend with the setting you provided hit more hrs and even got called up to aaa in those 15 games

I started with the show 21 and i was straight cheeks, then in 22 i was a little better but i was striking out more than kyle schwarber irl, now in 23 in a bit better, taking pitches being patient. Just keep playing and you guys will be goats in no time, trust!

I mean honestly I haven’t played since like the show 2010 it takes about a few weeks or so to get used to the “general” gameplay of the batting. I’ve done good up to this point and this is my first time seeing this vid so hopefully this takes it to the next lvl. Good luck y’all
the claw method is great, already making more consistent contact.
There is 2 reasons why this game is so difficult, especially online.
1. The difference in ball speed between all the modes is something that will really mess up your timing. For example, the visual speed of the ball between Vs CPU, 1 on 1, and RTTS are all different. The Vs CPU has a much faster visual than 1 on 1.
2. Latency. You have 2 different systems in 2 different locations (usually) and this is just the downfall of internet. You will find the further away your opponent is, the harder it is to have good timing.
Side note of something that irritates me in this game. The pitch speed between player pitching and player batting. Why the hell did they do that. You look like you’re throwing 45 MPH. Then I go to bat and I have to try to hit 102 MPH heaters.
I suck at this game but I’m raw af in madden and 2k. So this is the first challenging game I’ve played in forever. I quit the last 2 but imma try to thug it out this time. I’m in 2 leagues now.
The left thumb and pointer finger strategy was a game changer for me as a newer player thank you 🤝🏼
Good tips. Bottom line hitting a baseball is hard in real life so it should be hard in the game. Just takes alot of practices and reps and patience to get better.
I felt like he was speaking right at me when he talked about slamming the PCI down on tunneled pitches. I think it’s bc my brain believes that the PCI is in the way, like I can’t see the pitch so I move it out the way. Can’t tell you how many perfect/perfect I missed bc of it.

Can you swap to using the R stick instead of the L stick? From someone who plays shooters on controller I feel it would come a lot more natural.

I’m spending up to 30 minutes each moment because my pci placement is horrible and my timing is guaranteed very late or very early
I remember when I first played mlb the show 11... guess pitch was usable lol why not anymore? No mentions or anything. I dont use it personally, but used to (obviously).

I always try to be honest in my tip videos. The show is one of the most like, instinct based game. Some will be able to do it immediately, some will take hours and hours to get it
Hello! New viewer here (subbed of course) newish player as well. Would timing hitting not be worth it? I’ve noticed if I time perfectly it gives me perfect pci even though I’m not using it? Is that an automatic thing every time I have perfect timing or is that a stat affected thing happening in the background? Love the Vids! Thank you!
Hey man! Appreciate the sub! So timing online will give you random results which is why it’s not recommended. If you are purely offline, the whatever works the best for you!
Watched this video while working & i was tempted to put it to the test, i got home played 3 games had awesome plate discipline, hit a grand slam & a 3 run home run in the same game to seal the deal. Now my only issue is hitting 102+. Apparently verlander throws 104 I’ve seen it that’s my only issue now
My tip is to just look for the first movement of offspeed and if it doesn’t come yk it’s fb
As someone who played MLB years ago and came back not too long ago…
1. The whole dynamic difficulty is horrible. You should start at the most easiest difficulty if you are really struggling so you can at least get a feel of what good pitches are since most will be in the center of the zone. Once you feel you have caught up to what good pitches are, then go up on difficulty yourself. Go back if you need more practice. Once you are hitting like a pro, you’ll have a better chance facing another player.
2. Good pitches are only going to become rare. Try to not gonfor all the pitches and only focus on what comes closer to the inner PCI as you’ll have a better chance of a solid hit.
Also, look at every pitcher’s arsenal. This way you’ll create a memory of how pitches break and know what each pitcher might be throwing at you and the speed so you get better at timing the swing. After many games, trust that it works.
Once a while we all strike out but when you build up on getting better at being patient with the ball, almost every time there’s a hit.
I’m at the point where I only use the diamonds inner PCI with nothing else and I’m reading the balls very easily.
The best way to hit is strike zone 2 with pci visibility set to 100%. This way the pci cursor is no longer a distraction
Good communication about hitting how about the defense I’m losing a lot of games because I’m not playing defense well and I’m playing the rtts
How do you get rid of the blue lines AROUND the strikezone. My little cousin put them on and it’s driving me crazy trying to figure out how to take them off

Is there any tips for someone where i can rarely even hit with timing? PCI im even worse. I can barely do veteran difficuly moments without wasting 30+ minutes and its at the point where its just straight up not fun.

it just takes a lot of practice and patience, one thing that really helped me click with hitting was just focusing on the pitchers glove and arm motion every time, it may sound obvious but its one of those things you really gotta lock in to focus on
best tip is to go into the practice mode and practice a lot to get your timing down. You can change what types of pitches the pitcher throws, the locations of where he throws them, anything. Practice on the higher difficulties and then playing on the lower difficulties will be easy. It's like swinging a weighted bat in the on deck circle in real life.

I’m old and enjoy basic franchise mode. Any suggestions to offset the horrendous CPU in-game logic? Specifically with bullpen settings. The over use of long relievers and underuse of late-inning options just takes me out of it.
Which setting follows the ball during a homerun?
Can anyone please help. Did they remove the PCI move-to-place when guessing a section for a pitch? It was in last year, can't figure out why they removed it, if they did.

Do not use pci anchor. It affects the speed your pci moves at different parts of the zone. For casual play it’s fun for sure, but if your looking to get 12 wins in br and be a World Series player don’t use it.

@@East573 Plate coverage indicator by using bat by going to settings that means by using pop swing by pressing x meaning just pop but less vision, contact swing by pressing b meaning more care but follow through your swing, a means normal swing meaning average care all around regardless that means that is the swing of the bat is going to go but depending on your player at bat, get the bat on top swinging the bat means more reward more pop regardless know your hot spots at bat regardless but now bunting touch ball advances the runner. now remember still bunting touch ball stop being lazy out there advance the runner by pressing y to sacrifice bunt know remember 4 seam fastballs especially when its 4444 mph pitch, 2 seam fastballs cutters and sinkers are weak vs bunt touch ball.

Like Ray Ferraro used to say in ea sports nhl training on the ice try it out now.
Better yet don't hit for power unless you have a hitter's count and your batter has a power rating of at least 80. Hitting for power at the right moment makes a difference

I hit foul ball after foul ball after foul ball after foul ball when I play online. While my opponent doesn't one foul all game. Is it my hand-eye coordination or is something else the problem?
I heard Another UA-camr acting like zooming in the camera when batting is what the advance players do lol , it literally makes it too easy, you play games hitting 15 or more home runs a game which I think is lame when it’s too easy.
Still trying to fight the habit of dropping my PCI all the way down when the pitch comes …..
