As a Lifegaurd, I would recommend to anyone as scanning the pool and people, count the people in water and keep on making sure it's the same to not get bored and to ensure safety!
Last night I passed my written exam, single person water rescue and CPR scenario and my group scenario all with a 100%. I watched your tip videos over and over and they definitely made a huge difference and helped me a ton. Thank you so much for your videos and advice!
Watching this an hour before my first shift 😂👍
Beooo same lol
Watching this a week before my first shift💅🏻
@@itsangel5270 same bro I’m scared
same
Sameeee
Thanks for post all these video.
First shift is in less then an hour 😖 I’m so nervous
How did it go?
@@LifeofAdam So easy! I love the job, just tried remembering what was in your vids and made it a lot easier on what to expect :))
Watching this three hours before work
I have my first shift in like 40 minutes but ok lol. Ty yputube for the recommendation
I got my certification on the 18th. I applied to my local waterpark. They're only hiring 3 out of the 5 kids in my class because that's how many spots they have left. I did my interview already now I'm waiting on a call. I'm kinda nervous I won't get it. If I don't I can probably apply at the school natatorium or maybe a local club in town. But thanks for the lifeguard videos! I was definitely prepared for everything getting my certificate.
Good luck with everything! Lmk how it goes
@@LifeofAdam I got the job! As of right now ill be a backup guard but ill still get my hours in. Just gotta get the drug test and physical and the fun all starts on the 22nd! Thanks for your videos bro!!
starting today 😅
I had my first rescue unfortunately it was a major one
I bet u handled it great!
@@LifeofAdam I’m a little shaken up
How many rescues did u have to make and how long did u lifeguard
I’m angry my instructor loss the paper saying I passed the brick test now I have to re do it the brick is 12 feet deep i barely got it the first time
It should be 7 to 9 feet if your getting an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. You should check with your instructor to make sure that's the right depth
@@Army-xn9tj mines though stargaurd elite
@@leopardgal3337 oh then it might be different.
@@Army-xn9tj are training is a lot different and are instructor said ours is a little harder
Good luck! As lifeguard you have to be ready for anything no matter what or how. Lives come first and that I what you signed up to do! Hope this helps!
For the Lifeguard Pretest 300 meter swim. When doing this am I able to keep my head above water the whole time or do I have to have proper technique with my head in the water and breaths here and there?
I recommend doing breaststroke. It makes it easier to keep your head in the water and take breaths accordingly. Not sure if they mark you off for keeping your head above the entire time. Definitely ask your instructors when you get there.
My workplace was very laid back with the tests but they told us we could perform any stroke except backstroke
I’m so nervous I have my first shift soon
First shift is nerves at first, but once your up there on the stand/chair. It feels great haha. You’ll end up being excited for the next one
Starting monday
Who has trained under Ellis and associates?
was it hard?
@@lao9464 i think he wants to know also lol
@@lao9464 I’ve done the pre-test. It was only 200yrd (8 laps) swim. The brick dive and and treading water were the same tho. My class is this weekend but I have to watch A LOT of e-learnings prior to it. E&A is what the YMCA, at least where I live, uses for training.
No me! American Red Cross! They like to do it a bit different! Good luck!
@@alexiswilson9900 I would also use Red Cross as it's more universally accepted.
do they give you your own swimsuit?
Typically no, they give you a couple of lifeguard shirts tho
@@LifeofAdam so we have to buy something red?
Can I wear a hat that has sports team on it or will it have to be strictly lifeguard red or plain?
I would say that's fine as long as the the rest of your uniform is bright red and people know you are a lifeguard!
It depends on your faculty you’re working
@@ethanperalta321 my uniform is bright neon yellow
are they going to drug test me before starting as a lifeguard this summer?
They did for me, so most likely
Depends, working for a Y and Pool Management Company, and swim school, I have not done. But you ahold not be using any drugs on the job or in general except caffeine especially with children!
Starting soon
