Dude, this is one of the very very best videos you ever did. Your buddy/relative is the perfect match for it and i did feel like a kid again about to find something really special. A wonderful feeling . My favourite piece is the tube radio or whatever it is with the magic eye and the totally crazy analog presets. If you make that thing work again, that's a win win and I hope you will let us know. Thanks brother. Much love as always from West Spain!!❤

Those APC units work well for trickle chargers for larger batteries and can still provide automatic switchover on power fail. I drill holes in the side of them, extend the wires out to large batteries and call it good.
Not trash to the right people.

That tube amplifier was well worth the $20, I'd easily pay twice that for it, which would then double your money.

Despite very few devices working, the entertainment aspect of going through the pallet and finding the contents was well worth the $20.01. The costly part will be properly disposing of the bad and broken items legally.

Be aware of polarity when plugin DC connectors into early Japanese devices like the Sanyo, the polarity can be swapped! Shield is plus and the pin in the center is minus. Most of those devices are not protected against wrong polarity. Actually it sounded like an AC-AC adapter was used in the video instead of an AC-DC adapter. If you don't know the origin and history of a device, it is always a good idea to check the power specifications, voltage, ac, hz, dc, polarity before plug it in. But, where do you get such pile?

11:09 This looks so much like my first reel to reel! It was in the late 60's early 70s. I used to record songs from a small transistor radio and listened to them over and over. One song comes to mind...'I Like Games of Love'.

Pull the cord is a good technique for getting (Technics) stuff buried in a dumpster ouy. Thst is how I got my Technics SL-7...working too , I am using it now. Those were productivr dumpsters at my apartment complex cool stuff would show up after people moved out. Yeah a Technics SL-1200 mkII and SL-1300 unfortunately the 1200 needs a new lower tone arm bearing as it wss completely missing . I'll find a way to fix that eventually. For now the little close"n"play puts a smile 😊 on my face after I put a record on, close the lid and press play. Even have the brush mounted on the Stanton L747S so I don't need to clean the record most of the time.

This reminds me of Dumpster Diving in the back of the local Radio Shack back in the day! 😋😁I have a working Bose 321 1st gen (2001?) which I use in the bedroom & is attached to the TV via Optical (No HDMI) 😳 and Component video input. Other than the proprietary connections between the sub \ head unit \ & speakers, my only other regret with the system are the proprietary speaker connections that won't let you upgrade just the speakers to something better 🤬🤬 . . . so I'm afraid that this 20+ year old unit is destined for the dumpster when it finally fails. 😔

@@218marylandYep, I've pretty much totally boycotted Goodwill because of their corporate practices and greed, and because they basically just used "Covid" as an "excuse" to get rid of 25% discount Monday's AND ALL other discounts, and even though the pandemic is over already, they STILL haven't brought any kind of significant discount back, plus they charge too much for many items, especially since they "claim" to be a "non-profit" organization, AND they literally get EVERYTHING they sell for FREE, from donations from mostly rich people!
It's totally ridiculous that they don't give better deals to their customers anymore, especially since they can literally price their stuff at ANY price point and still make something off of it, since they get ALL of the things they sell for FREE!!
