Thank you, it was a fun project to take on but I will be checking to see if there is any baby poop in the drawers going forward 🤣 I will pass on the next one lol
I have tried Durhams before! Yes, it's WAY cheaper than Bondo and it does do a great job. I haven't used it in a minute but I should keep that on hand!
Looks great! Check with your router manufacturer, but in most cases you need to run the router counter clockwise when working on outside of a piece and clockwise when routing the inside of a piece. I couldn’t tell from video which way you were running it, sometimes videos are backwards!! 😆. Keep up the good work.
I’ll for sure double-check it the next time I use it! I think I had the bit too low at first and it was just taking too much of the oak off at once. I’m planning to adjust the bit accordingly for next time! Thank you so much!
Congratulations. You took a nice Early American Maple dresser with brass Queen Anne hardware, cut off all of the classic molding detail, and painted over the beautiful wood with cheap looking paint, turning it into a piece of IKEA CRAP !! Good Work !
Thank you for engaging with my content and taking the time to leave such kind words! Your interaction is much appreciated as it will help my video reach a wider audience. Regarding the video, I just wanted to clarify that I hammered the moulding (not molding by the way) off to expose the particle board underneath, which had water damage and potential mold. For health reasons, it was necessary to cut off that section. Additionally, you may also need to revisit IKEA because their furniture is a little bit more minimalist or contemporary. If you have any other concerns or questions, please let me know!
1 - why did they let baby poop dry in a drawer, that's just naaaasty! 2 - Imperial breaks my brain lol 3 - love how dark and moody it looks! 4 - that drawer liner...! 🤩
I only flip a handful of pieces a year bc I have another full time job. Would you say a kreg or festool track saw would be worth it? Most pieces I remove the base but I either eye ball the cut after using my circ saw or try to clamp on a straight edge.
Hmm, well I have a Kreg plunge track saw and we've been enjoying it. It's more pocket friendly as well vs. the Festool. (yet the Festool may be better, I'm not sure) If you only plan to us it a few times out of the year then I think you would be please with the Kreg plunge track saw 👍
Do you think I could get you to tell us the maker and Model of that 1/4 sheet sander and that trick foam backed sanding block . Boy I really enjoyed the video I'm feeling very inspired can't wait to see more. New subscriber .
Are you referring to the 3x4 surfprep sander? It’s officially called “Surfprep Electric Ray 3”x4” Sander” and the SKU is (SKU: SPP3X4ESSVC) which is the kit version that includes the sanding disc and the foam sanding pads. Their website is surfprepsanding.com I would say this is an investment sander. I waited two years before finally pulling the trigger for it lol but thank you for being here! ☺️
Thank you! I thought I was slowly adjusting it lower & lower but looking back at it, I was for sure taking too much off. Definitely taking off less at a time for next time!
I don’t know if that’s your goal in this channel as well, but you just got me so motivated to try to use my router 🥹 It sucks asking my husband every time to do it for me, I feel horrible. Thank you so much
That means so much to hear! I definitely want to inspire people to try out different techniques and to think out of the box! But you should so try it out, it gets easier to work with the more you use it! I usually practice on scrap pieces of wood before working on the actually piece so I’m not routing blindly lol
Love the blackon wood accent!
Thanks! 😃
This looks fantastic. I have had almost this exact dresser in my son's room that I haven't known what to do with. Definitely doing this. Thank you! 👍😊
Please do! I’m happy to hear that this helped inspire you!
So much better / more modern with the new base! Looks great
Thank you so much!
After all your hard work, it turned out beautifully.

Just subscribed . Great video xx
Thank you so much! Happy you are here!
Love this!!!!!
It’s so much better than before!
Not the baby poop!! 😩 It turned out SO good!! Can never go wrong with Jet Black
💩🤣 it was quite a surprise! No, you can’t, it's so rich!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Ever try Durhams water putty for your filler.. Cheaper than Bondo and it mixes with water no you never run out of activator

Kai!!! Love this! I was wondering what bit that was, I was trying a cove and just not loving how it turned out. Thanks for your tutorial ❤
A cove bit is great to have but I can see what you mean! Thank you so much!

Rude and also wrong in so many ways!🤣
Lol. Its from the '60's at the earliest. Plus it's not a style anyone wants anymore. It looks so slick now.

Your taking too much off at a time with your router. That’s why it’s coming out in chunks.

Too disgusting!
Which part? 😂
The old base was better
To each their own, either way, the water damage on the particle board under the dated skirt had to go.
No it wasn't
